In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Its obvious the Webbs do!

Your a real class act Mike Webb, do you talk to all women the same way? Or just the ones on the computer so it makes you kinda of tough or something....

It kinda confuses me Mike why your doing all the whining, yet your wife did none..... The big boy pants don't fit everyone I guess

When I started to read everything, I kinda knew where it was all heading, I caught the BS in the beginning. It's interesting that the Webbs have some conflicted statements with one another. But it doesn't surprise me how either of them acted.

I'm just wondering if there is any new info on this mess. Did the Webbs ever apologize? I heard another person had a sick leo from them that was getting tested, anyone here if she got results back? Just wondering/hoping maybe. Lol

The Webbs have not apologized, refunded me, or contacted me in any way since my last post. Unless I'm served with papers for that defamation lawsuit, I don't expect to be hearing from them at all.

I wish I had some new information, but I don't, except that I received a final bill for the additional testing (fecal float) done during the necropsy.

Total cost of this incident so far, $500+:

Bella: $60
Exam/Euth: $51.35
Necropsy and additional testing: $126
Tub and misc. items disposed of due to contamination: $5-$10

Ammonia and other cleaners: $5-$10
UV sterilizer, UV safety glasses, and steam cleaner: $178

Group retests thru ABT for my collection (to be sure it didn't spread): $73.50 + shipping (haven't shipped yet, still waiting for one more sample)

Plus I'm out $445 for a new hatchling rack while I decide if I'm confident in my cleaning of the "contaminated" one. But that's on me... I should have known better than to put a new purchase in it instead of doing my usual makeshift lidded tub with a heat pad/Tstat.

All told, I'm up to about $1k in expenses over this one little gecko with Crypto, more if (gods forbid!) I messed up somewhere with QT and passed it to any of my breeders. I should know for sure fairly soon.

As for the other person (or persons) who may be testing their animals from the Webbs due to Crypto concerns, I'm not in a position to share any information on that. Unless/until those persons decide to go public or post on this thread, it's nothing more than a rumor/3rd party quote and isn't allowed on the BOI. :) But I do encourage anyone with more information or experience with the Webbs to add to this post if they desire.

Mike Webb is total liar and loser. His herps are garbage and I would not buy a dead snake from this guy! I'll leave it at that based on a few past dealings with him and his lovely GF

If you have a disease like that in your collection you should stop attending shows.

Exactly! It's very easy to send test samples into Avian now and the price isn't horrible. They could know within a couple weeks if they were safe or not. They don't even need to test every gecko. They can do group tests or test one animal per breeding group to start with.

And you should never have a sale after you are told that you recently sold a gecko with crypto, possibly wiping out other collections all across the country.

I think they refuse to believe that they had crypto in their collection, despite the obvious signs and test results. I'm just glad they're not in my area or I would not be buying any geckos from shows they attended.

I'm not sure if they're in denial as much as they just don't care. It seems like it's all about the money. It may be a little of both, but anyone who cares about their animals would freak out and have them tested asap. Real tests. And they would not sell any geckos or go to any shows until the results were back. They should have spent those two weeks contacting others who purchased from them recently and cleaning like crazy.

Couldn't agree more. Plus the obvious of apologize, thank customer for bringing it to their attention and refund all expenses.

Hi,
You've been through some rough times here.

I worked in the biotech industry and infectious disease for over a decade.
If you have a UV sterilizer, used peroxide sprays, followed by alcohol spray, you've cleaned your rack well.
Ive worked with some nasty stuff and we don't replace our lab equipment if we detect any contaminants. We just clean, and clean well.
I hope that puts some rest to your mind.

Yep, been doing business for over 15 years, some pissy little whore in kansas
That could not follow through on having the gecko seen in a reasonable time and had necropsy
Results that were negative and inconclusive isnt going to slow me down one bit.. so have fun wasting your time, stick the $60.00 up your ass since you want to be a cunt about things. I could give a shit less about the opinions of a bunch of people sitting on a forum with nothing better to do, I have healthy animals and have no problem selling them. Anybody is more than welcome to see them in person at
Any show we are attending.

WOW, I dont comment much and am still reading this thread... This post took my thoughts of you and your business to an entirely different level. Good luck moving your animals online or in any other forum again. At best you are stuck with selling @ shows to unsuspecting individuals. If you would have refunded the $60 when contacted about it and proceeded to test your animals this most likely would have never made the BOI.

I could still see the seller's point of view. Up until this point in the thread. Trying to flip this on a buyer who has done an excellent job of offering up all her records, and then unnecessary name calling. And while the crypto could be chalked up to error along the way by some people, we have proof right here that these people have abhorrent customer service. And while I personally don't plan on buying leopard geckos, I regularly advise customers on good reptile breeders. Add these guys to the "AVOID" list.

I'm pretty sure it's more common to see false negatives on the crypto test than a false positive. They also ran the test twice. The gecko was showing signs before the testing, too. I honestly don't know how anyone could think it was an error. Plus, the gecko was ill and they didn't do anything about it. Whether it was crypto or not, the gecko was sick.

I personally agree. But there are people, like the seller, that would claim that because the necropsy came back "clean", that the first results were somehow a false positive. However, in my mind, this was clearly a case of crypto.

And the problem here is not just that the gecko had it, but that the sellers handled the situation so terribly. They could have simply paid for the costs, apologized, and stuck with their claim of a clean collection. And if this really was an isolated incident, they would be thankful that a customer was attentive and gave them the heads up they needed to clear the rest of the collection.

Just a quibble... the necrospy actually came back inconclusive, since the small intestine could not be tested. Even though the other tissues came back "clean" the result was neither a definitive yes nor a definitive no. But I agree, the odds that the first results were (both, since ABT ran the sample twice) false positive when the gecko was also showing all the symptoms of Crypto is extremely unlikely.

This has been my problem all along. Yes, Bella was sick. When dealing with living creatures, illness happens, which is why I didn't jump on Amanda's offer of a refund when we thought it was just stress or possibly minor parasites. It wasn't about the money for me.

You can see how the tone of the conversation changed when my ABT results came back. I was still civil and cooperative, because I understand how something like this can happen, especially if you deal in wholesale lots. And I'm not slamming the practice, just to be clear... I just recognize that it's more risky from a disease standpoint, as animals are coming into and leaving the collection more often than in a "closed" collection. It was entirely the way the Webbs responded to me and dealt with the situation as a whole that turned this into a BOI-worthy transaction.

I've had a few other transactions where animals came to me with issues (all minor, but issues nonetheless). In none of those transactions did things descend into name-calling and/or threats of legal action by either side. They were handled appropriately and civilly by all parties. In fact, a couple of those breeders have posted on this thread in my support, and I hope to do business with them in the future because they exhibit the sort of professionalism and integrity that I would prefer to promote. I'm definitely not the kind of person who's out to ruin a seller's reputation over nothing.

Beyond appalled at the behavior of the sellers here. Both of them.

Amanda and Mike, neither of you are fit to be business people, and neither of you should be breeding or selling animals. You lack the professionalism and maturity needed to do either of those things.

Mike, your meltdown on page 5 and subsequent apology were both disgusting and pathetic. Angela has been nothing but polite and accommodating. Even if she'd been horribly rude, your posts would not have been justified.

If I see either of your names in connection with any future Utah shows, I'll be having hundreds of local reptile keepers contacting the show to protest. You have no place in the reptile community.
