In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Bad Guy Amanda & Mike Webb of The Pet Gecko

It took my thoughts of you and your business to an entirely different level. Good luck moving your animals online or in any other forum again. At best you are stuck with selling @ shows to unsuspecting individuals.

I don't even think THAT will happen, too many people are contacting any and all shows that they might even think of attending and directing their attention to this thread. Many shows will not allow them to participate now, I think, and hopefully it will run them out of the business that Mike is so miserable in anyway.

You really have to be miserable in your own life to say to someone what you did on this forum, Mike. I hope you get the professional help you need and find something in life you enjoy that does not include making disgusting comments about others.

Mike, your meltdown earlier in the thread, and your subsequent "apology" show the type of character you truly are. Why did you have to act like a complete and utter jerk to her, (and everyone here), when all she wanted was resolution? Pretty petty if you ask me.

Also, nice try trying to cover up what you said about testing the geckos. First you said you tested all of them, then you said that you didn't test all of them. So which is it? You can't have it both ways. One (or both) of those statements are a lie, and I'm guessing that it's both.

If I was looking for geckos, I sure as heck wouldn't be looking your way. I will also not be recommending anyone else to go to you. Your lack of business ethics and customer service make for a bad mark, which is to not be tolerated by me or anyone I know.

I find it odd that anyone in this hobby says that these forums, especially as well-known and watched forum as this one, doesn't matter; that the perpetrators can keep their business going well when the success of anyone in this hobby relies almost completely on word of mouth. This is the best way to spread it, and therefore, one of the more important outlets breeders have. I just... don't get it.

The more dedicated denizens here go out and spread the word to the people that run the shows... Isn't that a little important? :\

I also don't understand how someone can just fly off the handle like Mike has done to someone that has been nothing but patient and professional. Ugh.

The seller says that in 100 years this thread won't matter. And they might be right.

But it's certainly going to matter for the next several, if they manage to stay in business.

I'm already betting that they change their business name again and go into hiding when they find out how truly bad their business is going to take a dive because of this.

Unfortunately, as the list of bad guy threads posted under their previous business name shows, this board hasn't mattered enough to put the Webbs out of business. People will still buy from them, whether out of ignorance (as I did) or out of a belief that what they did/said wasn't all that wrong. And when this thread dies down and/or a convenient "good guy" thread appears, things will go back to normal for the most part.

I like to think that we may be able to do something more now that will affect them. Especially with the shows they do. I do believe they will change the business name again though, but we will find the new names and post them here when that happens.

Angela, I wouldn't be that pessimistic. I agree there will always be people who don't research or don't care but we have seen plenty of people spin and kick to their deaths in this hobby on this board by their own hand.

A few points to consider. In the past the subject of this thread blamed many of the previous problems on a partner. This time around there is no debate on who stated what. His words are here for everyone to see.

What happens here will be determined by those who read this thread.

In my opinion there are two major points to consider when reading this thread by anyone who thinks about doing business with Amanda and Mike or supporting them in the future.

One, how they tried to resolve the issue. Their communications with their customer. Included in that is their response to you here with the obscene, vulgar statement that was made.

I'm sure many will simply choose not to do business with them because of their responses to your transaction.

It is true in the past on other threads unrelated to them and his own, people have come forward to say they have received great animals from the subject of the thread and that is all that matters to them. There will always be people who don't care but many have crossed lines here where those that don't care are so far heavily outweighed by those that do that they simple are gone from the peer pressure exerted on them.

Second, the issue of disease.

Even if some wouldn't be turned off by the statement Mike posted here or the way he handled this situation, who would in their right mind be comfortable purchasing an animal with the evidence in this thread? How serious did Mike take the notification of this issue?

Who would want to have a table next to someone at a show that handled the notice of a possible deadly problem in the manner that it was handled here?

Anyone confident and reassured here that Mike tested all his animals? That there are no problems?

Angela, I think this thread is much different then Mike's previous threads.

Even if one could overlook or forgive his statements to you personally there are many less that would overlook the position they may put their own collections in.

In the end, all we have is peer pressure.

My opinion, Personally, I wouldn't do business with anyone that would respond to a customer the way Mike responded here. Regardless of Mike's dispute over the testing it was inappropriate and not something I would want to promote.

I also would think less of someone who would whitewash his responses to justify purchasing something from this seller that they want.

I would also be leery of purchasing something from anyone that reads this thread and still feels that it is OK to purchase animals that may have a disease that could wipe-out their collections or mine if I purchased from them without further follow-up on testing from Mike.

There is a difference of not knowing about a issue and reading about it and deciding to purchase anyway.

Who wants to be the first to step up here and state that his crude comments doesn't matter as long as you get what you want from him at a great price?
That the reported crypto issue isn't a concern to you?

Very true!! I was about day that even if the the post of his vulgar meltdown and that pathetic apology were erased from this thread no way in hell would I buy from, want them at shows or even give (or leave) their fb page my "like". They way the responded after being told the animal tested positive tells you all you need to know. Evasive and deny!!!

I'd also like to say to all of you that didn't bother to "unlike" their biz page, a lot of people look at who likes a biz page because it's kind of a recommendation to that biz. When someone is looking at their likes on Facebook and sees your name and they know/respect you that tells them you approve of the page you liked. Maybe everyone doesn't see it the same way but a lot of ppl do and I know a lot of ppl on this thread and ppl on my friends list still "like" their biz page and I just want you to think about what that means or might mean to others.

I agree. I unfriended Amanda and unliked their page already. She still has over 2000 likes though.

Before you leave you can also give them a review that they can not take down. :)

I found them easily on Facebook and left a one-star review on their page. You can't link pages in the original review, but you CAN comment on your review and link to this thread in the comment. :)

Mike, if you have time to read, you have time to respond. I still haven't heard from either you or Amanda, not even for a face-saving private apology. Should I assume that I will never receive one?

I am THRILLED to report that the first of my re-tests for Crypto through ABT have come back negative. That means all of my breeders and hold-back babies are safe. I'm just waiting on results from my pets and non-holdback babies/juvies to be "in the clear."

This has been an expensive lesson. But it appears that it's not going to be as expensive as it could have been.

I'm so happy to hear that. I wish this never happened to you, but if it was someone else, the end results could have been much worse. You do an amazing job educating yourself and with quarantine. So proud of how you handled everything. We need more gecko breeders like you. :)

:iagree:

As someone involved in rescue, it is refreshing to see a breeder being as thorough and caring as you've shown yourself to be. So glad the tests are coming back negative.

The other samples I sent to ABT also came back negative for Crypto. This means 1) there is no way Bella could have gotten Crypto from my existing collection (proven twice over now) and 2) I did not make any mistakes in quarantine and spread the parasite to any of my other geckos, a reason for celebration if there ever was one.

I still have not heard from the Webbs. While I have their personal pages blocked on FB, they are free to contact me through private message on this website or through their business page on Facebook. If they ever do contact me with an apology or attempts at restitution, I'll be sure to come back and update this thread.

And now, I'm off to clean/scrub, feed, and love on my kids, both scaly and non-scaly. Thank you all for all your support through this situation. It is much appreciated.
