In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Bad Guy Andy Jones, The Pied Python BEWARE

I am glad that this all worked out in the long run, I am also hope the Timor pythons make it though any vet trips and learn to thrive for you. I also hope your pastel females makes out ok for you..

I guess I'll be the unreasonable one in the crowd. Since this wasn't really a relatively minor issue, I have to ask if anyone can confirm that there even is a quarantine building, and that his operation is big enough to have his own employees?

If there was always the possibility that it could have been blamed on "unsupervised (now former) employees", it seems a bit odd that that wouldn't have been a possibility that he could have initially conceded to. This scenario isn't exactly about a slight misrepresentation, and I think that the severity of their condition may make it worth taking a closer look at.

I agree in post #1 It says (He said they were thriving and had been in his collection for over a year.)

Exactly!!

If they had been in his collection for over a year, sorry, but this " employee " explanation does not cut it, compared to the first post stating that they were thriving in his collection for over a year.

Andy said in his email to the OP:

" These animals have been in a quarantine building since their arrival, supposedly under the care of some folks who worked for up until yesterday that is! "

What? Were they in quarantine for a year? Andy really has that big of a reptile breeding operation that he needs " employees? "

I have to agree with this, but both parties are now satisfied that the deal is finished so it's a wash!:)

I think it's a bit early to see it as "all's well that ends well". Calling it a wash may be a bit overly kind, at least as far as Jones is concerned. It's very likely that his own typo screwed him out of his chance to screw the OP over. The next guy may not be lucky enough to dodge such a big bullet. The fact that the OP got extremely lucky, doesn't negate what seems be the other party's intent to rip him off.

I think that there are some things that he needs to answer for, especially if he has some interest in being perceived as something other than a shady guy who has no qualms about sending snakes out in that condition.

First of all, they should have never been shipped. Second of all, they were supposed to have been treated upon arrival for any parasites!

If he believed he was selling CB animals, why was there a plan to treat them upon arrival for parasites?

Im glad this was resolved but that doesn't change the fact that Andy Jones sent you unhealthy animals & tried to screw you. Mites aren't that hard to get rid of & he should have never sent them out that way, not to mention he lied about them being captive born.He made the top of my do not deal with list & is a scumbag as far as im concerned.

Not to add to the arguments that have been presented and answered, but I would like to point out that I received 2 Jungle Carpet Pythons from Andy back in March of this year, both arrived in OK shape, slightly lethargic, but that went away quickly. However, 2 weeks after arrival they became infested with mites in my QT area (only two snakes in that room away from my collection). This was the first, and only time Mites had ever been introduced into my home. I was able to resolve the issue myself, and did not worry enough to contact Andy since I know mite's happen, and the snakes did not "appear" to have mites when they arrived, just harbored the eggs that were unkillable with PAM during initial treatments.

So Adding to the facts presented - Be careful with any snakes purchased from Andy and ensure proper Quarantine. Mites are not worth a good deal, and I will not be giving him return business in the future.

Cheers,

Cody Conway
