In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Bad Guy Anthony Caponetto - acreptiles.com

I am not here bash anyone or trying to cause drama, but I too have had a difficult time dealing with Anthony Caponetto. I paid for two 4-8 week old geckos one red and one red from chip's line. I paid for them in April and e-mailed him as well as his "shipping department" with a few different ship dates. Each time I received an automated e-mail saying that my ship date has been noted and there would be no problems. Several weeks went by and no geckos or e-mails saying why they weren't sent on the day they were scheduled. I finally received them in June and I am not aware of any problems other then they were shipped to the wrong address. Once he did not send them after we set a ship date I was worried because he failed to return any of my e-mails. My living situation has changed within the three months I was waiting for my geckos as well as two books I had paid for, which I have still not received to this day. I notified him directly and also his shipping department that my address had been changed months before the geckos actually arrived. Furthermore, as soon as he finally e-mailed me that he was sending out my geckos I again gave him my new address, but he failed to acknowledge my e-mail. Anthony, seeing as you can respond to an open forum better than you do email, I would hope you would contact me directly to finish my order and restore your credibility in my eyes. This is my first purchase from you and I've never experienced such poor communication and shipping from a breeder before. I've purchased animals from many people and have never been a problem customer. Please don't use the excuse that you are too busy dealing with your millions of animals and thousands of customers. I've dealt with very large scale breeders in the past but have never been treated like this. I want my books that I paid for so please contact me ASAP.

Well, in all honesty, that sounds like a pretty decent case that you and Anthony need to resolve, unlike the main topic in this thread.

But, I would send a PM to Anthony or start your own BOI concerning that issue... Just some advice. :)

Thank you for the advice, honestly I have been trying to contact him but still nothing. I do not need to make anymore of the issue, I was just hoping he would see my post and finally get around to contacting me about the rest of my order. He has clearly been on the computer responding to posts but not able to respond to a paying concerned customer. Again, thank you I appreciate it. - Ashley

In All actuality They need to be in the same thread! You are supposed to add to threads if it is in connection with the same seller as I understand it so it should be here but I'm sure Anthony will take care of both of these people in one way or another! Anthony is a stand up guy from what I've read and he's not going to ruin his reputation over a $99 sale or a few books! Things happen... I know he's probably busy and there may be something technical that happened but we will let Anthony come and let us know! Technology is Great (when it works) but things happen! As for the gecko... he was more then accomidating and someway.. somehow he'll come out of this smelling like a rose... I have faith!

Just my .02

In a perfect world that would make sense, but this has been going on for months. Also if you have never dealt with him personally, I am not sure you have the full story. I am hoping for the best in this situation, and for it to be resolved. It may be only a couple books, but I paid for them and still have not received them. That money could have gone to other things in my life or I could have bought them from somewhere else and had them over two months ago. In this situation I cannot fully agree that technology is to blame. Thank you for the positive thoughts though. - Ashley

I have not read this entire thread so maybe someone has already said this and if then I second them, but some baby crested geckos do have under/over bites and grow out of them! Just like some humans grow into their unnaturally large heads! It's a Chip baby! If you don't want it send it to me! If I could afford a Chips baby I would snag him up quick, reguardless of a "deformities" that he can grow out of!

In the fall of 2008 my roomate and I bought an Area 51 pack from Anthony Caponetto. We even asked if we could get a few of his more interesting morphs in the deal. Sure enough we got 10 amazing baby cresties and some of them were the specialty morphs we asked for. Nothing but praise for him on our side.

PS has anyone said anything about her post on Pangea saying her father bought the gecko and here her saying she bought it? Hmmm it's not important but it just irks me when all facts aren't strait.

http://www.pangeareptile.com/forums/showthread.php?t=38372

From the Pangea thread:

" For my birthday my father bought me an unsexed red dalmatian from a reputable breeder."

From above:

we were paying customers

This lil critter was a gift. After Anthony went out of his way to try to make it right, you stomped your feet both here and apparently in another forum when you could have had both this little guy (he is cute, from the picture I saw) AND another lizard gratis.

At least you got part of it right, Anthony is a reputable breeder. And Daddy is nice to have bought you such a gift, it is not his fault that you are behaving this way. Perhaps because he is a loving Daddy he took your stompings as you grew up, but Anthony doesn't have to take the kind of behavior you are dishing out.

Very reasonable request. I am sure in the interest of customer service, Anthony will respond ASAP.

Good luck!

I believe those books are shipped out by Phillipe de Vosjoli, and aren't even stocked at Anthony's facility.

I don't have the envelope anymore, but when mine came, I remember wondering what it was because it didn't come from AC Reptiles.

I still bought them from his website so either way I would appeciate being contacted. I paid AC for them so I leave it to him to be responsible for them.

Yeah that crossed my mind too. I also liked how the whole story wasn't presented on Pangea and no mention of the sellers name.. so everyone was siding with her.

Much to Matt's credit, he doesn't allow breeders'/dealers' names to be mentioned on Pangea. I'm assuming his thought process is that if it belongs on the BOI, take it here. He doesn't allow the drama on his site.

He's another stand-up guy that I regularly do business with, and I appreciate and respect his rules.

Ohhh yeah I didn't think about that. Never mind. Hehe.

I think you're right. In a response to Courtney saying she wanted AC to send her books instead, he told her he doesn't stock them.

I believe that AC is a stand up guy. I am sure he will follow up on ashley's request.

Some people just dont realise how limited the gene pool is on certain animals, because they do not know how many were imported in the first place. I cannot tell you how many times i here beginners say that they would never "inbreed" their animals when in all reality they are anyway. Just because you bought from 2 different sources doesnt mean different Genetics..The only way to be sure of that is to have your animals tested, and that is quite exspensive..

I dont know alot about Geckos but I personaly would have never noticed said underbite and still really dont to be honest!

I am by no means a crested gecko expert but I have been around a few and I agree Shawn, that underbite is slight at best and as for it being a deformed "freak", now that is a stretch.

I am not sure where you see a "deformed freak" in that Gecko??? It's a very slight underbite at best.. What would you do if one of your Gecko's loses a tail or toe???

I am not saying you're totally wrong on this one either... The fact is that you received an animal that you are not 100% happy with.. BUT, AC offered to exchange it for you!!! What else can you possibly ask for? (besides free books??) :ack2: I'm sorry, but I just cannot see how AC is a bad guy on this one. He offered you a replacement gecko FREE of charge, but you would have to return the "Deformed Freak" that is burdening your collection anyway.. What's the problem with this?? Why should you get 2 geckos for the price of one?

In my opinion; you should have put your freak gecko in a box, shipped it back to AC and this issue would have been solved... But, at this point if i was the seller there is no way I would risk sending you another animal.
