In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

anybody ever deal with Hank molts global herp??? need some feedback

That because he fits the MO of a Fed Snitch.....

They always have Money issues....They Rip you off if you Don't know the Laws......Gilas in Maine? Do you need a permit to possess Venomous? Yes...
Do you have the permit?????...Good Luck

I wasn't trying to defend Hank, I don't know him or any of the people involved.
I would point out that there appears to be no evidence anyone but Hammond knew the snake was marked, other than the testimony of the original poacher.
I searched the internet but couldn't find a date as to when the twinspots were protected. I would be willing to bet it was some time in the 70's since I did find a reference to Karl Kaufield which said he urged the protection of the twinspot in 1969.
I think it's highly unlikely that there are records of every twinspot collected before 1969 and their offspring.
Also while the authors statment that no zoos are breeding twinspots may be accurate it does not account for any twinspots that may have been bred by zoos in the past.
Any twinspots collected as sub-adult or younger in 1969 could easily be expected to be reproducive into the late 70's and early 80's when captive breeding really took off.
While I do think breeding twinspots was a rare occurence until recently, they can live for over 20 years and I highly doubt anyone can account for all twinspots ever collected and all offspring ever produced.

I contacted Arizona Game and Fish and they told me the Twin Spot was only protected by the state. It's considered a "closed species" animal, NOT an endangered specie. However, it would be a Lacey Act violation if you collected one and took across state line.

Randal I know that. What I was refering to was the article that was posted said that there is no such thing as a legal twinspot. That is not true. Twinspots were legal until fairly recently and many people had them. No records exist on the ones collected before they closed the season and there could be many babies floating around. My only point was that the article was biased against reptile keepers because Cathy had said she thought it was well written. I agree that the article documents this particular incident very well but I think it's not right they infused it with half truths in an attempt to discredit all twinspot keepers.

My apologies, Aaron, I misunderstood the intent of your original post. You do have some very valid points. I don't see the article as being biased against reptile keepers in general, but can see what you are saying about those who very well may still be keeping the twinspots legally.

Aaron, Good point.
Tom Jones Amphibian/Reptiles Progran Manager for Arizona, emailed me and said the "closed season" on Twin Spots was the 1970's.
So, thats give or take 30 years ago when they were not protected, i.e several generations of legal animals must exist now.

hank molt

If money is burning a hole in your pocket, buy lottery tickets or try the casinos. At least you'll know where you stand.

Just joined this website.
Mr Molt seems to be one very difficult person, so to say. He offered one Black Caiman to one European herper and requested several 1000 dollars as pre-payment for finishing the cites papers etc. nothing happened since then, whether the caiman came nor any refund he promised. This IS criminal in my opinion and beside Molt´s other illegal activities in the past this guy is not one serious business partner.

Try picking up the book released beginning of August "The Lizard King" by Bryan Christy if you'd like to find some interesting reading on reptile smuggling industry. Hank's history with smuggling which ended up with him serving jail time is a pretty good clue what kind of a person Hank is.

I have read the book twice now in the last couple of week.

Very interesting ready.

I was amazed at the lengths that people would go to.

Hank Molt, Who????????????

If money is burning up your wallet, may I suggest the lottery. At least you'll have some fun.

To all; He ripped me off for $6300.00 during hes "Big Venomous
sale in the spring of 2007. I've go all the proof anyone would need--copies of he bank draft Molt insisted to be paid with; copies of all emails (his and mine) concerning my efforts to get either the snakes I thought I had ordered (and know that I paid for!) or my $$ back: and even copies of the phone calls between us during the 3 months after he stole my money! At that point Molt just stopped taking my calls and to this day continues to blow me off. The man is a thief and an habitual liar--he needs to be put out of the reptile business for good! I've kept reptiles for over 50 years and never encountered anyone as dishonest and Hank Molt. I caught up with him in Daytona later in '07--much to his chagrin--only to receive further promises about about how he would make good on our deal. Needless-to-say nothing ever came of that either. has anyone ever dealt with hank molts global herp? the reason i ask is that its been 10 weeks since i sent him $$$ for some female gila monsters, and to this day all i get is excuses as to why he didnt ship. the last time he e-mailed me he said he would send my $$$$ back but i havent seen anything from that e-mail either, in 1 e-mail he told me i had a short fuse, after waiting for the animals for 8 weeks. i told him just my patience was short. at this point im ready to turn him in to the fbi internet fraud site! thanks spider!

H.M. is not only one person with a criminal history - in my opinion his is still a defrauder, as a friend of mine painfully learned, who did send 6.000 USD from Europe to Molt and never received what he ordered. guys like H.M. are destroying the legal business and I would really like seeing him again to tell him eye to eye what I think about him!

hank molt

He's still up to his old tricks. Takes money for snakes not in his possession and then the long, long, long, wait. The lucky ones get their money back.
You and others should have checked his criminal record with the Fish & Wildlife folks in Jenkintown, Pa., and maybe they'll give you his history and background with them. This is where it all started.

If you wanted legal Gila's there are several on the forum selling them with paperwork.

My one experience with Hank Molt was great. The python which I purchased was exactly as described to me. However, shipping did take over a month. I am under the impression that Hank is currently "underground", as it seems to be his habit to do so every few years. His "Global Herp" website apprears to be no more and I have not seen him advertising for quite some time now. Does anyone know if he was at Daytona this year?
