I wouldn't have been surprised if he'd merely claimed innocence and proceeded to lie to make his case.
You don't find too many criminals though that say "yeah, I mugged a few people, but there's nothing wrong with that."
By Drew's reasoning, mugging would be just another sound business plan.
Instead of

I could just imagine a fellow saying yeah, I was walking through the park and I saw all these women carrying purses.... so I had the idea I'd grab one of them and run. It worked, and a new business idea was born!

Thanks Mike. The bidding activity of "Sunshinereptiles" is still very suspicious. His first bids are from 03/20, he posted two hetero for "albimo" boas for sale and bidded like there is no tomorrow on three of Drew's animals. Those were a carpet python, and ETB, and an a RTB hetero for albino. It makes no sense at all. You are new to a site and you go on bidding like crazy on different species posted by the same seller. Then again he is also from St. Petersburg.

That really puzzles me. Faunaclassifieds is ranked #1 on their site. They go as far as stating, and I quote:

For classified ads, general discussion forums, the ORIGINAL Board of Inquiry, and much, much more, THIS is the site to visit!

One would think they would pay attention. It was not that it was an unfounded claim. They even have the contact for Douf Price to confirm what was said. This way before all the shilling, multiple, names, etc. was discovered.

They are wrong if they figure they are making more money by keeping one seller who is wronging buyers than by paying attention to the claims of potential buyers. Years ago we had Herpauction. It was great for a while (at least for me), and I was there daily. But then one day I was badly burnt by one individual. The same happened with several other people. At that point in time the activity on that site was huge, no one even dreamed they were going to be going down in a short period of time.

Just a heads-up for Reptibid, you can't afford having the bad publicity you are having right now. Check the Q & A section of every animal placed by Herpcorner. Hopefully you will see what's going on.

The Problem Is

Reptibid doesn't charge a fee right now. Because of this someone can bid up their own animal and if they win, so what? They don't have to pay a fee to Reptibid for having sold an animal at auction and they can just relist it again. If they had to pay a percentage of the sale price then they'd lose money each time this activity was practiced. Right now there's no "penalty" not to do so thus "a business was born."

If they show they absolutely don't care and allow people who violate the law to post in their site, they will loose customers/traffic and in turn paid advertising. How would any serious company like to be associated with such practices? Herpauction was among the best, now they are gone...

And gosh darnit I gave my word. I said they were trying to keep things honest etc etc etc.

right now I am PISSED that they are not getting rid of scammers. I am PISSED that the advice I gave is totally wrong and now has possibly affected my credibility.

..."And this is how a new business started"...My goodness! It's "the boa cartel"! So this "Rick" is obviously dfferent from the "Rick" Mike's referring too who also goes by Saddleman is in Texas and bought a book from him.

There are 17 Rick Green's within the the Pinellas Park/St. Petersburg zipcode. One of them is in business with Drew, bids on his animals, and post some of his animals for sale. At least we made progress, we know that Drew actually has animals in his posession, I was afraid he was just brokering.

Who would have even suspected that we were going to dig-up this organization.

We are still waiting for Drew Kosdi's address.

Some of you that have recently bought animals from him most certainly have it in your files. You are protecting a person that has committed fraud, and violated federal laws. Maybe you are happy with the animals you bought but still... Think how that looks in the eyes of the rest. It is important to know his exact location so people don't keep sending their hard earned cash in an absolute genetic gamble.

I bid on that SAME snake about a month prior to that auction won by Jeff(Flyride). I was outbid by Marlboro who kept inching up the bid. I got the impression it was a scam and stopped bidding. I did however write Drew and ask him if the deal went through or not and if not to please let me know as I was still interested in the snake. It was listed as a 66% het the first time. He replied he didn't know if the deal went through or not and that he would let me know if it didn't. A month later the snake was relisted. I wrote to him and asked him why he didn't let me know that the deal obviously didn't go through and he said his wife relisted it. The snake only went for about 300 bux the first time. I've looked in his closed auctions and that auction isn't there. Maybe it was deleted if possible or maybe they only stay there for a certain amount of time. I don't know. Shortly after the snake was sold the 2nd time, I noticed Drew had pics of it up for sale again on 2 different auctions. 1 male and 1 female. I went into the Q&A sections of those 2 auctions and stated that these pictures were of an animal that was already sold. Drew disagreed and said to e-mail him and he would explain. I e-mailed him and also attached the pics from his previous auctions of the same animal. He replied that I was right and his wife put the wrong pics in the ad. The pics remained in the auctions though. Then I went into the Q&A section again and stated that I had e-mailed Drew and he confirmed that these pics were NOT the actual animals for sale. THEN he pulled the pics and stated that his wife posted the wrong pics and to e-mail him for the right ones and that was the end of my interaction with Drew. -Chris

Bidding 101

What's the point on starting to bid on day 1 and try to outbid another interested parties or "shills" for that matter?

You, the interested bidder, inflate the price in cooperation with another interested party or even with a shill. Why not wait until the last day, better yet, the last 15 minutes in order to bid for the first time? Don't fall in the trap of Herpcorner, and/or Marlboro, and/or Bayherps, and/or Boidsrus, and/or Sunshinereptiles let them bid among themselves.

If you want to make a good or fair deal don't get into the bidding frenzy until the last few minutes.

In the example above IMHO Jeff did the right thing, he waited until the last day except that he started bidding one hour and fifteen minutes before closing time, and he paid $200 more.

Just an anecdote. I use to go to country auctions because I like them. The bidding starts for an item and it goes for example like this "do I hear $500 for this item"? Silence..."What about $250"? Silence again..."Who gives me $100..." Now the bidding starts, and oddly enough the final price is sometimes more than double the initial proposed bid. Experienced bidders know they have to start low, and wait for the right moment to start bidding.
