In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Info Ashley Caspillo-SakaraGT4/Sakara *Possible Buyer Beware!*

No one knows for sure how long has IBD been around. It might have been prevalent for hundreds of years and only detected as technology advanced or maybe even because someone decided to find out what those "inclusion bodies" were all about. The fact is that its existence has been now known for almost half a century. There's only one explanation as of why a disease that has been around for such an prolonged period of time has not wiped out all boids in captivity, it's not that easily transmitted. In a great number of instances mites have been implicated as the vector. This may explain why it's not prevalent today in a large number of collections but more likely in those that have been invaded by mites. Personally, there's not a chance that I would buy from her and would encourage other to do the same; but I would also have no problem entering a show even if I knew she had been there before. Yes to precautions, no to paranoia.

Has anyone actually heard from Ashely lately, it seems like it's been pages and pages since she was last in this thread...

Not that we can truly trust anything she says, take whatever she says with a grain of salt is what I think. While she may not be doing everything(anything) right small steps would be a good thing to see.

Any more contact with Dr. Jacobson? Any progress with getting tests done?

I find near constant fascination on why she can state or even hint this kind of stuff elsewhere but not here, where all the info about her started.

Example: "I sent x,y, and z animals off for testing. I will post the results when I get them".

Is it really that hard?

At this point I'm so exasperated by the whole thing I will just say stay clear of this person and her collection. Even if there are no more IBD positive animals to be found, there is still no quarantine and the odd mite infestation. And also don't reply to her forum posts.

Definitely some really shoddy husbandry, accompanied with proven lies, and a general lackadaisical approach to reptile keeping and how certain actions can affect your reputation.

This falls from the front page and all IBD references are removed from her website. Interesting coincidence.

Ashley, how did Phoenix die, and have you done even a single test yet?

I'm curious why she was even buying snakes at NARBC without knowing for sure what's going on in her collection.

Do we KNOW if she bought any snakes this weekend? I mean, I go to shows without taking things home sometimes, or it's possible she bought something else like more cresties.

If she DID buy snakes, she has NOT closed her collection as promised, and this is one unethical mark against her.

we were at the table next to hers at the auction on saturday and i saw no snakes in her possession. however there were other people sitting with her that did bid on and win snakes at the auction. whether or not they were friends or family of hers, i cannot say.

I just want it on the record here that the silverback bolivian female I bought from Ashley is as of today shaking her head when she lifts it off the floor of her tub. Vet check on Tuesday to discuss options. Snow storms and dr. appt's after that stalled getting testing a day's drive and a night's stay away so far.

Is it consistent? Sometimes when a Boa is trying to see something that it thinks it saw but quit moving, they will make a bit of a head wabble trying to focus on it again. Not saying this is the case, but a possibility. ??

It is consistent. I can try to get it on video but my camera is awful. My other boas don't shake when they look up, and all she is doing is raising her head. It isn't a nod or a looking back and forth, but a parkinsons-looking shaking.
