In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Bad Experience: Megan Knickerbocker - [email protected]

John I would like it if you could post pics of the wound on the face, and of the animal that needs to be properly identified. And in the interest of being fair, We need to have someone like that knows Tegus come here and give us his opinion as to an ID of the one in question. Otherwise it is just hearsay.

In the mean time, Megan, the ad says perfect. The animals are not. Tail tip missing, chewed up neck does not = perfect.

Give me till monday to get some close ups of her nose. The animal that needs to be identified can be seen on page 6 I believe it is. He is the bigger one, not the long skinny animal. I'm afraid I no longer have the e-mails from any of them. Feel free to invite anyone you want to come view the pictures. James...don't forget the nails that "Megan didn't cut" that are 1/2 as long as they should have been. When I opened the box when I first got it some of the toes on BOTH animals were bloody. I should have taken a pictures but instead I cleaned the animals up.

Yes, pictures are a great help in situations like this. Megan, you have not answered my questions.

once again

that ad first of all was from a couple months ago when i first listed them, and the female is skinny because she just laid eggs last month yes a know its out of season, but she did and i dont know why. all the eggs went bad exept for two so i dont know if they were fertilized or not. i'm sorry if you think the pics look like a b & w but the male is a blue, he isnt the prettest blue around but he is a blue!! john saw those pics and the add and he didnt have a problem with how they looked so he bought them. i'm sorry that he was unhappy with them but the sale was final and even if i wanted to get them back and send johns money back to him i couldnt because i dont have it. those pics showed the females neck and the males color normally, i didnt take miss leading photos. i also told john that the male was missing two toe nails, and the females neck was alittle messed up from mating but it would heal with her next shed and he understood, never once did he tell me he had a problem with it. and as for refusing them, i had no control over the mail box her sent them to. i can find there number and you can ask them about it yourself. and they were my pets i dont breed them nor do i sell them for a profit, i had no choice. i bought the male at prehistoric for $290.00 and the female from central coast reptile research for $350.00 and john bought them for $540 shipped not $700 like the ad says, so i most defently lost money also contact terry who sold me the female and ask him if she had scale rot, because i bought her from him around 3 months ago if that. i dont understand why you guys spend all day trying to prove that i was cruel to my animals and was misleading about there condition. these were my first reptiles and i took very good care of them and loved them dearly to me they looked perfect compared to everything else i saw at pet shops. so i'm sorry but john if all this is, is to get your money back i cant give it back because i dont have it thats why i didnt give u my adress. but trust me if i would have known when they were are the p.o box and if someone would have called me i would have gone and picked them up, i'm not that cruel. the point is the p.o box didnt even call me either times when he shipped them i called the first time when john said he shipped them out and they would be there by 3pm i called at 12pm and they had already refused them. all i can say is i'm sorry

John, since no one is coming here with any help in regard to properly identifying your Tegu, it is my advice that you contact someone that is experienced with Tegus to make an ID here. Or maybe you could send the e-mails from Bert. Otherwise, it is just your word against hers. John, I will also tell you that the way you shipped the animals back to her leaves a very bad taste in my mouth.

" i bought the male at prehistoric for $290.00 and the female from central coast reptile research for $350.00 and john bought them for $540 shipped not $700 like the ad says, so i most defently lost money also contact terry who sold me the female and ask him if she had scale rot, because i bought her from him around 3 months ago if that. "

Megan, you say these are your beloved pets. Yet you have them for only 3 months??? You say that you cared so much for them, but that is not what I am seeing here. Anyone that cares for their animals would not subject them to cigarette smoke. Your suggestion to call Terry in order to verify your story is ironic. Run a search on him, and get ready to spend a few hours reading all of the bad posts that he has. He is as dishonest as they come and his animals that he sells are usually in substandard condition and sold at premium prices (and that is if you actually can get him to come up with the animal). Anyway, I want to know one thing from you. Did your ad state that the animals were perfect? Yes or no. I realize you say that you filled him in on the phone as to their flaws, but that is just literally a he said, she said situation at this point, and it is not really getting anyone anywhere. So please quit with the hearsay, and answer my one and only question. If you have any evidence, please post it here.

John/Megan, I think you both need to seriously rethink the way you both have handled this transaction.

I don't understand the logic - you sent her $500 bucks and got the tegus which you weren't happy with - she flat out tells you she is not refunding your money because she already spent it - so you send them back without even a proper address to her anyways, TWICE.

Why would Mailboxes etc. just accept a package that is not coming to one of their clients that rents a mailbox and not properly addressed to boot? Especially post 9/11....

Had she accepted them you would have been out $500 AND the tegus. At least you have the tegus and can sell them to recoup some of your loss because I doubt you are getting any money from her anytime soon without a lot of expense and energy on your part, you could go the small claims route but if the defendant doesn't have money they don't toss them in the slammer- they let them make payments.....

In the meantime the tegus , the innocent victims here, endured 3 rough rides and 7+ days in a box, why? because one MIGHT be the wrong color (you obviously aren't sure since you had to email pics to other breeders to find out) and they were not FLAWLESS.

BTW - If your intention is to breed the tegus why is them being FLAWLESS such a concern? They don't use that missing tail tip in the breeding process...... and breeding tegus will be scarred up - the males are rough!

P.S. The pic of the tegu being fed a cockateil and the with the cigarette would have turned me off to the deal right away

Jon, I agree with you. The more I look at both sides of this mess the less I like what I see on either end. I tried not to be judgmental and to be objective, but this whole situation STINKS any way you slice it.! :no01:

If you look at posts under his old user name PristinePythons it puts a lot into perspective ...also make note of his age (19) and this girls age (18).......

http://www.faunaclassifieds.com/forums/showthread.php?t=55011

Yes I am infact 19yrs of age. I'm legally an adult so what does someones age explain? So If I was 25 you'd see this differently? How does this put anything in perspective? If you read through that entire thread there was nothing I could have done for NEWREPTILES as I was never contacted about the mishap. Yes I was brokering other animals for awhile, is it a sin to do so? If you don't like what I do then don't deal with me. I'm no longer brokering animals and only working with what I enjoy. Honestly I don't see the problem here, maybe you could explain it to me?

As for getting my money back it's not to difficult. My Credit Card refunds my Credit and then paypal gives Megan a charge back. Doesn't matter if she spent it or not, she can deal with paypal. I'm not going to pay that kind of money for a B & W when that's not what I wanted or purchased. I did send photos to Bert (agama) and a few other places and everyone confirmed it was infact a B & W. I'm sick of the lies so I'm completely done with this thread. If you want some pics I didn't include such as the nails and so on let me know and I'll go ahead and post them. Other then that Pics and evidence are in place, you be the judge.

Megan it's really not my fault for you getting screwed in your deals. The prices you posted are WAY above market value, even retail value around here. I would have never bought them for more then I spent, which infact turned out to be a nightmare.

Just figured I'd ad I only sent the tegus once (go back and read!). We really don't need mods here as you aren't going to get either of us anywhere. Megan, the first ad matched every other ad you put up! Who ever replies to this message really needs to read through all of the posts because all you keep on doing is repeating the same crap over and over. I say something once, I'm not going to repeat myself. This situation could have been delt with easily if I had been working with someone with a good rep. You live and you learn. The tegus are fine and are "now" in good care.

megan knickerbocker

i am completely backing up megan.
i am currently purchasing 2 black and white argentine tegus from her. The two tegus she sent u are blues although 1 of them is not just a blue but a hybrid blue tegu it has been mixed with a black and white tegu wich sell for 400-600$ each but i understand your confusion as they look very similar

Back her all you want. I ordered 1.1 Proven breeder "BLUE TEGUS" I do NOT WANT HYBRIDS at all! I'm completely against them for my own reasons which don't need to be discussed because it really doesn't matter! This is the first time I've ever heard of this cross. Any animal is only worth what someone will pay and a hybrid to me isn't worth very much. I find this funny....so she really didn't represent these animals honestly! She tried to pass off this cross (which supposedly costs more then a normal blue) as a blue. Why would she do this? I don't know what to believe!

Megan, The fact that you subject your animals to cigarette smoke speaks volumes to me.
I have to agree with this. Reptile in one hand... cigarette in the other.... :no01: It would be a dealkiller on its own. People know what it does to humans lungs, i would not want to imagine the damage on reptles system it can do.

Hi Darryl - I see you just registered a few days ago, WELCOME to the BOI, I also see you are located in Ontario - so I assume Megan has got all the proper import/export permits, inspections and other paperwork done to be able to ship to you? What customs broker are you using?
Be sure to let us know how it goes!
