In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Bad Guy Bad Guy East_Coast aka Peter Jolles

Exactly.

That PDF and the actual time frame don't jive. You had them for more than 24 hours before taking them to the vet. Makes me wonder if you lied to the vet and if the geckos you took were even from Peter.

So I am taking it as I read the letter correctly and it didn't make sense to me either that this thread started on the 17th and the letter says that he received them in shipment less than 24 hrs from presentation...

Is this his way of covering up that he was not a good home for them as it took him this long to seek "vet" attention even though he was SOOO concerned about their well being but too concerned about the money in his wallet to give a crap about the health of the animals...

I say everyone beware of dealing with the OP, not the seller...

When an animal is in need of medical attention, regardless of the cost, the humane thing to do is to seek it... the irresponsible thing to do is to not seek it.

This thread was started on 8/17/11
Vet report written on 8/22/11

According to the report that was written on 8/22/11, OP got these geckos 24 hours prior to presentation. That would mean OP got the geckos on 8/21/11

1. Did OP (Jeff / Pud) lie to the vet or did the vet misunderstand?
2. Now the vet is presented with a dead gecko. Where did the dead gecko come from? I keep reading and rereading this whole thread and Jeff/Pud never said anything about a dead gecko. A dead gecko is kind of important. 5 days from the start of this thread an no one mentioned a dead gecko. Yet all of a sudden the vet was presented with one.

interesting indeed

If this is to be believed then you had the geckos shipped to you on a SUNDAY.

Either you lied to the vet, which is pretty clear IMHO, or you took other geckos.

You guys say what I'm thinking so much better than I do...

Looks like the OP needs to post a pic of the dead gecko... I do hope he hasn't thrown it away without taking some pics.

Ah well glad we are all on the same page with the OP... maybe someone should contact Ms. Melissa Garner and inform her of the situation at hand... I am sure she would be able to shed some better light on the situation.. or clarify her findings

IMO he is lying about the dead gecko......I know if I had gotten a dead one or one that died a day later I would have been on e-mail right away to the breeder, NOT waitung for a vet visit before I dropped that little GEM on the community!
To me, It is suspicious that the OP has a vet paper that pretty much sums up ALL HIS OWN claims about those geckos. Quite frankly I am wondering if he even had a REAL vet appointment. ANYONE can grab a computer and some printing paper and type something up. And it wouldn't be hard to have someone else sign a signature for him. Furthermore, I have NEVER seen a vet start ANY paperwork with "To whom it may concern" That's the beginning of a letter to someone you don't know, and no vet I know of puts that in plain notes for an animal's file! Especially since those notes don't leave their files unless you explicitely ask for a copy.

And where are the headings or other things on that paper? All vets I know, print their notes out with their business name, address and phone number on it. Never seen a vet print something off a computer that didn't have that info.

To be fair here, I don't the most pressing question is when he received the geckos or how the vet got mixed up on that. That could easily have been a misunderstanding.

The question is- what about the dead gecko? Show us pics so we can match it up with the seller's animals. Also, how did the vet figure out the geckos had broken legs? Were they obviously bent backwards where there is no joint or did they do an X-ray?

This whole thing stinks, methinks.

This may be nit picking, but the list of doctors on the invoice does not match the doctor's listed on the website.

http://mobileanimalclinicpc.com/Doctors.html

This vet seems pretty technology savvy, with the website, and it seems to be pretty up-to-date. Heck they have pictures of every single staff member on there. Why would the invoice have an incorrect vet listed?

Again, nit picking on my part, but I felt it was worth mentioning.

I'm not sure I follow this...that vet is listed...

Why no mention of a dead gecko? This stinks...Pud, you got some 'splainin to do!

Yes THAT vet IS listed, but the list as a WHOLE is wrong.

There was a recent thread where a fake invoice was created, and this one looks pretty fishy.

Again, I'm nit picking that. It's just odd is all I'm saying.

-edit-

Again, I'm nit picking that fact. It just seems odd is all I'm saying.

I was a clinic manager for a vet and we updated the invoice heads and website info the instant doctors changed. It seems pretty common practice to do so.

I think the OP has a LOT of explaining to do about the letter and the "24 hr before presentation" comment in the letter as well as some pictures and better back up...

As for the vets not being up to date on the paperwork, though I don't work for a vets office, we have letterhead still from our old location 6 yrs ago, and from our last location and now new letterhead with our new location as of November. I will make note that sometimes people grab whatever is closest and if there is a new person, they may not have known their was revised. The vet that he seeked attention from is however on the letterhead... but I don't think it is sufficient evidence to back up his claims of sick animals...

she typed her in their about the 24 hour notice-I never told i just got them at all-She thinks i didn't but I did not. Everyone here knows that. I had a gecko die last night that Peter sold me but she couldn't do anything him the gecko since it was small and didn't have much blood to give she said. That vet is lisited on the page and if you call Mobile Animal Clinic that is the only reptile doctor they have their. She is also lisited in Reptiles magazine and that is on their letterhead not mine. So as far as i see it she said it was hard to tell that it has bone disease cause they were small. She said some have broken limbs but can recover. So all and all im somewhat right and somewhat wrong. I will not apologize for as few of these geckos will need help. I know im not going to see any money back from this. I just wanted to say what the vet said and put that up here. End of story.

well how do we know those are the ones that you received from the seller and not others that you had??? I don't see any rock solid proof here of your claims about the animals received from Peter

So any decent pics/videos of the alleged "broken" animals? It would be great to see substantial proof and not stretched pictures, of the animals in question.

Jeff, I'd like to see a pic of the dead gecko, and some pics of the swollen joints and broken legs- but pics that we can tell are animals the seller sent you.

like i said earlier im done with the post and the whole transaction. I took the ones their i got from him and not out of my collection. I already know he against going to correct the situation so it ends here. No more time taken on this subject..

just quitting doesn't help you nor does what you posted show that the seller is responsible for the geckos you took to the vet. all you had to do is post pics of the said injuries and the dead gecko that we can positively identify as the geckos that were sent to you. it is really that simple.
