In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Inquiry BallBids.com?

I am beginning to hope this works out for these guys.:rofl:

Why? With all the members screaming about how Fauna doesn't do enough to prevent scammers, the little bit that we do attempt to do is hampered by people that don't understand how the BOI operates.

If they are above board, this can be free advertising, a map to good business practices, and feedback. It's all in how the information is viewed regardless of any "preceived" tones, or attitudes of the posters.

the fire is being shipped from what i know. I keep checking their FB page but they are getting numerous post every minute so got to keep scrolling down.

Lot of good points have been made (excluding the poor practice ones), by very important people in the reptile industry. I personally have not visited the sight because I agree there have been some red flags, but if they clean up their act i might reconsider.

Something they can do to really help their reputation as well as the reptile industry is perhaps make a donation(s) to USARK, NARBC, or something along the lines that directly benifits the Reptile community to help show that they do care about the industry and not using it to make a buck. Also need to clean up their site and husbandy practice to show they are not just housing but properly caring for these living animals.

otherwise keep facing the gauntlet...

"All the members"...put the brakes on that right now. I have NEVER screamed or even talked for that matter, about Fauna needing to prevent scammers. I honestly think buyers need to be very careful.
"The little bit we do being hampered by people who don't understand how the BOI operates" not even sure where you are going with that. I know I have seen TOO many times someone post something and get ripped apart on the BOI. All the time anymore. So talk about "people not knowing how the BOI operates is just silly IMO." We have all been able to read this thread as well as others if we choose on this situation. I have read, listened, thought about, and even saw with my own eyes the early problems. I have made my judgement thus far that I BELIEVE they will do what they should. Auction snakes and ship snakes all while keeping them healthy.--My guess.

You among MANY others have fairly read, listened, ect, ect. through all the same information and have made up YOUR minds. I completely respect that. As a matter of fact I think I said something earlier along the lines of, "Who cares!". Honestly, I also respect you for "trying to save the newbies from obviously wasting their money" but I think people can give it a rest.

Which takes me back to answering your question of "Why?". and my answer is I hope they succeed because people are making pages on FB about them, already.. That is funny to me.

Anyway as I said earlier, good luck to anyone who decides to gamble here and everyone else have fun :deadhorse

It doesn't look like they've made any profit on "selling bid" yet. On the butter if all the bids were bought and not the 5 free bids they would have only profited $1 and the pastel would have lost money. Of course that's if they actually paid what they are claiming to be "retail price"

I actually checked out the site today since I was off work. I find it really strange that it was a lot of bidding on all auctions today and this one person won every auction today. There was heaving bidding today on the Female Albino Ball Python and the bids stop for about 3 seconds and the same guy won. I find it very strange

I was there when it happened, that guys strategy is what won him every auction... He stayed in front of everybody instead of waiting at the last second to place a bid

To correct your math If the bids were all bought, with most people buying the $30 bids for $27 dollars and each bid being worth a penny, they would have made $549 in cash off the bids plus the $6.10 for snake. that would give them a $205.10 profit.

Now if I am reading this right, if you make a bid you pay to make the bid and the amount of the bid. Yes people have their free bids, but due they also have to pay what they bid?

If so the above Albino selling at $4.87 would have netted them $1188.28 plus the cost of all the bids $316.55 if the bids were paid for at 65 cents each not bought in an auction where they make even more. That puts that albino at $1504.83.

Talk about a profit margin! :dgrin:

Talk about a group of people that just collectively poured almost $1500 dollars down the drain.

Profit is even less if you account for the cost of shipping... The "loss" of the other snake and the "loss" they took tonight. But that's if you don't count free bids, and I'm sure there's other factors

Main factor is you are paying for bids. you can buy a million bids and still wind up losing. think of all the mony they are making off of them. What happens if you buy 1000 bids today, use 3 then the site shuts down? Then you are SOL.

That isn't the case of all. From watching all the auctions they had today when the timer is under 15 seconds and someone bids the time jumps back to 15 seconds left on the auction. Well on the Albino Ball Python you have several bidders that place the bid at the same second or no more than 1 second from each other according to site's stamped time(I think it was more like milliseconds but the time stamp on bids rounds it to the closet whole number second) The bidders Joushabradley1, 88Snakes and TheKeeper73 place a bid at the last second. That should have pushed the time back to 15 seconds, just like it did when " nvrgonestop" placed a bid at the last second 20:18:26 and it pushed back 15 seconds. At the same half of a second bidder: vicshell tried to place a bid at the last second bid but time was already pushed back 15 seconds.

If you look at all the auctions the time only goes back 1 4to 15 seconds when the suppose bidder " NVRGONESTOP" bids and then he wins ever bid within 2 to 3 seconds after the last bid.

LOL.... yeah they are having some problems right now.
seems suspicious with the name and all. Something is definitely going on.
Fishy smell has risen but I can't tell what direction it has come from.

On their facebook page, they say they are monitoring individuals and IP addresses.

Funny thing is I have an FB personal page and a business page and I am admin for a couple other different pages. I do not see where we can monitor IP addys.
Either he is lying or I do not know how to admin any of my pages.

They are monitoring ip address on there website. No way there are doing it on there Facebook page. But I highly doubt they are doing that because of a lot of small problems that they can't manage. They basically just threw this site together, IMO

Thank you, that's what I was trying to point out, and he did that for every auction. The Internet isn't perfect and he just waited for something to slip up.

And yes, theoretically you could buy a million bids and never win. But that's gambling, is it not?

Ya I didn't go look at how much the bids cost, I just saw what a statement said on bids being .55 each, but ya if bids are a dollar they are making a killing off those animals lol
