In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Beware!!of Billy Rivers From Copperas Cove, Tx

Now Ritchie, are you insulting my intelligence? I've probed a few snakes and popped a few more in my time!!! Nice one!!
How did you see the hemipenis?
Who probed it?
And did you know that probing a big boa like her won't show a hemipenis?
How did you see the hemipenis?

A friend of mine and myself probed the snake. And it was a male!!

besides being a little puffy at its lower third of its body.
Did this snake have any other imperfections?
Like a nose rub or a chin rub or something?

The "puffy" was pretty big.
A slight nose rub, he didn't have too bad though.

No, no poked hole. It was a legitimate probe!

Now a little story.

If this is the same animal....which I very much think it is.
I adopted that animal.
It IS a PROVEN female. Which means your "male" has had babies before. It has had ONE (1) liter before. (according to the prior owner)
When it came to me I probed it to make sure it was female........and it was.
But since she came I have acquired 4-5 other adult boas. I have also had lots of boa babies and have over a hundred ball pythons.
Long story short.....I had to let a couple boas go for the much needed room. I decided it was unfair to her to let her stay with me. So I adopted her out....with the promise that they will give her a good home.
When she was with me.....she seemed a little puffy at her distal third of her body. She ate good and shed good.
Before letting HER go I probed HER one more time and SHE was still a HER.

Anyway I am saddened to realize that she has since expired.
Now I am thinking I should have just kept her.

Are you saying you sold Bill Rivers or even gave him a sick snake? The snake I had was a male 7 feet long. Was this your snake?

Are you saying you sold Bill Rivers or even gave him a sick snake? The snake I had was a male 7 feet long. Was this your snake?
Where did I say that?

1. The snake I sent them was a little puffy at her distal third. I did not think anything of it since most of my snakes are puffy until they poop.

2. I did express concern that she has not pooped for me in the time I have had her.

3. I expressed concern on her nose rub. I told them it might make her suscpetible to RI.

4. When she was with me.....she seemed healthy. She was active and ate and drank just fine.

5. The snake that came to me (as I said before) was a proven female. ( so how can you ask me if the 7 foot male is my snake? I already said mine was a PROVEN female)

Now talking about something coming around and biting you in the a$$...........this thread is comical!

Ritchie,
Are you being serious? You really did give and/or sell the very same boa? What a small world!!!
On a more serious note, a truely sad situation. Another example, much like another thread on the BOI of people not caring for their animals........and NO I am not referring to Ritchie!

Sad, sad, sad
Brian Oakley

Ritchie,
If you did indeed adopt that snake out and this is how it turned out what a even sadder story.
Too bad you did not read that other thread. And do you have the address for the Rivers'? The old trash pick up thing is still in question.
Sorry, didn't know which thread to write this on.:(

Oh yeah I almost forgot, the snake was sold to me as a female possibly gravid. After probing the snake the boa was a male!!! I did see the hemipenes. So what could all that swelling be coming from since it wasn't a female?

So you probed a seven foot PROVEN FEMALE boa?
And by probing her you saw a hemipenis?
IF this is the same snake.....how can a PROVEN female have a hemipenis?

PROVEN = in this case means she has had a liter (According to the prior owner)

I should not have adopted her if I could not care for her.....my fault.
On the same token......If this is the same snake.....then the rivers adopted a snake FOR FREE and turned around and got animals for her. I gave her to them with the promise they will cover shipping and give her a good home.
D@MN can't help but feel like a jerk. I should have just kept her. She was absolutley one of the nicest snakes I have ever had (personality wise)

Well its obvious that the snake you (gave) or sold to Bill Rivers is and was not the snake I recieved from him. He does have another Female boa that I did try to get from, and she was in very good shape and had very nice markings. This snake I got and it can be verified through at least 3 sources was not the prettiest thing to look at. Also how did your deal go with Bill? Did you trade, sell, what? This will tell a lot.

p.s. I am no saint. I adopted a boa that I months later turned around and adopted out. Meaning........I adopted a boa I could not care for. Yes I am a jerk

The other boa he had he simply wouldn't part with. And for good reason as I could see why. Like I said she was nice.

Also how did your deal go with Bill? Did you trade, sell, what? This will tell a lot.
Dude read.
I ADOPTED her OUT.
Meaning I packaged her up and sent her away. I sent her away to her death like a freakin piece of meat. NO charge no nothing. Just the promise that they would take care of her.

Do you remember what that boa looked like? If so please let me know.

I think our posts are overlapping each other. Your typing and I'm typing.

Someone is not answering my questions

So you probed a seven foot PROVEN FEMALE boa?
And by probing her you saw a hemipenis?
IF this is the same snake.....how can a PROVEN female have a hemipenis?
And how can you see it by probing?

You say you took her to the vet. You mention that the only thing wrong with her was the RI. Well You expressed GREAT concern on "how puffy" her distal third was. What did your vet say about this? Can we see a vet report?
