Also, I wanted to thank whoever gave me negative reputation points. It's stuff like that that made me not want to post on the BOI in the first place.

Kevin I think you have to be a paid Contrib to see who nailed ya.....I may be wrong it wouldn't be the first time....Man I hate being human...kmurphy said:Lynn it tells what post it was for. It may have been Wendy for all you know. If it was for the post where you feel you were doing the right thing, then I agree it was pretty low. The consolation is that no one pays much attention to karma anyway.

Lynn, I don't think people think less of you ....on another note it has come to my attention that one did in fact die so Lynn My humblest apology.ladywhipple02 said:I'm sorry you all feel this way... please don't think so little of me.
Oh Gotchakmurphy said:Bill, I was mentioning that it tells you what post it was for. You don't need to be a paid participant for that. I know she can't see who gave it to her.

Chameleon Company said:Hey Lynn,
I have painted a bulls-eye on myself on more than one occasion in this thread, and was then out of town for a few days. Let me get out the stencil again to re-afix the target.
First off, I would like to thank you for your thoughtful and candid answers to my PM's of yesterday. From what I had read in the thread, I thought that the seeking of a full PayPal refund by the customer was excessive. But I also wanted to get more info from you before I attempted to influence anybody. All that said, I have an opposing opinion to much of the last 20-30 posts or so, based on these facts as stated (let me know if I have them wrong):
1) You stated early in the claim, in emails to the customer, that you would refund $75. You were unable to due to lack of funds.
2) Communications waned, and after no refund, the customer initiated a PayPal dispute.
3) You came to this thread, posting some info, and pointing out that the actual demise of the animal fell outside of your 72 hour "death" guarantee. You did point out that you had been notified of "imminent death" within the 72 hours, and this may have been your initial motivation to refund $75, which you did not do after saying that you would, for whatever reason, but which still left the customer in the lurch.
4) Like many here, you choose to use the word liar in describing your customer in this transaction, and that IYO they are to be avoided based on your experience with them.
5) The customer claims the surviving "female" is a "male".
6) While an earlier post where the customer pointed out that your animals were very well packed and arrived in what appeared excellent condition, this does not preclude one from quickly heading south, which is what the customer claimed. I have had animals that I shipped arrive very well, only to then show signs of stress soon afterwards. IMO its immaterial with regard to your guarantee.
7) This "experience" with the customer includes notification of the pending death of a gecko at about 48 hours, the customer's claim that a veterinary analysis confirming both the presence of high levels of coccidia and confirmation of death as being available, and the customer's impatience after more than two weeks has elapsed since you promised a partial refund? What was the customer thinking ?![]()
Some may want to argue the "technicality" of your TOS, as you did yesterday, that "death" did not occur in the alloted 72 hours, but rather 96 hours. We discussed this in PM, and I doubt IMHO there is a poster here who would not feel that you had an obligation since you were told "death was imminent" within the 72 hours, even allowing for the dispute over actual delivery date. I would like to see how others react who have been in that exact situation as a customer, and if they would feel that they were asking the seller to "cave"?
Lynn, I wish you well, and again thank you for your thoughtful answers yesterday. But in the end here, I feel you only fulfilled your minimum obligation as a seller, with this round of BOI self-indulgence added in for good measure. And you took the long road doing it.
Now, lets sit back and watch the BOI at its serious (cough) best![]()

I thank you for demonstrating the larger point which caused me to cough at the end of my last post.

I feel I have completed this mess of a transaction to the best of my ability. There WERE many mistakes made... I admitted as much. I have taken responsibility for mine.
