BTW, You ever met a used car salesmen you could really trust, I have been looking for a car? But it seems you just can't trust these guys.Yes there is much more to the story. Seems someone don't really know who his/their friends really are. Sometimes it would be best not to talk so much, it would be better to be a average Joe.

That said, it is not the blame of reptile auctions for this happening. But yet another long winded voice in our hobby.

From what I have heard, I will not look down on reptile auctions or it's staff for these actions. More to the story for sure.

It really has nothing to do with your ability to bid on anything or not.Unless they have slapped some other fees in place.It has to be the fee to show you are paypal verified that he is talking about.

John,i am sure this is the fee you are talking about.Sometimes auctions will have that you must be paypal certified in order to bid on there auctions.Now just because a seller shows that they are paypal certified does not mean they are 100% trustworthy.Do your research as you normally would any other time.

The plain and simple is this. I, personally, me, myself, I went out on a limb for a site, not any one particular individual, but the site as a whole. I was told certain things would be certain ways provided certain information was obtained. I, me, myself, personally, through all of you but through me too, got that information, and not for the first time, I'm no hero, no Masked Rider, not by far, I just happened to be the lucky one to say provide the facts and away they go. It was long in the works, long before I came. I merely provided some umph to the movement, irresistable umph as it turned out.

Now they're back. I seriously doubt my previous contact there initiated this move. I seriously doubt it was looked on with favor. which is why I have been at no little pain to not only NOT name someone but to go so far as to not even refer to a gender.

The site smacked me upside the head. I recovered and gave a quick 1-2 back. I don't like having my face slapped unless I've given permission.

No one has had that in quite some time.

Sorry Steve, I can't read your post but I can guess.

I am directly speaking of wendy and her mother, the two from spokane as far as the sellers who were banned and are now back.

What I am also saying is I don't know exactly what process allowed them back, there is some confusion there as far as I know, but my understanding was that it would NOT happen. Something over there changed. That change, it seems, has allowed them to come back.

I have a problem with that, not any one individual.

BTW, I really like the fact that they have BLUE beardies for sale.
If a respected seller had them, I would be tempted to buy one, but since they are listing them, I have a feeling it would not actually be a blue dragon that arrived (or a healthy one for that matter).

Just wanted to add what I could to this thread. I don't know anything about the "Spokane" person(s) in question; however, I did recently have a more positive outcome with the Webmaster with a different scammer seller earlier this month.

I happened to just be browsing through the ads one day, not looking for anything in particular, just looking. I came across an ad that I had a gut feeling about. I read the ad and it was worded in the way a person with whom I had a VERY BAD dealing used to word her ads (there is a long thread here on the BOI about her that I started...a woman named Sheila Topp). I looked at the zip code of the Seller and looked back in my old e-mails. I confirmed it was her zip code.

I e-mailed the Webmaster with my suspicions, along with a brief explanation of the situation surrounding when the Webmaster had banned this Seller in January 2005, just to give a reminder about what had occurred (long story, but it involved me having the police go to her house). I gave the Webmaster all of her known aliases, etc.

Within 24 hours the Webmaster e-mailed me, thanking me for pointing this out (for catching her) because it was definitely the same person, and explaining that she had been banned. I checked and her ads had been removed completely. There has been no sign of her since, but I am still keeping an eye out there, just in case.

I do not know how ReptileAuctions bans people. I guess by IP address, so if someone gets/goes to a different computer I assume they can get a new account. This may be how some people slip through the cracks. The person in question in this thread probably isn't the same situation, but I wanted to at least bring that up.

I haven't listed or purchased much off of RA, or any reptile site, since the Hurricane (Katrina) last year; however, the few transactions I have had on RA since that time have mostly been positive with only a few bad apples, all of whom were dealt with by the Webmaster accordingly.

I'm a curious kind of guy and I'm curious now.

IF the webmaster is who changed things up last time, and I'm not sure that's what the postion is called, and that, for lack of better term, webmaster is the same now as it was both when Aprylla had her positive dealings and when I had my positive dealings, what has changed to such an extent that a complete turnabout has occured?

Cheri kind of knows who owns it, she just doesn't know who they actually are... Howard Fluker owns the site and while it may be registered through Godaddy and he may not have his name plastered all over it- no attempt was made to keep that a secret. The problem Cheri has is that she assumes the Fluker family is monolithic and that the actions of one are the responsibility of all which, if anyone looks into it at all, is patently untrue. She's attributing guilt to everyone and anyone with the same last name because it helps her shove forth her anti-large scale breeder anti-importer social and borderline political views. She's well intentioned in her own misguided sort of way... but never EVER make the mistake of thinking that Cheri S wants what's best for you and your animals and your legal ability to obtain and keep them.

I posted what I did because I've got the same information Wes does... and we were both asked not to jump the gun and to let the people directly involved look for a positive solution. I had enough trust in the person who asked me to stay quiet about it to give him the time he wanted to sort it out... Wes is apparantly impatient and his ill-timed creation of this thread and some of the wording he has chosen aren't going to immediately blow up in the faces of the people who probably deserve it... but are going to land right square in the lap of a damn fine human being who probably doesn't need this kind of aggrivation while he fixes the underlying mess. While Wes himself may not have mentioned anyone by name or title... others in this thread sure hopped right onto that erroneous conclusion and have been spitting agression at all kinds of people because they do not have the background information required to follow the same logical steps that Wes has or, in some cases, the personal knowledge of the individuals (and the quality of their character) involved at the center of it all.

Timelines... are important. If anyone actually shows up to spill their guts, pay attention to the timelines and the time-specific motivations.
