Like you, I do not want to go through this WHOLE thread again. This is what I remember.
When Barry learned of the 'theft' he realized his snakes were stolen. I am not sure when, but at one point he said that he had told the police that he had snakes at Bruce's shop as well and that they apparently were not listed on the snakes stolen. He informed the police of the 'other 4' snakes.
Again, this is how I remember it.
Like you said, if I am understanding you correctly, is that Bruce probably thought he could get away with not reporting them and Barry would never know what was and what was NOT on the list of stolen animals. Bruce (emagine me trying to get in his head for this) probably htought that if they were never stolen that he could get away with 'the perfect crime'......that being that he could take off with 4 snakes and nobody would know. Maybe he did not think that Barry would ask OR that Barry could find out.
One of two things, now, have happened.
1. Bruce DID lose these animals and tried to salvage the only thing he could, this being Barry's 4 snakes (well 2 that have been found).
OR
2. Bruce set all this up like it is coming to light that he has done so in the case of at least 2 snakes. Now the question is which one? Either way, I look at it as a THIEF. He should have never taken the snakes that belonged to Barry (2 that we know of for sure since they were in HIS posession).
The other questions, I would bet we have all forgot about since the news here today, is that Bruce STILL does MANY crooked things.
1. Conducts business as other people on the phone and internet. I know of some people that have come forward to me with some compelling evidence. Maybe after this is all over they will feel safe enough to come forward and tell their story......as a rule of the BOI, which I do repsect the rules of even though I forgot all about them in the heat of everything early on, I cannot quote other individuals.
2. Portrays being his father even though I brought before your very eyes the obituary that I found online and from a local paper in SC that SHOWED (at least said) that his dad (Harry) died May 28, 1999. I woudl highly doubt that a family as a whole would live a secret, sharing to all family and friends and have a funeral and such, that someone died and it not be true. Very sad in MY opinion.
3. Leaves great reason for people to doubt whether they truly own 100% het pieds or not. With the info that has come forward telling how Bruce (Harry or whoever) has purchased great numbers of NORMAL balls at shows and then sells them as het pieds. I believe this to be true because, as we all know, one pair of Pieds (that is all that has been closely proven to exist) can produce the number of babies that have been sold in the last couple years. With an average clutch of, what, 5, and breeding to an average of 2 females a year (this is all IF the ONLY pied that he had was a male mind you) for let's say 3 years, just to finsh my point. This would be a total of 2 clutches a year (10 eggs) X 3 years= 30 babies.
Now, what is the average percentage of hatching? 75%? 80?
I highly doubt, even the best dream of this, that Bruce had a 100% hatch success. I think we are very close to that number of het pieds with the people that have come here, emailed me, or were learned of by other people and places. Just too many to call it real! I could be wrong as this is just my opinion.
4. Bruce signs receipts as 'Harry Eisenmann' and checks have been written on an account with the name Harry Eisenmann on it. Look up the PUBLIC records. It still states that 'Harry Eisenmann is living and is 84 years old! Does that strike you as ODD to say the least? Was the death for real and nobody told the banks and/or agencies that keep records so this way Bruce could continue on in his selling of snakes, tell people (as Harry mind you ) that Bruce and Harry have parted ways. This way anyting that was sold by 'Harry' in the last couple years would not be blamed on Bruce and therefor Bruce would not have to be liable for selling things that MIGHT not be correct? (hets, etc.) Could it all be a scam so, in his mind, he would not be accountable OR is Harry still alive and they made up a fake obituary? You be the judge? If the banks found out that Harry was indeed dead, the accounts would obviously be closed. It has been brought up in the MANY talks I have had with many wonderful people how this can go on. ANYONE can make a deposit into ANY account. Only the check holder can write the checks out (based on the signature). These could be made out to anyone. So now the question is, as I do not know the answer, when did CRE, HCE, and Digital Reptiles come about? Was it before or after May 28, 1999? Was this a way that Bruce thought he could make money and get away with things? I don't know.
5. People have come forward with reciepts that shows "trades" when in fact there was MONIES transfered to someone from HCE, CRE, or Digital Reptiles. This way Bruce (or someone) would not have to claim that money as income and pay taxes on it. Is this a crime as well? I think so.
Too many things have occured, if given time, I would bet that I could put them all in a nice pretty little (ok, LONG) statement like I have here to show how Bruce thought he could get away with all this.
The above are just MY OPINIONS and have yet to be proven correct. As a right of mine, I CAN express my opinions and share them.
