    In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Bad Guy Dan White - Bad service and sort of a thief

I will admit that I can't prove, to strangers on the internet, what the particulars of our transaction were, but I still personally feel that he stole from me. I gave him money, and he gave me something that I can't use and didn't ask for. And he was rude when I tried to correct the matter. So no, I will not be apologizing for calling him a sort of a thief.

If the transaction occurred on the phone and the seller comes here to dispute what the buyer said then all we would have to go on is his word as well. I agree with you 100% but naturally if the seller thinks he's right then he won't take in to consideration that the buyer isn't happy.

Sorry Aaron but I have to agree with him on this one. If you would have made the mistake that is YOUR fault and you can not expect to get worms for free. In real life you send back the worms and you get back the worms you wanted from the seller at your own expense when it comes to shipping. Sometimes the seller will pay for shipping but most times they won't. Especially when he thinks he's right and that he sent you what you wanted.

What did you ask him to do when you called him and told him it wasn't the right order? Did you ask for more worms for free or were you going to ship the worms back and get the right size? Or did you simply want a refund(In this case you would have had to ship the worms back anyway)? Elaborate please.

Well that is your choice. However, it's a bit hypocritical of you to state earlier in a post that "even if the mistake had been yours he should still send you more worms" but then take such a hard line stance in your assertion that he is a thief...

You can have your cake, or choose to eat your cake, but really you can't do both...;)

It might have been rude for him to treat you wrong but calling him a thief when trying to get your point across and trying to prove a point is no different.
 
It was kind of weird. I never got the chance to ask him to do anything. I said I'd ordered med superworms. He said I'd ordered regular ones. I said no, I hadn't, "I have been trying to get medium superworms for a while now, and have contacted many other sellers." He said, " I'm not going to argue with you. And I'm not going to replace them. You could buy some more if you want." that was his offer. He didn't even offer to split the cost with me. I can see him not sending free worms to everyone who said, "hey, that's not what I ordered." But he didn't even try to compromise. Basically said, too bad. And offered to let me send him more money.
 
aaron, thanks for this post, everyone seems to want to crucify you because you made a deal over the phone and have no "proof" of the transaction between you and their friend. he obviously wants no attempt to make you happy over $11.00. i would have posted just as you did. you ordered a product and paid for it. you recieved something else. sizes are pretty much standard here in the midwest no matter what show you attend.

LOL, hostile? Trust me, this is not me being hostile. I'm merely asking questions and replying to what you have posted. And no, I had never heard of the guy before you brought this to the BOI.

Just because you may not agree with what I am asking or typing doesn't mean I am being hostile or a troll. You brought this incident to this public forum, I'm just participating as I see fit.

Here is a post from the only other BOI thread on the Cricket Factory. Just doesn't seem like the same guy:

I just had my first issue with an order from Cricket factory. In the extreme heat we've been having, I just got a cricket order in where most of them were dead. I told Dan about it in order to have him place a "hold and contact" order at the post office as it was in no way his fault that my carrier drove around all day in 115 degree heat with my crickets sitting in his mail truck.
To say Dan fixed it would be an understatement, he not only replaced all the crickets at his cost, but is now packing them with cool packs at no additional charge. I'll do business with him forever!

I'm interested to hear seller's side of all this before reaching any final conclusions. We've only heard one side of this story.
 
It would be rude not to notify them. It's just the right thing to do so the person that the thread is being posted about can come and add their side of the story and hopefully defend their self. ;)

All of your rules on posting should be able to be found in the stickies and such on the top of the BOI section.

Then why didn't state that in the title of your thread instead of "sorta a theif"? I think that's the reason most people are responding in a negative way to you. I know that's how I responded.

You could have titled your thread: "Bad Guy Dan White - This is how I was treated." or something along those lines. However, you dig in your heels that he is some "sorta a theif", when we all see now that your upset how he treated you. Big difference= theif/bad customer service.Also, you are posting imaginary telephone conversations you had with him, but have not offered one shred of hard evidence, i.e. emails. I know, I know, you talked to him by phone, we got that, but anyone can say anything, but there is only one side to this so far, I'm awaiting his response and I can bet he's going to say, "I wasn't rude, or that wasn't how the conversation went at all". Then it's left for us to decide who was at fault.

Again Randal. I see your point that I haven't proven in a court of law that Dan White has stolen from me. And you feel that I shouldn't call him "sort of a thief" unless I have some kind of smoking gun. And I agree with you that if he shows up on the forum, it will turn into a case of my word vs. his. But is this kind of situation really that uncommon on BOI? Why does this seem to offend you so much.

Also, I don't appreciate you calling my phone call imaginary. It's pretty much like calling me a liar. We've never met, and you have no first hand experience to draw from. You are just calling me a liar because you don't like me. I said Dan White was sort of a thief because I feel that he stole from me. What would you call someone who took money from you, promised to deliver a good or service, and delivered something else?
