In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Debra Dillon of Camlon Reptiles (Bad Guy)

So Jason? whats next...you posting your bearded dragon price list? :shrug01:

This list of testimonials carries no weight as to you posting a bogus bad guy thread.

Jason,

You can post as many glowing emails as you like, but the measure of a "business-person" is how they handle the ones that go wrong, not the 99% of transactions that go right. That's why I made the point about you. You were too quick to come here and whine about someone who told you to take a hike after you accused her of padding her shipping charges.

If you don't realize by now that you are simply digging a deeper hole with each and every post that you make then you are even more dense than I had earlier suspected.

Be a man, apologize to Debra for starting this thread, and move on along.

I immediatly appologized to Debra for poorly stating the shipping issue in my email to her. Do you feel she should say sorry to me for throwing me out? Just curious, your answer should show where your intentions ly. I have agreed with most of the posts however, you keep attacking me personally. Why are you so dead set on continueing to call me "Dense" for answering your repeated attacks on me, which by the way are completly unwarrented. You have given your oppinion and as long as you keep replying I will also respond to your statements. So keep them coming and I will do the same, if you want this thread to end then be quiet please JimO.

I have went as far as stating that I should have labeled the post (rude guy) or probably put it in a different area for debate. My mistake. However it doesn't change what happend only what my reaction should have been. I now agree that I should have placed this thread in a different area labeled rude person. What else do you want from me. I won't appologize first as she was the first to be rude and has never given any feeling of remorse for being rude to me. If she did so I would quickly appologize for the whole thing and put it behind me. I will not be the first to appologize when she was the first to be rude by throwing me out and assuming the worst of my misworded shipping question.

I keep referring to you as dense because you are dense. You accused her of padding her shipping charges. She told you politely not to call. She was politely declining your business. Nowhere was she rude. It is her prerogative to do or not do business with whomever she chooses. She chose not to do business with you and politely told you so. That point has been made to you by more than several people but you are so DENSE that you keep thinking it was rude of her. As for apologizing, yes you apologized for insulting her with your accusations but you need to man up now and apologize to her for starting this thread.

Now do you get why I keep referring to you as dense. It's because you are. And as for this thread staying active, once again, the point has been made, but I'll use your style. Maybe you will get it through that dense skull of yours.

I hit submit before it was finished.

WHO DO YOU THINK IS BEING HURT BY THIS THREAD, YOU OR DEBRA?

If you all look in your hearts and put yourself in this situation, you would not be a happy camper either.

Been there, done that.. moved on.

I've been shot down by other sellers before due to my lack of experience when i first got into this hobby.. All that you needed to do jason was send her your apologizes and let it be. You've done the first.. now work on the later.

Just walk away from the thread, let it die, and worry about the more important things.

Hey All

Just to let you know , I bought a Ball Python from Jaremy at Striking Serpents about a month ago , and he can verify that when he told me Fed-Ex was going to be $75 I immediately asked if he was correct or not because it seemed a lot higher than usual. No big deal , paid it and have my snake.

So Jason I can see where your coming from . I have also talked to Debra once last year about a snake I was selling and she was really nice to me.

I think you both too far to one extreme , just got blown out of proportion a bit. I hope this works out good.

God Bless

Derek

I live about 30 min south of Camlon,

And my last shipment send FedEx was a 1200 gram female het Albino Ball, that was around $120 to ship.

Dave

Wow talk to your reps, my shipping with fedex and I am certified is ALOT lower and I hardly ship anything out. I have never had any charges over $75 eaver. I have also done business with them but when they just started out with leopard geckos and have always been top notch since then. If anyone ever asked or questioned my shipping I always looked it up and gave them the run down. Shanell.

When people question my shipping charges, I just give them my zip code and the box dimensions along with the links to FedEx and UPS. That's usually all it takes, and suddenly they are pleased with how much I charge. It's amazing.

I think FedEx either raised their rates...

or, the Adult female Ball was just alot heavier than the babies I am used to shipping. I also insured her, and did the earliest delivery possible, by 8am. I do not skimp on shipping, just part of doing business.

Dave

I really think the only thing left to be added to this thread, is an apology from the original poster to the accused for creating it.

It's been said many times this is not really a BOI issue. Yet it's 93 post's long, and less than half are on topic.

Wasn't this Potential Customer Service? He (Jason) keeps going on and on about how bad the customer service was. He wasn't a customer. He hadn't purchased anything from them, yet.

I don't think that they overreacted at all. If someone had implied that I was intentionally overcharging them for shipping, I would take it offense to it. It would be comparable to someone calling you a scammer, liar, and thief.

Just because you didn't get the animal [insert your way], Jason, that doesn't constitute a bad person.

Since I agree that this thread should never have been started, I hesitated to pop it back up to the top but the statement in bold really bothered me when i read it several days ago. Since I have been inactive in posting fore the last several weeks, I assumed one of the other regulars here would be of a like mind and comment on it so I left it alone. I just read through the rest of the thread and realized that several people have made similar statements. That is even more disturbing

Let me state for the record that I think Camlon did nothing wrong. Her response was a little intense but was not rude or unprofessional. I also do not think Jason did anything overtly wrong. He made a logical assumption that a flat fee did not necessarily reflect the actual shipping charges in total on HIS particular transaction and inquired about it.. His wording on the question could have been better. I have dealt with him on two occasions and both transactions went off fine.

That said....

I would honestly be interested in knowing what kind of customer service the original poster of that statement in bold above has been exposed to. If what you wrote is to be taken literally, then any clerk at any retail store has the right to treat me or anyone else like crap until we actually purchase something. For those of us who have been around in this industry for a while, the reality is that if you want to do well, your customers are treated as valued customers from their first inquiring Email. You do not begin to treat them with respect just because they have pulled out their wallets. That is one of the last pieces of a transaction. How many good guy posts have touted the treatment that someone received prior to purchase every bit as much as the quality of the animals?

And just something to chew over...a few months ago there was a thread here that illustrated a very similar situation to the one in this thread. The only difference was a matter of degree and the fact that Camlon was polite and professional. In that particular thread, the seller was handed his ass. Does the name Jolles ring a bell?

Again, I feel no real wrong should be assigned on either side of this transaction. Time to jump down off my soapbox. I will now retire again into the shadows.

John,

I agree with all that you say here. The difference is the nature of the response. In that other thread the response was more than rude and clearly spoke to poor customer service, even for a potential customer. That other thread was borderline for the BOI and could well have been posted in the General Business forum without name as a way to solicit opinions. This thread belonged in General Business at best.

I am in 100% agreement Jim

John I alluded to that thread earlier and I agree with both you and JimO, it is worth talking bout if someone wants to move this thread or start one over there...Randy

They way we treat our 'potential' customers can mean the difference in them becoming customers. On the flip side, I have turned down many sales for various reasons, and in reality we really don't need a reason to refuse a sale. I don't believe this particular situation warrants a 'bad guy/gal' thread on the BOI. Debra Dillon turned down a sale, and that should have been the end of it.
