In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Bad Guy Don't buy from LLL.reptile

In my opinion it sounds like you are the unreasonable one... I have bought both supplies and animals from them as well as feeders and have always gotten terrific service. They offered you a credit based solely on your word and that wasn't good enough? As unfortunate as it may be some times animals get sick and don't show any signs of it until it is too late. If enough animals pass thru your hands you are bound to end up with a sick one once in a while and it doesn't mean that you did it on purpose. Like I said, to me, it sounds as though you are the unreasonable one.

I've Always bought from LLL and my reptiles are doing great I bought my retic, male burm and sulcata on their site and all have been in good health i guess its upon the persons opinion

I just wanted to say I think its Ironic that this was posted to discourage ppl from buying from LLL, but after reading everything, and LLL's responce, I personally want to buy from them seeing the lenghs they go through to make sure the customer is happy, even if they have no real proof of the problem. And I agree with Tiger Lilly, if you really didn't want another animal, you should have spent the money on supplies. :D

in response to ash lopez...

as I said before... If you deal with enough animals there are bound to be a few sick ones that slip thru.....
My advice... to anyone that recieves a sick animal from any company or breeder....
1. If you recieve an animal that you suspect of being ill your first step should be to contact whoever you bought it from and ask them if they would prefer you to take it to the vet or send it back immediately?
2. Your second step should be to take several pictures of the animal just incase you neeed them in the future for a thread like this.
3. Lastly, you need to be as professional as you expect them to be regardless of wether they actually are or not. This means no swearing at them, no calling names, no threatening with ridiculous courses of action. Doing these things only ends up making you look imature and unreasonable and will make others weary of selling anything to you for fear of running into make believe problems.

Keep in mind that if you recieve an animal that appears to be sick and you take it upon yourself to take it to the vet it is not reasonable to expect them to cover the vet bills unless they agree to beforehand. In many cases, especially with larger companies, sellers have vets that they know and trust with their exotics and that may even give them discounts for bringing in so many animals. This means that it is quite likely to be more cost effective for them to have you send the animal back for a replacement. In short, let the professionals deal with the sick animals and don't take matters into your own hands unless you're qualified to do so.
Basically try using the noodle in your noggin and have a little not so common sense and you'll avoid much heartache and headache.

I wasn't completely satisfied from my purchase from LLL.
In my situation I bought a pair of snakes, requesting a male and female. I ended up with two males. Both snakes were healthy they just didn't suit my purpose at the time.
I have no problems buying supplies from them but if I am needing a particular sex of a animal then I will buy it else where. However, if it doesn't matter and they are fairly priced I would buy from them again.

Whenever you make a claim you should always show proof of your side or it is all hearsay. and is not admissible as evidence on the B.O.I :shrug01:

Yeah...... This happened in 2002 / 2003.

I have moved since and probably lost the reciepts.

However....I can contact the vet and ask for my history.

I originally asked to return the snake after the first vet visit and they said they cannot take back animals.

After numerouse amounts of vet visits and reciepts they finally said they would credit me $200.00 of the $300.00.

Of course I cashed in and got a baby blood python for $200.000

I would be stupid if I didn't.

By then I was into the surinam for about a grand.

I'm not saying they wheren't NICE about handling the situation.

I'm saying that when I first got into boa's my first experience was Horrific !

I encountered...... Necrotic tail tip, worms Bad,bad case of respitory infection and mites that my blood python got.

I was forced on the fast track to learning about reptile diseases and proper husbantry.

I had to learn how to shoot my boa with antibiotics daily and how to battle mites, treat the tail and the worms.

I have not since got anything from them.

I did see a blood python at the San Diego Reptile show Foaming at the mouth and was in Full Blown Respitory ifection.

I told one of the attendants and They later put a piece of paper over the enclosure to cover the window.

There are a lot of people that had a good experince with them.

I just got Really,Really Bad Luck.

not trying to bust your balls but why would you keep your new blood python near a snake that had mites anyway? your sick snake should have been kept in a seperate quarantine

I was BRAND NEW to keeping reptiles. I had been a keeper less than a year.

When I brought the Surinam home I didn't know he was SICK.

More blind accusations

LLL guarantees sex of their animals. They guarantee the health of their animals if they are captive born. Getting mad and not being totally satisfied with any seller isn't good enough to smear them online. the very first thing you do is contact them by E-mail. get some response. get it in writing. record every e-mail from your initial inquiry to the point of no resolve.
Take pics. get proof from local breeders or vets then come here. I have seen this board do incredible things when someone is ripped off. I just do not believe anybody here has proven anything.

Thanks to all who responded - all of us at both stores and our warehouse very much appreciate it. We work extremely hard to satisfy everyone - but it can't always work out in the end. Snake sexing - we are probably 99.99% accurate. But not a single soul on earth is 100% every time. I have seen some of the biggest, best breeders miss them. If you had requested a pair, and received two females - that would have been a head scratcher! Sex is always guaranteed, and again, that is unbelievably rare.

Again, thanks to everyone. Even the few negatives were actually polite! Nice to see. And I can't agree more with whoever said - if you have nice comments (about anyone on the BOI) - don't reply to an old negative thread. Most every larger breeder or company has negative threads on this site..... Start a new one or find a positive one and show your love there!

If anyone ever has any questions on anything from us, call us 7 days a week at 888-54-Reptile. Happy herpin!

While I am a new member to this forum I do feel that as long as your not being vicious you can at least share your experience.
If you look at the posts that talk about "good guys" it is mostly peoples experiences not proof.
If I was dead set against a particular company or breeder, you better believe I would come in with guns blazing.

No Harm No Foul

When people come and share a good experience there is no harm to the seller.
No harm, no foul. When you come on here and tell 50,000 plus members and guests that LLL can't properly sex their animals, that can harm their business.
When did you notice the mistake in sexing, did you call LLL and try to rectify the problem? any E-mails? proof? I have never purchased from them but I have called and spoken with their reps on the phone and at the hamburg show and they have been helpful and honest about the sexes of the animals they had. They could have easily sold me a male when I wanted a female but both times they were honest and told me they had only males.

I didn't notice the mistake in the sexing for probably about a month later. Also, I purchased the snakes at a show and on the receipt it says all sales are final.
Perhaps they may have worked something out with me I didn't even try. Needless to say when I found out I had two males I was upset.
I can try to dig up that receipt but at this point I am no longer worried about it. When I am asked about my experience with LLL I will tell who ever the same story.
IMO, I am merely cautioning people to check their animals over.
If you want to keep questioning me on this send me a PM and we can continue this there.

I purchased a ball python a couple years ago, sub-adult male. I was told that sexing is 100% guarranteed, the guy I talked to told me if later down the road it turned out to be a female, they would trade me for a male. Thats good business. I have done lots of business with LLLreptile and will continue to do so.

WHY WOULD SPEND $300 ON A NORMAL BABY BALL PYTHON THAT IS WORTH MAYBE $25 RIGHT NOW SOUNDS A LITTLE HARSH BUT THATS JUST STUPID ,IF I WAS THE VET I WOULD FEEL BAD ABOUT TAKING YOUR MONEY.

I wish that was the same policy for the chameleons LLL Reptile sells. I was told the same line as above, last dec 2010 about your panther chameleons being 99.9 % accurately sexed on the phone before LLL shipped me the wrong sexed panther chameleon . I guess I was the .1% . lucky me I got a female chameleon that was marked male on deli cup and male on the invoice. There was no guarantee I was told due to being such a young age and on sale. You learn who to trust even if you are that .1% and don't get taken care of.

I LOVE LLLReptile!! I bought my incubator, racks, animals, etc from them and I love them. I have yet to use the credit they gave me from one animal that died, but I fully intend to this spring!

I like LLL. They have good customer service. I have not bought reptiles but have bought supplies. I recently bought a gallon of beardie bites and expected them to be "bites"( like the last gallon I bought). But it was uncut and a pain in the butt for me to deal with so they gave me a credit for another cut gallon or whatever else I want.
