Well Peter, it appears to me you are trying to shoot the messenger for the message that is trying to be delivered to you. Yeah, I know, this site I created is a "joke" and "worthless" and all that rot. I've heard that story before, and quite frankly, I think it is more a telling of the people saying it than an actually telling of the worthiness of this site.
As for your claims of not doing this for the business, that certainly rings false to my ears. You have a paid commercial account on another site in order to advertise, so you spent MONEY in order to do that. Why? Someone tried to haggle the price with you but you got offended that someone wouldn't want to pay you more MONEY for your animals. Why? I think MONEY was at the root of your displeasure in that event. Otherwise why would you CARE about how much you sell your animals for?
Personally, and in my opinion, I think you jump to the wrong conclusions with litte or no provocation and are quick to anger. TOO quick, I believe. What this thread is trying to tell you is that SOME people do not like your attitude when they try to be one of your customers. Instead of taking heed and listening, you prefer to lash out and call everyone names who DARES not appreciate you as you "are". Maybe what you "are" is not suitable for what you are trying to "do".
Suppose when you were in their shoes buying and asking questions, you were treated the way you are treating them? How would you have liked that? Matter of fact, you did buy from me a few years back, and if the roles had been reversed in this below transaction, how do you think YOUR responses to me might have been different from mine to you? At what point would you have considered ME a "time waster" and blackballed me from your site? Which from re-reading this evidence, I guess I probably already AM blackballed by you.

Peter,
Thanks for the order!
I expect most of the orders to be ready to ship around the first part of
August. Once your order appears to be about ready to ship, I will contact
you and we will set up a shipping date at that time.
Thanks again!

Hi Rich,
I thought I clicked "20% deposit" but it says "Payment in Full" at the bottom of the receipt. If you have not run it yet - please just hit my card for the 20% deposit now - and we will settle up in August when the snakes are ready.
By the way, I have a few '02's and several '03's from you: everyone is thriving and doing well.
Thanks,
Peter Jolles
Peter,
Sorry, but one requirement of the 2004 50 percent discount is that the order MUST be paid in full. Please advise me on what you want me to do under the circumstances.
Thanks.

Rich, sorry to be a pain in the ass (I should have seen that stipulation).
Listen, if you can "hold" the order and put it through on 5/26/04 (next Wednesday) or later then that will work for me... Other wise, I will have to say please throw it away and I will roll the dice and see if you still have the 2004 coupon available on 5/26/04. Basically, I want to NOT have this show up on my credit card bill until my NEXT statement.
Thanks Rich - and just let me know. I remember seeing last year that you had like 6,000 eggs so I know you are busy so please - know that I did not do this to be a pain in the ass.
Peter Jolles
Sure, I can do that. Please send me a reminder then, though. Got a lot going through my mind lately....
Thanks.

Subject: Rich, you sent them to the wrong address...
I checked the Fed-Ex number and it says they are going to Frederick, MD... that is my home address. My shipping address is 6741 bay xxxxxx drive glen burnie,md.
ahh man! this is not good.
Peter Jolles
It appears that you have the same zip code for both your Frederick and the Glen Burnie address. I sent the box addressed as you had it listed on the order form AND you also said in your reply email that the shipping address as listed was correct. I am assuming that the 21701 zip code is for Frederick. If I were you, I would call FedEx in the morning and see if you can straighten out this mistake.
Peter, I am sorry but I just can't try to verify the information that someone gives me to determine whether they made a mistake or not. I try real hard not to make my own mistakes, which sometimes I do fall down on. But I just take it on the chin and move on, hoping I do better next time. BTW, FedEx may very well charge my account an address correction fee, which unfortunately I will have to pass on to you. Honestly, I do try to do the best I can with this stuff, but there is only so much I can do.....
Please let me know how if goes.

Rich,
Obviously I made a mistake. You should not have sent the box. The zip code is wrong -and you knew it. How could you knowingly send out a box of live animals to an address that you know is wrong?
I am sorry that you "can not take it on the chin". Really, you should not have sent the box - I kow that you are busy - but so am I. Please, pass on the additional cost: I would not want you to miss out on any chargeable costs...
I can't believe that you knowingly sent out a box of live animals to a messed up address.
This is the second year in a row I have ordered from you (actually the third, I bought a bunch of snakes from you at MARS in 2002). Sadly, this will be the last year.
I will call Fed-Ex (because, in my opinion, you were too busy and couldn't be troubled to alert me to my error). Would it have killed you to email me and say, "Peter - your zip code is screwed up"? But Rich, please - be comforted in the fact that I told you the address was correct: morally you are in the clear so if the animals die it is my fault.
I can't believe this Rich.
Peter Jolles
Peter,
It is amazing to me that you believe that I intuitively know where every zip code in the USA goes to and that I would know that your zip code is wrong. How would I know this? How was I supposed to know YOU put in the wrong zip code? I have thousands of snakes hatching out, have orders going out every day this week, trying to juggle them all to be accomodating with everyone's schedule. Why do you think I sent the email asking everyone to verify their shipping address?
Sorry you feel this way, Peter, but if one of the requirements of someone for you to do business with is that they are psychic and can look into their crystal ball to tell when a customer has made a mistake, then I guess I have failed that test. But good luck in finding someone that can meet your criteria.
BTW, I called FedEx a few minutes ago and they told me you have arranged to pick up the box at the Hagerstown FedEx office. I am sure the animals will be OK.
But in any event, Peter, sorry you feel this way.

Rich, No - I know that you are not psychic. My problem with this whole situation is that, even though I emailed the address to be correct there had to be a "red flag" when you put it into the system for a pick up. The zip code did not match. You had to have known that I made a mistake.
That you would continue to ship it without setting it aside troubles me. Further, your quip that you would pass on any additional cost to me also pissed me off. I don't give a crap about the additional money: I am worried about the hatchlings - but it seems that you are worried more about your own profits instead of #1: the snakes, and #2: the customer.
Yes, I am going to Hagerstown to get the snakes so everything is fine. No, I will not be buying any more snakes from you. I know that you do this as a business, and believe me, I respect what you have done ~ all the snakes I have gotten from you are just as advertised. It just puzzles me that you could have become so "jaded" to the well being of your snakes and to the satisfaction of your customers.
But, no hard feelings and I am sorry for being out of line.
Peter Jolles
Peter,
Go online to fedex.com, fill out an airbill and see if it tells YOU there is an error in the zip code. It does no such thing. I print up the invoices the day before shipments so I can pick out the animals overnight. Then I print out the airbills from fedex's online system on the afternoon the boxes will be picked up by FedEx. The system does NOT compare zip code information with the city. There is no way I could have known the zip code was wrong and the fact that you believe I SHOULD have completely amazes me. Just what is this "red flag" that I should have seen? I had no idea there was a problem wit the zip code until YOU emailed me about it. The box was on it's way then, so what the heck did you expect me to do about it at that point? I didn't get a copy of that notice that was sent to you, I only get notices of delivery. I was packing up 7 other shipments along with yours at the same time. If you think this is easy, keeping things straight as it is, then try it sometime.
So if you want to get this attitude of yours about this, then so be it. That is certainly your choice to make.

They (Fed-Ex) need you to fix this.
I told Fed-Ex that you are too busy and can not be bothered... so, don't worry about it Rich. Please make sure to pass on the additional costs to me.
Peter Jolles
Peter,
As I expected, FedEx charged me $10 for this snafu. Please forward this amount to me when you get a chance.
Thanks.
Rich Zuchowski
Just to note here, that Peter DID pay me that $10 at the one of the later Mid Atlantic Shows I met up with him at, and he did apologize for his attitude in this discourse. That being said, Peter, THIS site is NOT joking when it tries to point out things about YOU that future customers are not all that enthusiastic over. Take it for whatever it is worth to you.
