In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Info Edwin Sanders - Dragon Fortress

well tom imo, the dif is your dont need to go the xtra mile and do all that bc your rep is what it is, other then the ed clark deal your 100% clear, your animals speak for themselves, in edwins case he has a few things on here he needed to clean up and take care of to prove to other ppl he cleaned his act up, if he did then thats great bc no one wants to hear about a dead dragon...so like i said good luck and just let us know what happens.

My rep is different here. I do my sales here. Just as Edwin does his sales at the shows, his rep is at the shows. Also one big factor is when your selling your animals at reptile shows, your dealing with more in-experienced people. ALOT of "first time" reptile buyers. You still encounter them on the web. But not nearly as many. So your more prone to "issues" with customers.

Oh alittle something else, Edwin's breeders and mine are mainly from the same breeder. ;)

dragonluver83 Oh alittle something else said:
lol yeah tom i know who it is, im not tooooo dumb, but from what i hear, you guys supppposedly share who the breeders came from, you dont do that many shows and actualy breed all your own stock, id be shocked to find out if he actually even bothers to breed anymore....he does alotaaaa hustlein an tradin to do them shows....if he sells his own bred babys ill bet its a minor part of the amounts he sells....think about it

Well i dont "share" anything. I am not a breeder loan type person. Very few animals come in here and very few leave on a "loan". we just have some of the same line stuff cause of who we purchased them from.
He does do alot of hustlin, but I do know he still breeds his own stuff. Percentages i do not know.
That's just it. i dont breed multiple animals and i dont like trading. I hate quarantining things. Edwin will go through the extra effort and work. I will not. Thats why i wont do shows.
But to the worried customer, I would not be worried.

I would like to add some things for clarification. If anyone has any questions as to my breeding methods or the amount of animals I breed, you can feel more than free to ask any time. Just FYI, I am actually working with a people that I have help set up with breeders (so I know where they come from and what they have) and then I buy the babies back from them or trade them so they can get more high end dragons. I can only breed so many animals, and with the amount of animals that I go through, I cannot meet all the demand with what I breed alone. I have produced a little over 1500 babies so far this year, and have purchased dragons or traded the people I have set up with breeders for their babies, and I give them better animals to breed. This is the only times I make any trades or purchases is with people I know and have been dealing with. I did not know it was a problem to make trades at a show and sell animals, I was under the impression that was the meaning for their entire existance.

As far as my guarantee, it is in place for several reasons, to ensure the customer is well informed on how to take care of the animal and also if there is a problem with the animal that they contact me right away and not other breeders, vets, family members, etc. Although I do this, it does not seem to eliminate all problems unfortunately. My instructions are not always followed. This is why I try to work closely with anyone that buys a dragons and has any questions, concerns, etc.

When someone purchases an animal from us, they receive a receipt, a guarantee activation sheet, which states they are going to go on to my website and read all the care information and guildelines, and then send me an email with their information stating they have read the information and understand or they do not and why.
They also receive a hatch certificate, a DF drawing to hang up with their animal, and general care inforamtion to hold them over with the animal until they get to read all the information, and egg shells that I hatch the dragons from.

All of our animals are guaranteed for at least a 14 day period.

All animals adapt to changes in environment, etc differently. I can only help ease an animal into these changes, but I cannot control this, all I can do is stand behind my animals, and I believe its a matter of what you do when something bad happens that defines you and your business ethics. You cannot control bad or unfortunate things from happening.

We stand behind our animals 100%. We back them 100% and there is no one out there to my knowledge that can tell you differently. And yes it is hard to deal with first time beardie owners, but we have certain guildelines, care information ,etc that must be followed, but as long as this is done (and sometimes when its not) as said before, we back the animals 100%.

Well now that its been a couple weeks just thought I would do a follow up post. My girl is doing great, she eats like a champ and is very alert and active but calm enough to hold. My daughter could not be happier with her new pet. I know Edwin probably wont be doing anymore St. Louis shows as he mentioned they were just out my way when there happen to be a show going on but if he does I will buy a more high end male to pair up with her in the future. I think Edwin did a great job with the customer service and products he offers and will not hesitate to send friends his way.

On Oct 2nd my niece and I purchased a baby dragon about 8 weeks old from DragonFortress at a local expo. We were assured that we would be assisted with any problems and to just call or email and there is also a 15 day guarantee with the animal. When we came home we immediately registered the animal with him. This was a saturday. By monday we were concerned because the beardie was having trouble adjusting. We tried to email both email accounts that were given to us expressing our concern. By this time the dragon was not eating and became aggressive. We called the phone number given several times and left messages. Finally, after a day, we received a very vague email, basically saying to leave the dragon alone for two weeks and to not mess with her too much and then after that time to try to hold her again. This was Tuesday oct 5. No where was the issue of her not eating addressed. On wed, Oct 6 we expressed again that she was still not eating no more than on average 1 cricket a day for the past 5 days. Still, the lack of eating was not addressed. We even enclosed a picture of her emaciated body. we only received 1 email a day. Never returned any of the probably close to 10 phone calls. I started received from my account too because my niece was not getting any response, and I was basically told to back off because they were handling it between them and my niece and it was getting too confusing.
We paid 80$ for this dragon, and received no help for anything. After our dragon DIED, Tuesday, Oct 12, 10 days after the date of purchase. We were smart enough to not throw away the dragon after she died, because a day later they responded to our email stating she died and requested a picture of the top and bottom of her, and after that was fulfilled we would receive a phone call.
Thursday Oct 14th (2 days later) my niece received a call directly from Edwin (on his cell phone). He had NO IDEA of the problems we had been experiencing. Had no idea about the several emails exchanged, because he has "someone else answering emails". He tried to sound professional and like he was going to handle everything. Although she asked for a refund he said he couldnt give one because we got the dragon at an expo, but we could get a new dragon since we had credit. Funny though, I'm fairly certain his website says you can get a refund.....
It took for our dragon to DIE before we could get a phone call from anyone, when we had been trying to call for 6 days.
We went ahead and dared to try and get another dragon from this joker, and we picked out one we liked. He said he had to check to see if it was still available. We were even talking of places we could meet because he said it had to be in the Lancaster area. We live close by, and that was a suitable arrangement. We were trying to get this problem resolved as quickly and painlessly as possible. That was Sunday morning. It is now Monday Oct 18 and we have yet to hear back if the dragon is available, or anything more. We have called, sent pages to his phone (since his voicemail is loaded, and that is what he instructs to do on his greeting) and sent texts. This has been a week of trying to set something up to get a new dragon. But still have no clue if the dragon we want is still available. It is very difficult to do that when he never answers emails, pages, phone calls, voicemails or texts.
If trying to make a customer happy is what he is trying to do.... THIS IS NOT HOW TO DO IT. This has been the ABSOLUTE SLOWEST RESPONSE TO CORRECTIVE ACTION I HAVE EVER ENCOUNTERED IN MY LIFE. THE WORST BUSINESS DEALING I HAVE EVER ENCOUNTERED!!!
We (my niece and I) completely understand that there are some bearded dragons that do not transition well when relocated. That has not been the issue. It is the absolute lack of help from everyone involved in this. I am so tired of seeing my niece get her hopes up of getting another dragon, just to watch her get shot down every day. It is bad enough she sat by and watched the first dragon slowly die for a week and have absolutely no support or help thru it from the people who promised us when the dragon was purchased "If you have any problems CALL we will help you the best we can. If you have ANY problems CALL. We are more than willing to help you anyway we can. We will even exchange the dragon if you have problems." Truthfully, I just want this over. So very tired of the BS run-a-round.

wow, bestill my beating heart...yet ANOTHER unhappy customer of edwin with yet ANTOTHER dead bearded dragon. and another shock, he didnt respond to any emails, or calls, texts....this is why you should read the BOI before buying from someone. if theres minor complaints or maybe only 1 or 2 tops i would still say hey maybe its just messed up situation, but in edwins case as far as multiple people on this thread alone and others....this is more along the lines of uhmm average? way to go dragon fortress another unhappy dead baby dragon because all you care about is how deep your pockets are...

Honestly people, i have purchased multiple dragons from dragon fortress... all of them are still alive. if you are having issues you may want to look into your own husbandry... yes producing a weak dragon happens. turns out that about 10% of a clutch will not reach maturity... if this happens to you, they replace it. you know what most people do... NOTHING. you need to get over yourselves when you can produce as many dragons as they do and have no complaints you can say something, till then get over it.

Glad you have had good experiences with Dragon Fortress. However, telling people who aren't so lucky that it's their own fault and to "get over it" isn't really helpful here.

This issues in this thread are not so much that the dragons died, but that they received zero follow through in terms of customer service. If a company offers a guarantee and then avoids honoring it, that is a major problem.

In reviewing this thread and others, this seems to be a common trend with this company. That is the issue here.
