I never said it was OK to "hold" someone's money without permission. I said you were petty to think about $5 worth of interest when Ken indicated that the matter was resolved. That's called trying to stir up more crap when there is none to be stirred.

Interesting spin. I did graduate medical school in 1984 and retired from medicine in 2001 as I have made abundantly clear. So yes, I am a doctor, never said I spend any time at it, unless you count doing some real estate investment consulting work for health care organizations, at (you guessed it) $300/hour. Money well spent seeing as how I did make some wise decisions allowing my retirement at age 41. As for being a landlord, well yes, yes I am. But that occupies 1-3 hours per day maximum as I am very efficient and have good people working for me. I never claimed to be an accountant. You asked if I would do your taxes. Anyone can handle the 1040 short form that you file (like the short bus that you rode to school no doubt) and I am always happy to lend a hand to a fellow herper.

I don't doubt that you believe it's right or that you are entitled to that belief, but that doesn't change the fact that it is petty. Unless...$3-$5 is that important to you in which case the short form is likely what you are filing.

As for the short bus comment, well...my 10 year old can format paragraphs and sentences, and use capitalization appropriately, better than you can, and she can spell about as well as you do. My 15 year old daughter writes with a great deal more skill than you do. That's not intended as an insult but merely an observation. The short bus comment was insulting and I do apologize.

As for my "accomplishments", they are usually mentioned in context as they have nothing to do with herpetology. If you don't believe what I say do a simple google on James M Ohlstein MD and you will find lots of outdated hits. Since you are doubting my credentials, here they are: My Massachusetts license was #56657 and was allowed to lapse in July 2003 as I had ceased practice in 2001. My Virginia license was #01011232886 and was allowed to lapse at the end of May 2004 for the same reason. I graduated cum laude from SUNY Downstate in May 1984. My internship and residency were served at the old Boston City Hospital from 1984-1987. After that I practiced in Lowell, Massachusetts until 2001 and had an office in Westford, Massachusetts as well. My main affiliation was with Lowell General Hospital where I was chairman of the Department of Medicine in 1993-1994 if memory serves correctly. All of this can be verified as it is all a matter of public record, as are my real estate holdings. If you are really bored I can give you the addresses of as many properties as you like and you can verify my ownership online.

None of which changes your opinion that Ken should have received $3-$5 in interest, that Chris likely would have paid it had he been asked, and that Ken could give a rat's ass about the last $5. And that, my friend is why you are being petty. See, no one else cares about it. You stand on an alleged principle that borders on cheapness, just as with the $7 worth of week old waxworms that you kept trying to find a reason to fault LLL with when so clearly the customer had no reason to expect a refund, nor was she even looking for one. Once again, an example of your petty (yes petty) insistence on someone else getting money from someone they are not looking for.

Oh, and if you don't like negative reputation points, don't say things to earn them, and don't retaliate like you did.

Just incase we'll we waiting the two weeks to release your order for shipping to be certain your payment clears. No offence, we have a business to run and do not enjoy getting hit with negative balances. It's nothing personal, just a precaution anyone would take after seeing something like this happen with customer. We're still getting caught up from our shipment delays due to the previous weeks of unusually warm weather anyways so its not a surprise as we discussed previously. Once everything clears and such I'll be sure to post it here for you in the form of a good guy thread.

Did he just make another PayPal payment in the form of an echeck? Was he expecting shipment -or- was shipping already arranged prior to the funds clearing?

No, it looks as if it was an instant payment. If it were an echeck there would automatically be a hold on said funds...... for obvious reason. But sometimes when making an instant payment it depends on the source of the funds. Just to be safe since we were waiting to get caught up and shipping orders on a first come first serve basis I think its safe we wait just to make sure everything is kosher. No offence to Chris intended... Just covering our bases.

I just spoke with Chris via PM moments ago and he sent a screenshot copy of his end of paypal. The payment he sent was a 'cash' payment directly from paypal funds, and also howed a positive balance after the fact. I have no worries our transaction will be flawless. Just thought I'd update.....

No, Chris should not have tied Anybody's money up for a month and should have felt obligated to compansate above and beyond the initial refund.
