• Responding to email notices you receive.
    **************************************************
In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

FRGRASSO Bad guy, sent me a dead caiman, has given no response

You CAN ship caimens USPS as long as they do not exceed 20 inches in length.

Wow......baby cornsnakes can't be shipped USPS, but a 19" baby caimen can, because they aren't nearly as dangerous. Who woulda thunk? :shrug01:

Don't you know snakes are SCARY :D :D

Well, just because this guy is an Animal Control officer, does not mean that he has any relationship to the SPCA or ASPCA other than getting those return address labels from donating to them. I'll be interested to see what this guy has to say, in any case he should know better than to ship an animal that way.

I was just reviewing some of the past posts of Mr. Grasso and found this one very interesting. In this post, Mr. Grasso says all crocodilians are illegal in NY State

Mr. Grasso himself states in this post that all crocodilians are illegal in New York State. I bet that is why his registered information shows him to be in Eerie, PA even though he is really in NY.

I recieved this email this morning from the Mayor of Lackawanna. He says that Fred Grasso, Animal Control Officer, is NOT the same Fred Grasso that sold me the dead caiman. Here is his response.

"Dear Mr. Navarro, Fred Grasso, our animal control officer does not live at 13 Apple. I checked that address and there is a man named Fred Grasso that lives there but it is not the one we employ as our animal control officer. Please correct your staements as you are slandering an innocent man. I have also called our Mr. Grasso to show him your e-mail and will then send him to 13 Apple to check out what is going on. Mayor Polanski"

Mayor Polanski must have his head up his ass. Slander is spoken, libel is written. In this case it would actually be cyber-libel.

----------
The difference between slander and libel is that libel is the written or otherwise published, public defamation of a person or entity such as an organization or company, while slander is the spoken false defamation of a person or entity.
-----------

Send the Mayor another email and ask him if he's good freinds with former Mayor Marion Barry. He'll know what you mean.

Yeah, I don't understand how it's libel or slander if it's clear that there was a question if it was the SAME PERSON. Same name, same city, but the posts did not claim the guy who sold the caiman was definitely the same person as the animal control officer.

"It may be the same person" isn't the same as saying "Fred Grasso the Animal Control Officer sold me a dead caiman". Someone in public office should know better than to throw around legal terms incorrectly.

To give credit to the mayor - he does mention that he is sending the Animal Control Mr. Grasso to 13 Apple to see what is going on - he may not be good at differentiating libel / slander, but at least he's not totally out there! :)

At least it's not the same Mr. Grasso.

Note to self... when sending out illegal animals, make sure you pack them correctly, or at least answer your customers emails if something happens to the animal, or else you'll get Animal Control at your door :NoNo:

I'm sure your just kidding, but animal control at your door is the equivalent of a meter maid trying to ticket you for speeding.

USFGW are the people who I'd be most worried about because when they get done with you...you wouldn't be able to keep a stray fly in your home.

I, for one, find it hard to believe that there are two people with the name Frank Grasso that are both involved with animals in a town of this size.

Population (year 2000): 19,064.
Estimated population in July 2005: 18,175 (-4.7% change)
Males: 9,152 (48.0%), Females: 9,912 (52.0%)

Seems like too much coincidence to me.
At the very least, I would think that they are related - father & son maybe.

I did a little snooping (legally) and found there are 3 Fred Grassos in the Buffalo area - one is 33, one is 58, and one is 88 - so it is possible that there is some type of relation there.

:iagree:

Too much of a coincidence for me.

I'll let y'all know in a couple of days if I hear anything back from the mayor or any of the Fred Grasso's involved. I too find it to be coincidental, but hey, weirder things have happened. If I get no response from any of them, I will forward it to their local paper and see if I can get one of them to bite and see if they are telling me the truth about it being different Fred Grasso's.
