In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Hello. My name is WebSlave and I am a Kingsnake.com abuser.

Huh? What Feedback Forum? That really ticked me off... after going on about how everyone should use that forum for their comments about what was going on, and insisting it was a place for opendiscussion, it just up and disappears with no explanation.

Hmm, it's probably because you wrote BIO instead of BOI. Was that a typo, or did you change it so they might leave it up? Either way, I guess kingsnake has nothing against bio's... yet.

Well, if you want to have a subtle post on KS, my advice is to NOT say anything about it here or on Rich's other site, cornsnakes.com. The reason for that is because there are those who lurk here and report whatever they see to KS personel.

I don't say that with any sort of a paranoia, but with personal, proven experience. It is also not limited to these sties either. Fieldherpers.com also suffers at the hand of these moles.

It's no big deal really. Just don't say anything here that you don't want KS to know, that's all.

;)

Wow, talk about a blast from the past! I hadn't thought of this thread in a long long time, nor do I go to KS and haven't in a very long time.
Fun times.

Ah, I remember it too well. It's one of the reasons Debbie and I never paid for a KS account as we refused to help pay for an egomaniac, douche-bag's censorship. He can DIAF for all I care. I'd rather lose money in this hobby than to grease that a$$-monkey's pockets. Obviously his site got "clintoned in the bewbies" a bit over 4 years ago. I wish that I was in a financial position to set up and operate a site which resembled theirs, welcomed and encouraged open traffic with Fauna, and could be run with the same class as this site.

BTW, if anyone wants to write the grants, donate tons of $$ or otherwise make this possible then I'd gladly welcome the challenge. I truly believe that it can be done without the "crazy biatch" rules and Homeland Security-like BS that is now being perpetrated upon users. Let's be honest, it's easier to get your passport and exit/enter the US under the new Gov't regs than it is to jump through hoops to post ads at KS.

It is indeed a sad weekend on Fauna when a post such as the one above can generate 6 warning points from 3 separate moderators (or members who paid their $250/yr. and rec'd the additional privelage) over 2 days. Notice that I am not naming the people who chose to ding me with the points nor am I going to argue in open forum about whether or not they are or are not deserved. I simply take umbrage with the excess and am posting this simply as a warning to all who read it in the future to curtail any language which might be construed as offensive to anybody at any time. I have not notified WebSlave nor do I intend to since I believe that the individuals involved should rectify the excess of the situation on their own. Anyone who cares to see for themselves simply need click on the number beside the warning level to the left to see how things have been addressed.

Remember that even in a thread like this there are some aspects of the KS era which we seem destined to deal with even in open and productive forums such as this one. One of those being that too many people have access near total power and there is an old saying about power that should always be remembered. Not everyone needs, nor deserves, to wield power as it can be used to generate wrongs when attempting to "do the right thing."

David, If your feathers were ruffled, please reread your post #110 that generated warning points.

Do you think its the proper way to speak about someone on an open forum by refering to them as A$$ Monkey or "Crazy Biatch".

Think about it. :)

Ed,
I have re-read the post numerous times. I have also been given warning points by 3 persons already (talk about double jeopardy.) I explained to you privately exactly why I used the term cited above with the 2 dollar signs and did so in detail by breaking the phrase down. Proper, perhaps not and while I argued my case when the first 2 warning points were issued (just like I would if I thought I had been cited for a traffic violation incorrectly) I accepted the judgement and let it go, at least until I was dinged twice more for the exact same post.

As for the "Crazy Biatch" part, even the FCC lets that one go across the public airways via radio when it IS referring to a sexual partner. This time, however, it was not directed at an individual, but rather rules which I personally believe to be the creation of a megalomaniac who is borderline certifiable. A simple reading of the post shows that the work rules follows the quotation marks without any words or other personal indications being given.

I am sorry that you, and others, were offended by something in such an ancient thread. One of the people who gave me warning points suggested that I might actually be able to "edit" this post since it was a relatively inactive thread and not on the BOI. Either that is not the case or else my current web-browser does not pick up the programming feature which would allow this.

Web shorthand for "die in a fire"

Seamus,
Thank you. My personal opinion is that it should only happen while surrounded by his servers going up in flames as well. It is my personal opinion that while the the herp community would suffer a minor set-back it would rise from those ashes with renewed vigor and in much better shape than it is today.

David

/my apologies for having an extreme personal dislike for an individual that so many seem to hold in such high esteem.

David, the fact of the matter is that 40 some people(if I have the numbers right) can give you a warning on that 1 post if they choose to do so. :)

Now, or at any point in the future, if they feel it is appropriate.

They can, however, only give you points for one particular post once.

Exactly. However, if approx. 40 law enforcement officers were to cite you in your community for a single and same driving offense, you would be more than a little indignant and shouting "foul" at every opportunity. Not to mention that no judge in the US would allow it to stand (not to mention members of the law enforcement community wouldn't allow such a gross miscarriage of justice to be perpetrated on ANY violator of a crime.) It is this singular issue that seems to present a problem here on fauna as too many people are able to issue warning points with what appears to be minimal (if any) oversight. My offense was a singular "PROFANITY" and had been addressed just like a single offense of speeding or failure to wear a seatbelt would be addressed by a law enforcement officer. However, regardless of the fact that my initial defense of my words failed and I accepted the points and was unable to alter the post, I keep getting dinged. This thread seems to be getting a bit of traffic now and if nothing else perhaps it is useful to other fauna members, who haven't been named moderators or paid their dues which give them the inherant privelage to give warning points, to learn exactly what is and what is not.

There was a time when an apology meant something. Do I have a personal dislike for JB @ ks.com? Yes. Did I state it strongly and perhaps inappropriately in my posting? Yes. While I can not apologize for personal feelings, I do apologize for the strong wording which has been viewed as profanity by more than one individual (and these were tempered words used in expressing my opinion at the time they were written.) Yes, for those words and phrases, I apologize.

David
(still wondering how many others of the possible approx. 40 are still going to ding me with more points)
