    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

High End Herps (Inquiry)

High End Herps was rather confident when we did not have anything CONCRETE proving he was not a corporation.

all we had was, he was not able to, or chose not to, prove his business status to Kingsnake.

But now that we have proof that he is not a corporation and is nothing more than a LIAR... he all of a sudden has nothing to say.

he says we can't come up with a single customer that he has scammed.

But technically..... every single customer he has done business with, while using the name of High End Herps INC..... have ALL been scammed.
They all thought they were buying from a reputable COMPANY.
They did not realize the guy they are buying from.... just woke up one day and decided to pretend to be a company. :rofl: :rofl:

Damon I am laughing at you and not with you.

But I will tell you this. if you really do think that your name is David..... then I feel sorry for you.

Must be hard to try and change your name legally huh ;)
Must be hard to register your business under the name of David.... specially when David is not your name. :rofl:
 
Hey folks.

Thought I'd help to clarify the questions about someone REALLY claiming the High End Herps business name.

I recently did a lot of research into starting a business. These rules apply in New York state, but should be fairly similar across the country.

As for business names - there can exist (and they do!) several business with the SAME EXACT name. To register a business name in my county, I need to go to the county offices and look in their "Big Book of Registered Businesses". My new business name need only be slightly different than any currently listed.

I asked this specifically of the business services person who was helping me... "Does my business name ONLY have to be unique in the county? So, if there is another business somewhere else in the state with the same name, is that ok?" - the answer was that "Yes, your business name need only be unique in your county."

This becomes messier when a business begins opening branches in more than one county/state. Your business name needs to be unique there, as well. Which should be no problem as long as your business name is sufficiently unique.

Copyright laws are a different animal - one company with a name similar to another, who is making a product that is very similar to another, and tries to use the confusion between the companies' names to profit, that's when one company can sue another for copyright infringement and other things. The other thing is that copyrights are not automatic - you need to submit proper paperwork to copyright your company's logo, trademarks, brand names, etc. Patents are another beast, as well.

Louisiana might have slightly different rules - perhaps a business has to have a name unique to the whole STATE. But, if it follows rules like New York does, if someone were to go right now to the same county/parish as Mr. "David" lives, and were to register the High End Herps name as a DBA (aka sole proprietorship "doing business as" name), well then, Mr. "David" would be out of luck. The business name was never his, so he has no claim to it. But I bet he'd move again, or probably just rename his fake business.

Guess what? Getting a DBA doesn't cost MUCH at all. Under $200 in most places, I believe.

Another thing - if he were to continue to use the High End Herps name on his website after someone else registered the name, the person who registered the name could sue him for misrepresentation on his website. As in, claiming he is High End Herps and trying to sell animals as that company, when he is not that company. At the very least, his web host would be forced to deactivate his site.

Anyone in Louisiana got a few extra bucks or want to ask their local county/parish government about getting a DBA?

I don't know about the whole"is he or not the person he says he is" but i can say i have bought from him. I got an Albino Retic from him in 2005. He set a payment plan up for me and always stayed in touch with e-mails and pics. He always answered all my questions the day i asked them. Not sure why he hasnt answered some on here but as far as my transaction, it went very smooth. I probably wouldnt bought from him if i read all this first but glad i did buy. I'm sure i will get heat for this but alot of people have done stuff in the past that they dont want people knowing about. Most people try to cover their tracks and start over. Maybe thats what he is doing. All i know is my snake was great and i'm in another payment plan with him for a 10' albino tiger. So far so good. Thanks for reading.

It's one thing to have a past history and be upfront and attempt to start over with a clean slate. But to go out of your way to lie to people about who you are and run an illegal business all the while trying to con people into thinking you are an honest person running an honest business. there is NO way to justify that kind of dishonesty. That is NOT starting over. That is nothing more than being a low life scammer out to cheat people in one fashion or another.

I am sure everyone is glad that your transactions have gone well. I also agree with the entire concept of turning over a new leaf and starting fresh. However, that is not what Damon is doing. He has adopted a false identity, the most recent in a long list, and is also attempting to bolster customer confidence in his dealings by fraudulently calling his business a corporation. He is guilty of both stealing and doctoring pics as well.

We all have baggage in our pasts. I am sure there are things all of us have done that we would prefer remain private. However, false identities and lies are not the way to do it.
 
Wraith, i do agree with you. NO ONE should lie about who they are. I am sorry if i made it sound like i thought it was ok. Its not. I was just saying hes not the only one who may have a past. Some may say i am showing its fine by buying from him again. I was just saying OUR past and current deal was a good one. I'm not saying hes a good or bad guy because i don't know as much about his past as some people claim they do.Ask yourself this...If you bought from him before all the MAYBE's and it went great, would you buy from him after this?

Jokes aside, I don't think Damon would be able to right all the wrongs in this hobby, we all have seen he has not even tried. That said, it is wrong to live a lie, bottom line.

Since you and he are good terms and you have no reason to dislike him why not ask for a copy of his liscense (business). With you being a customer he must provide this. Right???? I really doubt it cause he doesn't have one. I personally don't care what he did in the past, mine isn't perfect. But i don't go running around trying to be someone I am not. I also don't tell people I am a corporation when in fact I have never attempted to start a business. I don't doubt that he cares for the animals in his possesion but i don't disagree with the misrepresentation of them. I know i personally would never do any of these things because i don't claim to be honest I am honest.

I would personally not because IMO he would have lied to me. I would have thought i was buying for a company when in fact i would have been buying from David. I am not saying that i would not buy from a person but i would be more cautious buying from a person and a lot more relaxed buying from a company.

Shaun, I would ask him but i will wait untill i get my snake. Like i said before,i dont know him like some say they do. Lets say its ALL true. If i ask and he gets mad, do you think i will get my snake or a refund? Not if everything is true. You have to see my point on that.

Your missing one thing. I personal don't care about his past. The part I have a problem with is claiming to be something he is not. A LEGITIMATE BUSINESS when in fact they aren't registered in any of the 50 states. If he would come clean and take responsibility for his actions this would be over. these are the problems I am having..
he doctors pics to make the animal appear to be more than what they are.
He claims to be a business and is in fact not.
He claims snakes that he has purchased from other breeders as snakes he produced
He side steps questions that are very simple to answer.... this in fact is the reason this thread is still going.
I am glad your transaction is going well and I hope he doesn't screw you over for posting here. I wish you luck in any future transactions you may get involved in with this man.

Here, I will do it for all to see.
David, there are alot of questions that do need answered. We have never had a problem and deals went great. To be honest, I am sure i will by from you again. If you come out and answer things straight, everyone could move on. I hope you will do so because I'm sure you loose buyers because of it. I hope this doesn't cause a problem with our dealings. Just answer the questions on the table and go from there.

Hey Rick, to whom do you make your payments? How, exactly, do you write out checks or money orders? How, exactly, do you pay? What type of reciepts do you get? Do you have a contract with david/damon/brian/josh/hannible? If so could you post a copy of it?

Do you have ANY paperwork for this deal you're currently in or the one you've already completed?

We paid by money order to Tawny. I assume the address was their house. I will have my girlfriend check .She is the one how handles our money. We pick what we want and she sends the money out.I do know that she puts tawny's name on it. Not sure if thats how she spells it but how I wrote on the only one i made out. As far as a receipts, he sends me a e-mail and balance due. Like i said, I will have my girlfriend post the stuff.
