• Responding to email notices you receive.
    **************************************************
In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Bad Guy Horrible experience with snakes at sunset

I agree, that at this point in time, SAS should communicate with the OP on the status of his order, whether it is a refund or they are shipping today.

While I don't agree with the OP's approach, he does deserve a response.

The problem is I didnt get any reply from them!!!! till now!!!:shootfoot:shootfoot

You said that with your own words that they did contact you!

YOUR OWN WORDS HERE:

Here is the record of the messages I sent by using the message system on their own website
Snakes at Sunset Said:

we will send you pics over the weekend, and ship monday for tuesday? that work?
Please send pics today
23rd Oct 2014 @ 7:40 AM

So yes, keep shooting yourself in the foot. No wonder they haven't answered you. You were being a very obnoxious person with how often you emailed them, and how OFTEN it was after hours. A normal business does not keep hours after 5 maybe 6pm. So you emailing them at 10pm & 1am and expecting a response is insane!

Slow your roll, and give them time to answer you. At this point, if I were them, I'd give you a refund and put you on a BLOCK list to never get inquiries, emails, phone calls, or ANYTHING from EVER again. Your money is not worth it, nor is the grief you give by just being a customer. :ack2:

AssinJunranpd;1769054]Still no reply, no message, no e-mail, no refund what all the defenders here gonna say about this? LOL. You guys need to shut up unless you want to pay me the money back or let snake at sunset pay me the money back[/QUOTE]

You are in no position to, rudely, tell anyone to shut up.
Not everyone is defending SAS but, instead, are pointing out your inane, "over the top", behavior and how that approach can have negative effects. Unfortunately, it seems you do not "get it" and, apparently, have not learned from it.

I haven't read through all of this and I'm not going to because quite honestly I don't need to. I pride myself in customer service but if you were my customer I would fire you sir. Try to keep in mind that just because a business has a website for the convenience of the customer that can be viewed 24/7 doesn't mean they don't have regular business hours in which they physically do business. You sent money before ever corresponding with the seller, and you decided last minute to order this animal from someone you have never dealt with; those are your first two mistakes. Did you ever consider that the person running the business had other customers ahead of you, and that their entire world may not revolve around you and you alone. I understand you wanted what you wanted when you wanted it, but the total lack of planning is on you not the seller.

I agree with sincitydragons and other posters. The OP is behaving very immaturely. Plus you're expecting communication on a weekend. You posted several times over the weekend that you haven't gotten an email.

Why would you expect a reply over the weekend????

Not saying I agree with how th op behaved but from what he posted they said they would send pics over the weekend and would ship Monday but still have not (if they have it hasn't been reported here) sent the pics like they said they would and didn't ship today nor confirmed a refund. Even if the op behaved like a sane person and didn't send message after message the seller still hasn't done what he stated he would.

At this point, if I were the seller, I wouldn't bother, and would have just refunded. But I doubt the OP will chime in as to if/when they get refunded. The OP is hell-bent on trying to make it seem as though no comminication took place, when clearly they did answer, though it wasn't to the OP's liking.

exactly.. perhaps the OP isn't aware of the BOI posting rules that are REQUIRED by FC administration to be read *before* posting a BOI? They clearly state that civility is required.

telling all the 'defenders' to 'shut up' really crosses the civility line, doesn't it? :shrug01:

Personally and professionally, I would avoid this Junranpd (Di Pan) like the plague myself. He (I am presuming) filed an abuse claim with his email service about the automated notices he received by being subscribed to this thread.

Guess he got his panties in a hard, tight wad when this thread didn't go the way he wanted it to and figures it's the site's fault. I pointed my server people to this thread with an overview of the vBulletin messaging system functionality and they are going to forward their assessment of his claim to his ISP for their review. Hopefully they will decide they don't want to have anything to do with him neither.

I'm toying with the idea of banning his butt, but I'll chew on the idea for a few days while waiting to see if he has any more nuggets of immaturity to add to this thread.

In case it has confused and misguided you, that quote was originally from Junranpd, NOT Pasodama. Pasodama merely botched the quote syntax.

Arghh, apparently the syntax being quoted even screwed up MY post.... It's becoming a spreading virus now!!

But in any event, concerning the "civility" concern, it takes much worse than simply telling someone else to "shut up" to trigger an infraction. The protocol here is that if you STRONGLY believe a rule has been violated, then notify a moderator via the "Report Post" function. They will take care of it if they feel an infraction is warranted.

*facepalm*

just getting used to the board etiquette ie whats tolerable and whats not (ie i got 2 infraction points and some bad forum 'karma' or whatever this site calls it)

anyways, wonder when the vendor of interest will reply to this rant, if ever..

There is definitely one thing I see that no one at all has addressed.

"They are open over weekends and should check daily" "Stopped responding after Thursday"
"Send pics over weekend" Etc.

Just little snippets for reference.

A plausible theory:
One person answers the emails, as is standard for most companies. It tends to prevent confusion. This person mostly handles shipping, though maybe helps on Friday with pre-weekend preparation(anyone that has ever been to a retail store should understand that). So Monday-Thursday this person touches base with all emails, etc. and makes notes for the other employees on what to do over the weekend.

I could imagine the note for this particular customer being something along the lines of "Please take a few pics of these animals and send them to (customer's email) so he can choose. I will read the response when I come back in Monday morning so we can prepare it to ship."

Employee takes his time to get the pics and proceeds to email them but notices the conversation (however one-sided it may be). Notices keywords like cancel and refund so decides to not send the pictures(as would I) and responds to note:
"This guy is crazy. We did not ship on Thursday so he wanted to cancel the order after sending a few emails. Then he sent more. And then a few more."

Email answerer guy comes in Monday and sees what was written on the note and now he has a very red palm print on his forehead.

Of course, we haven't heard from the OP to know what the email answerer guy said today, but I suppose that is something we can only ponder about.

Kudos to you, Mr. Email-Answerer-Guy. You have truly given all of us a topic to enjoy whilst at the same time put us all back on the watch for less that desirable customers.

:)

Just how I feel this could have VERY EASILY happened. Not bad communication. Bad timing.

Why would you expect a reply over the weekend????
Because they are open for business on Saturday from 11am to 7pm and Sunday from 12:00pm to 5pm.
If the OP did not receive any reply today he should contact his credit card company and start a charge back. SAS is fortunate that the OP has done such a good job of making himself unlikable. Based on my experience, they would have been just as non-responsive if he had been calm, cool and professional.

Sorry!

I dont know what horrible experience the OP is posting about as we emailed him in regards to the Rhino Iguana(which are awesome by the way). Told him pictures over the weekend, as we take our time when we can to fill every ones picture requests, as we do try to do it for our or future customers. Some people order off our site with no pictures needed, others request pictures of certain animals for certain looks. Just skimming emails today, its about 28 individual requests for pictures. We take them all as they come in, but when backed up, we take an hour or two on the weekend to take individual pics for everyone.

I was kind of excited to see 6-8 messages through our website contact page, and then saw all were from the OP requesting things that we already discussed about by emailing them the "over the weekend" pictures and shipping for Monday.

When Monday came around, we opened the messages to mark them as read, and saw there was almost 12-16 from the OP and saw he requested fast pics, and shipping for friday arrival. We could have done so, but he says we dont post our phone number, and he couldnt call. We dont check emails or messages on site 24hr/7days a week. Apologize for this, as we could have done it for him, and depending on weather in ROUTE to him, we might have been able to ship Thursday. Monday was much better option, and we also said for the pictures we would ship Monday after he chooses which one he wants.

Sorry for the long thread here. We would have gladly helped him out in either case, and even called the OP Monday to see if we can text him or email him pics and if he still wanted the iguana after we read his email about canceling.

We will GLADLY refund him as soon as I can log in to the back end of our site, and send it back to him. It takes aprox. 2-3 days for your bank or card to accept it back.

by the way, we do post our phone number on our website, as well as google listings, etc...and in most of our kingsnake ads as well I believe.

I sent them a notification of this thread via the email form on their website. I also requested that they reply to me.
It will be interesting to see if and when they will reply, as a recent post on another one of the threads about them here makes a point of their good communication.. I'm also monitoring my spam folder (OP did you look through your spam folder?).

I received a very nice email back from them just now.
