    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Sorry gang, but that just is not our job. Our effort here is to try to provide you with the tools necessary for you to all do your own homework and make your own decisions about who to do business with. And who you should likely not. We cannot hold your hand in that process, and provide guarantees for your safety, as we would be operating nearly completely on hearsay. We would be making serious decisions based on other people's claims (who in reality we don't know from Adam), which can be either true or false, and therefore acting as both jury and judge on everyone posting within the classifieds based solely on those allegations.

This would set an uncomfortable precedent in that if we were to ban people because of the above mentioned hearsay, then we could quite likely be exposing ourselves to legal liability because of the assumption then made that anyone who IS posting classifieds here most therefore be deemed BY US to be safe for YOU to do business with. We could therefore then possibly be legally liable for YOUR losses and damages because of this presumed safety implied by such actions on our part.

Sorry, but there just is no way that we are going to go out on that limb.

If you find someone who you desire doing business with, then I strongly suggest that YOU make ALL possible efforts to protect yourself in your business transactions. It just is not wise nor prudent to rely on (much less, ASK) someone else to do this footwork for you.
 
This is a thread about Howling Gale Bearded Dragons...the side discussions need to be taken to an appropriate discussion forum (scammer activity, prevention of same, etc are probably best placed in the Fauna Feedback Forum).

I knew that responding to those posts here would probably result in this situation, but I didn't want it to seem like I was ignoring the issue.

understandable its not your job. But is it not important? guiding people on where to post, what they say, how they say it? the mods are pretty quick to catch something outta place. But to let a scammer keep on scamming.

Also there isnt to much "hearsay" in this thread. i believe there is proof of photo shopping pictures. than claims not to have any experience on photo shop and a camera, than Jamie from diamond den finds a thread from another web site that was Nicole posted saying she can do all this digital work. She works with photo shop and etc...... Its bull crap. and to let it carry on, isnt right.

Harold that was my last off topic post ( even though half of it wasnt off topic) an if there isnt anything anyone can do about her crap business, (or anyone else's) there isnt really a need to start a new thread.

I can't believe this... I just bought a dragon from here that was allegedly her male hold back and I had the exact same experience, I think she is shipping different dragons than pictured. I had almost the exact same conversation with her. This is just crazy!:iagree: My dragon was a gorgeous looking hypo citrus on her site but came to me as a gray creature. Color did change a little but he looks nothing like the original pic!

This is horrible...I can't believe she's still selling her dragons with such bad reputation.

Instead of posting pics here as requested,I would encourage you to start a whole new bad guy thread on her....They need to start being racked up..People need to see how this woman screwed multiple people over...Scum like her really aint good for this site...
 
Mr Nolan - the preference of this site, as stated in the Rules for posting on the BOI, is that existing threads be utilized whenever possible...there is no reason to start yet another thread about Nicole, especially when the member has already posted in THIS one.
 
I second that. I checked out her site just now and it makes her look like a fabulous, honest breeder...but then you see her on here altering pictures and being and all out bad sales person.

I wonder what people would do if they saw these threads about her before seeing her site and rushing to buy.

I love the BOI.

I will say this, for the sake of impartiality. (Mind you, I'm not siding with Nicole, and would personally never purchase from her for several reasons). Look at this from the mod's perspective, or if you will a court's perspective. There is no concrete proof that she altered pics. Do I believe she has, yes, but that is my opinion based on the information posted in this thread. Yes, it's been proven she knows about photoshop. Yes, it's been shown that the picture has been opened or edited with photoshop. But there is no absolute proof that she altered the colors with photoshop.

The BOI is here for US to use it as a tool, to help all of us become better informed about the good and the bad out there. It isn't here for the mods to hold our hand and tell us who is good or bad. It's a forum that is here for US to use, not to be spoonfed who the mods decide is safe to buy from. The mods are here to try to make order from chaos and save us from ourselves when things get out of hand, or send those packing that refuse to play by the established rules. Ultimately it comes down to each reader and poster, using the information obtained in here to make informed decisions on purchases and sales.

Does it really matter if she photo shopped it, or her supposed web guy? Not in my book! IT was STILL photo shopped.... she knew that animal didnt look like that. So for her to even let it be posted knowing that animal doesnt look like that. Isnt right from the start. Its almost as good as her doing it her self. Even though i am pretty sure no one altered it but her.

It just doesnt make much sense that you can get banned from fauna for not typing your full name in a b.o.i. post, but people that disgrace the herp world like Nicole did, on Fauna. Get no kind of punishment... It basically says "hey dont worry about it, you can keep doing it"... Cause really what will make her stop? She's been caught before and she's still doing it...

Then where's the line get drawn? Do we vote on who we want banned from the site? Do the mods just go with who they believe is guilty? Do we ban the people that we're pretty sure are scammers? Do we ban the ones that take money and not send animals? Or send dead animals? Or just have really bad customer service? What about banning someone you're "sure" is a scammer, only to have the BOI discover the buyer or OP is actually the scammer, or a disgruntled employee. Then what. Our sincerest apologies to the banned party and an invite back?

I realize the frustration, believe me, but you have to look at it from the site's point of view. They're here to give US the tools to decide who to buy from and sell to. Not to play judge and jury. Not only does it possibly put them in legal liability making those decisions, but it also becomes a matter of how much is enough, and when does it go too far?

The site sets rules, to try to keep this place somewhat fair and ordered. It doesn't decide who's a good or bad seller, that's on all of us, the reptile community. We have the BOI here to help us make informed decisions, not make them for us. Ultimately, we cannot expect this site to save us from ourselves. The tools are right here (along with a little common sense) to make informed decisions. :thumbsup:

And just for the record. You can get banned for not posting your name (after repeated reminders and warnings, because it's against the rules set out in the BOI to try to keep this place honest and forthright. Just like the "no anonymous third party quotes" thing. The site can't say "don't be a disgrace to the herp community or you're banned" because then, again, that puts them deciding what is good and bad.

yeah its been 5 days now since the dragon has come to your home hows it looking? is it going into shed (ie getting duller) or has it colored up any or no change?
