In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Bad Guy I got ripped off! Lonnie Jacobs or fauna user lancehead1980

she looks healthy to me. yes i can see her spine but as far as "severe spinal problems" i just dont see it. as far as i'm concerned she should fill out quite nicely with age. Mark, why are you dodging questions that some people are asking you and only answering the questions that suit you? and I do have to ask you, are these the actual pics you recieved from the seller?

You cannot see the severe kinking in the spine? Does anyone else see it except for me and Magic Merlin? Are we all looking at the same photos?!?

are you serious?

Magic Merlin, I'll deal with you frist. You sell bugs, what do you know about Uromastyx? Not to mention you don't exactly have the best name in the business. Wasn't it just a few years ago a guy started a "BAD GUY" thread about you? Didn't you send him a box of dead roaches and then blame him for it? Did it not take you 2 months to resolve the issue by only giving him back half of his money? Which coincidently was only $19.00!

Kelli, are you serious? You and Steve have been in this business for a long time and your telling me that you've never sold and animal and taken a loss? There is not one person who deals in reptiles that has not taken a loss. Even if I sold the Uros for $300 more than I paid for them I still would have taken a loss. Enclosures, heat lamps, uv lights, electricity, food, and all the hours I spent taking care of them costs money. Not too mention, what business is it of yours how much I sell them for?

Do you guys really think he is going to take her to a vet? According to him he doesn't have time to deal with it. I'm certainly not just going to take his word for it. Are you? If he doesn't scan and post paperwork from his vet saying she is unhealthy and has a severe spinal abnormality are you still going too back up his claim?

The pics I sent him were way better detail than the pics he posted of her on here and when he saw them he was thrilled. You're telling me that its easy for you and merlin to tell but he couldn't?

And I think you shoul;d watch what you write. You basically told everyone who looked at the pics and didn't see what you see that they are morons.

as a matter of fact

mark post a pic of her basking flat out on a rock and not curled and twisted in someone's hand and we'll see if we can see severe spinal kinking

best one i can find

here is the best pic i have of her flat out and basking. obviously she is the one in front (the bigger of the two)

hmmmm

Why would you take a loss? Lets see the market sucks. No one is spending money. It is always slow this time of the year. I saw Magics OBI has no room to talk.

Lonnie, my BOI was resolved with all parties satisfied so it will not be addressed.

I bet their is no less than 50 vendors between all of the Texas and Oklahoma reptile shows that can attest to the quality of my Leopard and Crested colonies.

I think the length of time that Kelli and Steven have been in business and their respective educations are a testament to their ability to recognize a seriously deformed reptile.

Go back and read what I said. I did not say anything about what you sold it for, taking a loss, or anything of the sort, did I? I DON'T CARE what you sell your animals for. I DON'T CARE what you spend on housing, lighting, etc.

I said the animal has spinal kinks. It's obvious from the photos. My husband has been a zoo herpetologist for nearly 25 years and when I showed him the photos his exact words were, "That animal has some sort of spinal deformity.".

We are going by the photos your customer posted of the lizard after he received it, NOT the photos that you posted in the ad or photos you sent the customer. His photos are detailed photos of the spine; your photos are not.

You shipped out a bad animal and refuse to take it back. That's what I care about.

You cannot tell if it has a kinked spine from that photo. The lizard is a small part of the image and the area of the spine is overexposed.

sorry Kelli

I am 100% confident the vet x-ray and report will backup the OP's concern and validate that this condition did not develop overnight and the seller was fully aware of it......why else would he sell the animals for a loss?

You are correct, and I appologize for directing that towards you. It was meant for magic merlin.

magic, who gave you the right to dictate what prices i put om my animals? what business is that of yours? and i kinda figured you didnt want to discuss your "bad guy" thread.

Why would I discuss something that was happily resolved? Quit changing the subject.....you knowingly sold at least 1 deformed animal.

Why are you changing the subject and dodging my question? Who gave you the right say the only reason I took a loss on these animals was because one of them was deformed? Who are you to tell me how much I should charge for MY animals?

Maybe I'll just wait and resolve this issue 2 or 3 months from now like you did.

Its my opinion that if you yourself have been called a "bad guy" on the BOI you shouldn't be allowed to post anything negative about anyone else on the BOI.

The subject of this thread is not about me but it is about you.........I, and others, are simply expressing their observations concerning your slick bait and switch of pictures to sell at least 1 badly deformed lizard.......shame on you and hopefully you will see the errors of your ways and make restitution to the OP. :NoNo:

You've already broken your own rule how many times in this thread, then? YOU don't even listen to you, why should we?

lancehead

I have bought many animals from lancehead and never had any problems. Basically it comes down to is this guy taking the animal to the vet for x-rays. I have noticed he hasn't posted any update on the animal. We need to hear the facts. We are all looking at pictures.

1. The Uro is obviously deformed.
2. To the above poster it doesn't matter how many times ye got good buys from lance it only takes one bad apple to ruin the rest.

Lonnie you are obviously trying to deflect the focus off yourself. I have been keeping uros for a while now and have never seen a "normal" spine like that. something is wrong with her and you need to own up to it. and to the OP, can you post a pic her belly including the bottom side of her tail? as far as dehydration in uros, the underside of the tail will be sunken in as well as the sides of her head above her jaw muscles. i don't even have water bowls in my uro enclosures. they get their water from the greens i provide. usually a dehydrated uro means it's not eating for some reason, or it's losing water rapidly due to loose stool caused from some illness or parasites. in this case though, it simply looks to be a case of some sort of spinal deformity. but again, that's just from the pictures provided. i am intersted to see copies of x-rays and a scanned image of the vets findings. Lonnie if its proven that this is a physical deformity of some sort, are you willing to make this right?

Hey Guys,

I hope this puts the whole issue to rest, the vet confirmed my suspicion that it is MBD. She went on to say the spine is not correctable and she will be this way for life.

Lonnie said if I provided proof from a vet of a medical problem he would refund - you have my paypal info so let's resolve this asap.
