In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Just Those Sloths' Hanging around Justyns'....

Kitchen Ceiling.....and Of course I went to Auction with him the day he bought one......But that couldn't hold up to your experience at the Zoo.....HaHa...Look closer.....If thats Not a Sloth Bite.... I'll admit Randall Ellis is a Good guy..... and Doesn't Send Dead Snakes in the mail......HaHa.... :dgrin:

I'm glad Justyn was able to get photos of that sloth bite. Why can't he get photos of these snake he says he has? (Besides the cellphone pics)
I'm just wondering.

The outstanding balance has been cleared. I understand how a dealer can quickly get buried and things get delayed, but with the amount of time that had passed and the sudden change in communication once the funds had been sent to Justyn, I wouldn't be able to recommend him to others. In short, if you have a problem, explain it to the person on the other end of the transaction. Bad news is better than no news at all. AND, if you say you're going to send something, do so.

On a side note, this thread was very helpful to me in deciding what course of action to take. Unfortunately about 75% of it has nothing to do with the topic at hand. I understand Fauna has a policy of nothing being removed from the BOI, but I can't help but think that policy should be reviewed. Trim the garbage from the thread so people seeking info can find what they need.

Nothing gets deleted from the BOI, if rich, did "TRIM THE FAT" and removed some of the post well in all honestly it would leave holes in the flow of the thread and at that point would not make much since. That is why it is a great idea to stay on topic from the start.

So your saying Justyn did refund money to you Botar?

I think Justyn sent him some animals instead of money....

botar said:
He offered up livestock as opposed to refund and I decided to take it. It was what I wanted in the first place and since he seems to be a bit low on funds at the moment, I thought it was the more prudent thing to do. I just asked that he include a couple of extras to make up for the possibility of any DOA's so we can end it here and cut away clean. I received a tracking number from Fed Ex, so we'll just have to wait and see what is in the box tomorrow when it arrives. I'll post here once the box has been received.

im curious to hear exact details?

The original purchase was for scorpions he was bringing in. He didn't get in everything he expected and I had already paid. In addition to that, there were some DOA's. He offered to send me enough of three different species of scorpion to make up for the refund. I asked that he send along enough to cover any possible DOA's so we could wash our hands of the deal completely and he did so. So my transaction with him is done.

Anyone here of any reports of two or three postal employees being convicted of robbing the mail and cashing the money orders in that Justyn claims he sent out?

Nah...didn't think so.

As far as I know he hasn't paid back anyone else other than myself and Botar (which he sent the animals to...I believe it was arachnids and not reptiles)
The last I heard he still owed several thousand dollars between a few individuals.

Intense Herp website on new server

I thought I'd see if the Intense Herp website was still up, as I was pretty sure today was it's last day. To my surprise, it is up, with this as the opening text:

We are excited to announce we have moved IntenseHerp.com to a new server. We will finally have a full listing of available animals and will be updating our information and gallery sections.
Several new shipments will be available on the site soon, including those from Peru, D.R. Congo, Egypt, as well as other sources. We have been offering many rare or otherwise difficult to acquire species from several countries. Captive-bred caiman lizards from Peru are perhaps one of the most exciting species we brought in this year. Other interesting imports are Peruvian boas (red-tails and rainbow) and Atheris species from D.R. Congo. We were also happy to have revived our wholesale division recently, particularly through invertebrate sales. Be sure to contact us for more details.

Once again Justyn has really shocked me. He's still saying he got the Congo shipment, he doesn't mention the Asian shipment. Surprisingly enough, his photo gallery has no photos of Atheris. He mentions having lots of new animals, but his pricelists are blank. Okay, the pricelist has just been put up, but I'd think showing you have animals to sell would be a main consideration before you opened it.
I did get a couple of emails from him last week in reply to the multiple emails I sent. As ever, my very direct questions received vague answers, no mention of an estimated date, no acknowledgment that there is a problem that needs to be resolved. I really get the impression that he sees nothing wrong in what he's done, that he's just annoyed that we're pestering for some reason that he can't fathom.

I get the same impression that we are just pestering him & that we should have something better to do than try to get our money back.
Justyn told me I SHOULD have my refund by last week. Of course I did not get it. Since last Thursday he has not returned any of my emails.

last sucker on the list.....?

Well I wish I had seen this forum/thread several weeks ago! Justyn ripped me off for $515.00 - I know it's not a lot of money, but it's not a little either. There's also an issue of principle involved here.

I purchased turtles from Justyn back in May. He advertised some Guatemalan sliders as WC adults. I paid for the turtles and was sent some badly dehydrated subadults - the largest was just under 7". Even after I had them in hand with ruler, he still claimed they were 9". They were crammed into a box about half the appropriate size. One arrived with horrible trauma to the plastron, which was actively bleeding upon opening the bag. This was not a recent injury either. And as I said, they were so dehydrated that they bobbed like corks when I got them home and put the in the tank.
I told Justyn I was disappointed and dissatisfied. He assured me that he'd take them back for a full refund if I wanted to return them. We made arrangements to return the turtles, and they were sent back via UPS overnight, arguably in better condition than I received them in just a week before. I got delivery confirmation from UPS, but nothing from Justyn. Only after several emails and phone calls did I finally get an email response from him. His excuse was that he was away from his computer a lot, and that he never even got my emails. My response was that that was no excuse, and that I shouldn't have to chase him down for a refund. The last I heard from him, he told me that he wouldn't tolerate my calling him a scammer (which BTW I never did!). That was 2 weeks ago, and there's been no reply from him despite numerous attempts via email and phone since then.
I have filed a complaint with PayPal for the refund, I've reported him to the IFCC, and as soon as I get the case # I'll file a complaint with kingsnake.com too. The operator at PayPal implied (but couldn't say directly due to privacy issues) that it seemed Justyn may be having similar problems with other people, as the account was frozen and there were no funds available to refund. Seems like I'm the last sucker on the list.....

If anyone has any suggestions as to how I can get Justyn to refund my money, I'm all ears. I'll happily drop the whole thing if he'll just man-up and do the right thing.

Thanks,
Paul V.

Hey guys, I've been away a bit on vacation and sick at the end of my vacation (figures). I'm sure what he is hoping is that you will give up and just right it off, but I deffinitly would not. Contact his new web hosting provider, let them know what's going on, send them your complaint numbers with Paypal and the IC3.

ok he doesn't have money to pay people back but he has money to get a new place to host his site? i think first priority on money should be to the people he owes not to a new place to host his site no matter how little or how much it may cost him.

Honestly Robin, if he needs the site to make sales to pay off his debts, not having a site and losing sales won't help matters from the perspective of those to whom he owes money. Whether he uses proceeds from such potential sales to make those people whole is an entirely different matter and one on which we'll have to wait and see. Sadly, I am not optimistic.

Sorry, but this just doesn't hold water. There are a LOT of hosting services out there charging less money than I am for hosting, so no, Justyn is quite likely not spending more money at all. Probably less. There are even some places where you can get free hosting if you want to put up with displaying their ads on your site.

In my opinion, Justyn just made a wrong turn somewhere, and I just could not in good conscience continue to host his site if there was the probability that it was being used to attract more people who would wind up on this thread posting a negative experience.
