In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Inquiry is usark scamming the reptile industry

I don't recall having posted in any of your previous threads, though I did peruse some of them.

If you look at the forum menu, you will see exactly how many people are at least opening up these threads of yours.

IMO the few people who post in these threads are the few who bother to take the time to decipher your convoluted posts and explain - repeatedly - to you points that you do not seem to be able to understand.

Personally, I'm not going to bother, I have zero confidence that I would be able to explain anything any better than all of those who've gone before me.

I just wanted to refute that that it's only a very small number of people who are reading these threads and forming their own opinions.

I personally have no desire to further feed your egocentrism so I don't plan on wasting any more of my own time respoding again in one of your threads.

I will thank some of those really knowledgable people who HAVE taken their time to put together some very informative posts- I've learned quite a bit about the industry from reading these threads in spite of you.

you must not have seen his part

i just looked through 4 or 5 other thread for something and the names are (almost) identical for whos posting

*insert charlie browns' teachers noise* wahn wahn wahn

The people who you might be seeing their names multiple times might be the people who are very passionate about their animals and this industry. Some people do just troll the forums but some have legit points that you either over look or cant answer. "I will look into it". Well…??

crocodile?

Obviously, you missed the point...while I don't want to speak for Ritchie, the point that I got from this was that someone who thinks it's a good idea to let a child hold a dangerous reptile that is almost as big as her (and even snap a picture of it) is exactly the OPPOSITE of the type of person that we would want representing RESPONSIBLE reptile keepers everywhere. Anyone with half an ounce of common sense would look at this picture, figure that if that person is the type of person that reptile keepers want to represent them, they must ALL be a crazy lot of idiots...and speed the ban-passing process up as quickly as they could. People like him are what INSPIRES bans.

In simpler words and pictures....letting someone like that speak for us would be doing nothing but :shootfoot .

That gator she's holding roams free in the store. And has for years. Ive seen people come in there with 2yo's that come running up to the gator like its a toy. And people dont even blink an eye. Not exactly responsible gator ownership. Yes its pretty tame, but for Gods sake its an alligator....

Seriously?? He lets it roam freely throughout the store???

Wow...so just imagine what kind of press that will get us when some two year old inadvertantly scares it, and it turns around and bites her....gosh, not to mention what the child and parents would go through. :nonod:

Man, that's just plain assinine.

100% serious. Ive been here for 8 years now and Im just waiting for that exact story to come across the news ticker.. I do go in every now and then to see if anything's changed but its always the same. That man has no business representing anyone :ack2:

I so wanna go up there and give Terry a piece of my mind, I wonder what he'll say to someone chewing him out for about that gator in his face and not over a keyboard.

As for Rodney, did u ever look into the Florida laws? Have u educated yourself yet? Or do u still wanna argue with a person who LIVES in Florida and has to deal with these laws everyday. I find it so funny how u wanna act like your whole world is crashing down because of these bans and ooh pity you when us down here have been living with it for years. Quit ur freaking crying, lame ass whining, and get over it. What ur doing here is not productive. Not in the slightest So if u really wanna help the industry quit bitchin, and go save the hobby, not try and kick USARK in the nuts. How can we help each other when we fight with each other?

Anyone who wouldnt even take the precaution of putting some tape on that gators mouth just as a precaution, just incase that one time the gator is pissed it cant hurt no one, has no business owning reptiles let alone representing my interests...

Hey Rodney and Terry, GET BENT!!!!

i think you make a good point about how few people went and singed that. most people are to the point with usark emails that they dont even read them anymore. everyone have got used to usark emails about them going to shows and so come out and support.

honestly i think people are getting burnt out with all the bans and usarks way of talking about them. they stop a few get a few put on hold and they they claim victories and then the bans pop right back up. i remember that one email at he end of last year about all the victories and we stopped the biggest ban we have every seen, and then two month into 2011 they all popped right back up. they cant keep acting like we are winning and then tell us we are losing a few months later, all the while ask for donations. its so long before people start losing faith.

i bet very soon like with in a month you see usarks email labels a little different. remember this

Rodney,

The emails that USARK sends out for coming out to support them at shows, I delete. This is because I either am attending the show or I am not and my mind is made up before that email comes out whether I will be attending.

However, you mention that the headlines of the emails will be different in a month.

The email I got about the Lacey Act adding large constrictors, was not labeled like a "come to the show and support us". I have a screen shot of how it was labeled in my email.

USARK.jpg

Looks pretty urgent to me. As you can see, I signed the petition immediately. :) How do you propose the titles will be in the future?

I do think people are getting burned out on all the bans. It is frustrating for everyone when we think the fight is over and then later it is not. I guarantee you it is even more frustrating to USARK considering they are the ones putting their time into lobbying and trying to convince ignorant people to become more educated. If I were USARK, I know I would be discouraged after these continued proposed bans. It is ridiculous, I agree.

I support USARK because I met Andrew before USARK was created and I truly believe Andrew is doing what he can to educate politicians and other Special Interest groups. I don't believe for one minute that Andrew is trying to do anything to hurt the hobby.

There is nothing any reptile lobbyist can do about the continued proposed bans. Unfortunately, this is part of living in our country. They have a right to propose them. I was looking at the proposed legislation that people in our country would love to have because they petition the government on whitehouse.gov. The most ridiculous ban was placed on there. Someone wanted to ban the game Skyrim because it is going to corrupt our society. I couldn't stop laughing that 500 people actually signed this petition! These are the same people that back banning reptiles.

We have to remember, most of America would rather give their rights away for the illusion of safety. They want to "feel" safe. This feeling doesn't necessarily mean they are safe but as long as they feel safe, they will be happy. Unfortunately, WE have to make the rest of American's who are not for reptile ownership feel safe about us having them. We need positive publicity. We need good educators. We need people willing to donate time and money to our cause. If we lose in making American's feel safe with our reptiles, we lose our reptiles. It will be a sad day if this happens and I will probably cry my eyes out. I love my snakes.

We need to stay together in this fight. If you don't like the way USARK tries to deal with potential bans, that doesn't mean you have to give them money. However, you still can sign petitions when they are worded to your liking and we still have to stay together. Staying together and working together is what is going to allow our hobby to continue.

Sorry for rambling to many different topics. That is how my mind operates and I am overly exhausted while typing this.

Also Rodney, if I could please ask for capital letters when you write. I know it is the Internet and this is not necessarily a professional setting (work related), but as a teacher, I cannot help but put this request out. I am not asking for perfect grammar but I know it will be easier to read after 12-16 hour days if there are capital letters at the beginning of your sentences. (I am being sincere about this also).

Thanks,
Star

crocodile?
I meant alligator.
Yup.. Just as I figured.
NOTHING to say except to point out that I got confused between an alligator and a crocodile.:shrug01:
you must not have seen his part

i just looked through 4 or 5 other thread for something and the names are (almost) identical for whos posting
so what is your point? That you went looking for something you can pin on us and hold over our heads and you came up with NOTHING?

Come on. All that posting against USARK and posting to get support for your IRRESPONSIBLE terry. And you have come up with absolutely NOTHING. I want to thank you. I think you have helped prove to everyone exactly why they should continue to support USARK and why they should all stay away from IRRESPONSIBLE terry

And let me attach it just in case it disappears.

This is a picture from terry's website captivebornreptiles.com
This guy wants to represent the reptile industry.

I agree. Perhaps the picture and the site should be forwarded here:http://jfs.ohio.gov/factsheets/CPS_factSheet.pdf

i was just looking through some other thread trying to find something. i dont pay much attention to names but i just realize as i looked through the other threads. its all the same people for the most part.

i just looked through 4 or 5 other thread for something and the names are almost identical for whos posting. you are posting in every thread. why what do any of you have to gain by doing what your doing

Here is a link of Rodney doing exactly the same thing he is complaining of others doing. Its so funny when people are hypocrites about something. Even more funny when people bring up a topic, others bring up good points to counter it and the original person will either ignore it, change their story or focus on one tiny flaw in the argument. Awesome.

I dont know because I dont understand what ur trying to type. This thread has gone from entertaining to annoying real fast.
.however I have to say, I have seen some pretty stupid and irresponsible people who I believe should NEVER be allowed to keep animals such as crocs. But then, maybe that's just like companies having to put warning labels on everything nowadays...perhaps it would be best to just go back to letting natural selection do its job. :D

:iagree: with both of you

Rodney, I have not posted on any of your threads before and I am not sure why I am now, as you will not comprehend anything I say.

I live in NC. I am for the most part happy with the laws as written. I don't think just anyone should own venomous snakes. No, wait... sure let any idiot who has $80 buy a gabby, so when he/she gets bitten & there is no anti-venom, we will be with one less idiot. But then what about the snake? It was only doing what it knows. What happens when it gets out of the house after it has bitten its owner? Or wait for someone to find it & kill it? It isn't the snakes fault, it is the fault of the "owner".

I believe education is the way to go. I have taught many kids in my community that snakes and other exotics are great pets when handled responsibly. That is the whole point of USARK.

I still don't really understand what your issue is with ARK. Can you maybe state your issue in 2 sentences? Not a long rambling, convoluted paragraph that doesn't explain anything.

heres my post for people to read so you dont have to go to the link. and i think you missed my point in the post. i was trying to explain why fox news and the like do things like public opinion polls and that you shouldnt have too much faith in them. thats all.

by all means cast your vote and express your opinion. but keep in mind what the reality of the poll is.

in the 50's is when these kind of things were started and they are not used for what people think they are. they are used to sell society ideas and merchandise. there basically use to figure out what people think about certain things and then that information is used to sell them something, whether it be a car or a president. if you look at obamas campaign he got people to vote for him by simply saying change and yes we can. and what where all the polls saying. that people wanted change. so when you have a white redneck republican for texas as president, having a black democrat saying he will bring about change, its sure to get people on his side. not only did people identify with what he was saying but he looked the part, since he looks nothing like a white redneck form texas. thats just an example of how these polls work to gather information from the public.

when Frued explain that people arnt nearly as motivated by logic and reason like people had thought for years, governments and especially corporations picked up on it and thats why today we have commercials of paris hilton half naked on top of a car eating a hamburger. people like what they see and think they want to buy the product being sold when really they just want to eat a burger and bang pairs hilton.

now i know there would seen to be little connection between your pet snakes obamas campaign and a paris hilton commercial but these are just different ways in which known knowledge of peoples motivators and information gathering is used to sell something ,including ideas.

so after frued knowledge of motivating factors a guy named edward bernays ( freuds nephew) moved to the US and he was the one that was hired by the government and corporations to start selling people things on a more subconscious level and this is when work groups and public opinion polls where really started. and good example was a work group that was put together to find out why (i believe its was) the new instant cake mixes that were being marketed wernt selling well. being that it was the spetford wives era. the cake mixes were selling but they wernt being used. so there wasnt any repeat sells. what they found out with the work groups that the spetford wives didnt feel like they were contributing enough when they were using them so the companies add to the directions on the cake boxes they you needed to add 1 egg and the rest is history.

now fox new reasons for the poll isnt, most likely, to find out what people think about he issue, but to find out how well their story that they ran prior to the poll was received.

think about it. why would fox new run a story about dangerous exotic animals and then run an opinion poll after the fact. if they were really looking to find out how the public felt dont you think they would have done the poll first and then did a story.

whats the point of fox news even doing a poll. we already know where they stand on the issues. we all saw the cobra story.

they are trying to find out how well there story was received and also they are trying to find out what are any specific concerns of the public so they can repeat them in their next story, that im sure they are planning on running, and this time they will be able to repeat verbatim what the public ,that are of their like mind, said, and thats how the scam works

if theres a place on the poll to write in your personal concerns. read them and read what the people for the ban had to say. remember it and then watch what fox news says in their next story. it will be identical

First off, it's Stepford Wives.
Next, please for the love of Pete, start your sentences with capitol letters! I don't know who taught you to write, but they failed you miserably!

So, what you are basically saying is that we don't need USARK because there really isn't any danger of laws being passed that will destroy the reptile industry?
Or are you saying that Andrew is trying to trick us all into giving him money because he is manipulating all of us?
Or are you saying that these polls make people believe things they they really don't believe at all, and this hobby is in no danger and we all all being very silly?
Or are you saying that ......wait a sec....what ARE you saying??
The world wants to know!!

Uh...all I could glean from my attempt at reading that was that somehow you are attempting to equate Freudian theory with the Stepford wives and Fox news??? :notallthe

..what ARE you saying??
The world wants to know!!

Bethany, I'm certainly interested in what you have to say.

But Rodney is disorganized, seems not have a good grasp of concepts, is not willing to have a dialog because he skips to an entirely new subject when people actually attempt to speak issues he raises, only to return to the same issues once the conversation is completely off track.
At this point, I do not think many people would actually let his opinion guide their actions, and I'm really not interested in his uninformed, argumentative, annoying rants.
