In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

It's been a BAD week here at GGG...

In January, my beautiful male A & M SHTCT prolapsed, and it required surgery to remove his right hemipenis. I was pretty bummed, as I was anxious to use him as a first-time breeder. My vet said he would be good to go in 4-6 weeks, but I waited 9 weeks before putting him back in with the girls. Well, he prolapsed again and it wouldn't resolve itself with soaking and PrepH, so he had to have his other hemipenis removed. Poor guy... he is so handsome and sweet, and now will have to be somebody's pet.

Monday, I put my Tremper reverse stripe male in with the new girls, and he quickly went to work. Yesterday, I saw him laying on his back in the enclosure and I freaked! He was alive, but had been severely bitten. When I picked him up, his spine was crooked and he tried to bite me for the very first time in the 4 years I have had him. I called my herp vet and a local vet that will treat reptiles, and both were off yesterday. I decided to put him in a hatchling tub and leave him alone, but this morning he has no use of his hind legs and his back appears broken. I am afraid I will have to put him down.

On top of all of this, I am in the middle of having my entire house re-carpeted and stone floors put in my kitchen, family room, fireplace, and both bathrooms. I have to completely dismantle my reptile room! The workers are doing the tile stone work are running a day late (reason in the 'Sound Off Forum'), and I was without a toilet all day yesterday. The carpet guys were supposed to come today, but I have a houseful of workers and nowhere to move my furniture since they have my garage set up with all their equipment, so they will have to come back. My entire house is covered with a thick film of dust, and I have heard nothing but Spanish spoken in my house for 2 solid days.

I cannot leave to take my poor, crippled gecko all the way to Berkeley to the vet since I can't leave the house when it's teeming with workers! I am so stressed and worried sick about my guy.

I just needed to vent. Thanks for listening.

I hope your little guy gets better soon Marcia; and that your home is beautiful and quiet in a few days.

Wow, marcia. I can feel your stress and worries all the way out here. I am here if you need to talk and I will listen to the same story 20 times with out razzing you at all. I hope that things settle down soon. Don't let this drive you to drinking. LOL  All right maybe just one.

What a horrible stroke of luck! It sounds like fate just has it in for you at the moment. It doesn't sound good for your crippled gecko, no matter what route you take... but it sounds like his progeny has a chance to live on. The other fella will make a wonderful pet for someone... I suppose he's actually a very good deal for someone who wants to add a male to a tank of females, but doesn't want to actually breed any. Pity that I'm on the other side of the country, I'd go for him in a minute! he sounds like a sweetheart.

All you can do is focus on how wonderful your place will look when it is completed. Remember the movie "Money Pit" with Tom Hanks? I always wince when I hear that it will take "two weeks" to complete any type of remodeling ever since I watched that movie.

Maybe you can keep the leftover stone flooring scraps to use as substrate for some of your tanks.

I wish you a spate of much improved luck from here on in... it sounds like you could really use it!

I'm so sorry you're having such hard luck. I know how incredibly stressful it is when you're waiting to see how one of your babies is gonna come out of an illness or injury. It just kills me. I always want it taken care of right now, or better yet, yesterday. I'm sure someone will feel very lucky to have your little guy as a pet. I hope your luck returns to you soon. I was looking at your website today and you obviously have a gorgeous collection that you have put an amazing amount of work into, so I'm sure things will look up soon.

:( I'm sorry. I hope the best for your injured gecko. Hopefully everything will work out and you can get some nice reverse stripe babies. The house sounds exciting, except the whole process sounds very stressful. Best of luck, Chris.

My thoughts and best wishes are with you Marcia. I hope things turn around for you real quick.

Marcia, I would seriously wait a few days before taking a drastic step as putting him down.... It is not likely that a female or 3 broke his back... Not impossible but still not likely..... It could very well be some bruising on the spin that can cause the crookedness and temporary paralysis..... Hope everything turns around for you..... Try not to get too down about it.....

Thanks for the encouragement, guys. I just talked to my vet and he told me to keep him stable and in an enclosure where he can't move around much and watch him for 24 hours, but he tries to move and falls over and can't right himself. His side is bitten so badly it is herniated, but not inviscerated. I'm going to get my local vet to do an x-ray, and my husband is going to try to get home early. I am so heartsick...

I'm so sorry to hear about your newly injured guy!! Seeing something drastically wrong in the gecko tanks just makes your heart stop. :( I really hope Gregg is right! It sounds as though he really needs to visit the vet, though. Let me know if there is any way I can help. Wish I was closer, but I'm not that far away!

We had some work completed a couple months ago & I understand completely!! It'll be beautiful soon!!

Really sorry to hear, and I wish you the best of luck. I recently had a female that was bitten really bad by another female as well. It was really weird. The entire region around the wound was very swollen.....It turned out to be a pocket of air. It has sense healed really well.

Oh, my. Marcia what a bad begining of the year you've had. I hope everthing turns around for you real soon. Keep us posted on both of your little men. I will keep you and them in my prayers.

Sorry you are having such a bad week, Marcia. I'll be keeping my fingers crossed for your RS Tremper male.

ph Marcia (((((hugs))))) I am so sorry you are running into some bad luck, and I hope things get better fast!

Marcia, I am sooo sorry to hear this, I know what you are going through. It is so hard to watch them suffer, so heart breaking. I truly hope he gets better and you don't have to put him down. Make sure that putting him down is your last choice. I almost put Sammie down, but am glad I waited.

Your in my thoughts Marcia. I hope things calm down soon! You've helped so many of us...you know we'll return the favor if you ever need anything. :)

I am very sorry to hear about your leos Marcia, I wish you and them the best of luck and I hope he gets better. Your house i am sure will look beautiful and be worth the trouble in the end. Best of luck, Take care.

One of those is a tragedy but all of them couldn't be anything less than a nightmare. If one of those things happened I would say it was bad luck but sounds like one of those females is viscous. I have one that is like that and any male I put in with her stays under supervision until he is done. Then he is immediately evacuated. She whooped up a male that out weighed her by 25 grams.

Hey Marcia,

We're so sorry to hear about your horrible time. I wish we were closer to be able to help you out. We'll be thinking of you. Let us know how things go and have faith the little guy will get better.
