In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Bad Guy Jeff Otterberg, aka Pudgsr, www.pudsleopardgeckos.com: GECKO KILLER & BULLY

Angela,
Thank you for your post.

I have spent a portion of my time field herping over the past few years. Most of the reptiles I have found were crammed under rocks or boards or in trash piles. They are fine in tight spaces. A guy who packed this way is Rainer Weishaupl (Bluerosy on many forums). He packed his deli cups with aspen shavings so that the snakes were too crammed to move more than very little. Heck I wondered if they could breathe... but that is how you find reptiles in the wild.

The geckos (one per) in those milk bottles were very small and there was twisted newspaper in each bottle. The bottles were also punched through with holes by me.
If I could buy those milk bottles like deli cups I would purchase them instead. I advise anyone looking at this thread to try it out. Another good thing is that the bottles screw closed and there is NO chance of escape.

Thanks,
Peter

I should have been more specific: I learned to pack tightly like that from Bluerosy. It was an eye-opening experience when I first saw it but I agree with it.

Peter,

How you packed your geckos vs. how Rainer packed his snakes is vastly different. You used a legit service to ship them while he used the USPS. Also, one of my good friends received a few Brooks that were so tightly packed in the deli cup, that some rostral scales were rubbed off from being so tightly crammed in the deli cup.

I just wanted to point out that what you did was vastly different and much better, and not something to be proud about comparing yourself to his ridiculous practices.

Billy,
Thank you for your comment.

I understand how you feel about Bluerosy - but I am talking about the way he packed his snakes; not how he shipped them.

Additionally, He packed his snakes so they could not move which made me think about packing reptiles in general. I did not pack the geckos as tightly as he packed his snakes but his packing certainly made me think.

Another herper who packs "differently" is Randy Wright. I have received quite a few snakes from him packed in large pill bottles. All I am saying is that there is no RULE that says reptiles have to be packed in deli cups to survive an overnight trip. They need to be packed securely & I will use those milk bottles again if I get any.

Again, thank you for your comment.

You did a fine job Peter. You have done an excellent job presenting this to the "public/newbies!" :kaboom:

Start typing a little more coherent and you'll get it? :iagree:

also, it always amazes me how many angry people are on this site.

people just need to relax. this is supposed to be a fun hobby, the minute it becomes business and about money and ego, and such, its ruined.

It's people like you RyRy that scare the "stuff" outta the rest o tha crowd! Learn some punctuation when ya get a chance inbetween dictacting stuff on this site you "enjoy!"

I think the the bad guy thread was needed just so on searches his name comes up. But now that it does come up maybe licking this thread with a link to the other would be best IMO.

McVay, who are you? spell correctly, then talk smack.

Now back on topic, this topic was needed, and serves its purpose

i great final post cause i want to be banned from this shitty site permanently. Peter more geckos of yours died- so guess what out more money and lets see this is so funny when i have 300 or so and i don't have this problem. You raised and packaged them shitty!!!!!!! As for his followers all of you guys are assholes and others that know the true that saw the pictures and the vet report know he is a crappy person. I will only do business with a select people now. I have learned my lesson. ONE SHITTY PETER JOLLES NO BUSINESS WITH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! IM OUT OF THIS SHIT HOLE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Jeff if you posted proof, posted pictures of the dead geckos, a heck of a lot more people would be on your side. I think you need to calm down and understand that we do not just believe anyone, and especially on the BOI you need proof to back up your claims.
