mission accomplished, via post #20. looks like this thread can be done
Angela,
Thank you for your post.
I have spent a portion of my time field herping over the past few years. Most of the reptiles I have found were crammed under rocks or boards or in trash piles. They are fine in tight spaces. A guy who packed this way is Rainer Weishaupl (Bluerosy on many forums). He packed his deli cups with aspen shavings so that the snakes were too crammed to move more than very little. Heck I wondered if they could breathe... but that is how you find reptiles in the wild.
The geckos (one per) in those milk bottles were very small and there was twisted newspaper in each bottle. The bottles were also punched through with holes by me.
If I could buy those milk bottles like deli cups I would purchase them instead. I advise anyone looking at this thread to try it out. Another good thing is that the bottles screw closed and there is NO chance of escape.
Thanks,
Peter
This is one crappy forum.

If you would have posted your proof and the pictures you said you would post I do not believe you would be this far down a hole.Angela,

Peter,
How you packed your geckos vs. how Rainer packed his snakes is vastly different. You used a legit service to ship them while he used the USPS. Also, one of my good friends received a few Brooks that were so tightly packed in the deli cup, that some rostral scales were rubbed off from being so tightly crammed in the deli cup.
I just wanted to point out that what you did was vastly different and much better, and not something to be proud about comparing yourself to his ridiculous practices.
Billy,
Thank you for your comment.
I understand how you feel about Bluerosy - but I am talking about the way he packed his snakes; not how he shipped them.
Additionally, He packed his snakes so they could not move which made me think about packing reptiles in general. I did not pack the geckos as tightly as he packed his snakes but his packing certainly made me think.
Another herper who packs "differently" is Randy Wright. I have received quite a few snakes from him packed in large pill bottles. All I am saying is that there is no RULE that says reptiles have to be packed in deli cups to survive an overnight trip. They need to be packed securely & I will use those milk bottles again if I get any
Again, thank you for your comment.

im really confused and dont kno what to say but imma just try to forget about this and have a blast thinking about more projects for next year!!! i have soooo many things for next yr and i CAN'T wait!!! ahhh me soo excited!! even just thinking about makes me just wanna start now!
