In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Jennifer, just a couple of points for what they're worth.

People in this thread tried to help you and give you solid, experienced advice and you blew them off. Not only blew them off but did so with such an utter lack of professionalism that I'm sure you've earned your way on to a lot of "never buy from them" lists (you surely made mine).

You might not like the advice given but when you chose to respond with anger, with gutter language on a forum where people will come to search your name - you shot yourself in the foot and your choices will lose you business. In this economy and in this relatively small world of snake keeping where the word gets around fast, that was some pretty poor decision making skills.

I'll be shipping out our first snakes this year. Threads like this one are teaching me what NOT to do so I guess I do owe you some thanks. Personally I'd have appreciated someone decent enough to phone me and try to give me some of their wisdom on good shipping methods instead of cursing them out and making myself look like a tempermental fool.

You can lead a snake to water......

Jennifer, you've proven yourself completely incompetent with regards to not only the husbandry of these animals but also common decency. Bobby was attempting to show you the correct and most importantly, the safest way to ship these animals. This method is tried and true yet you want to forgo years of experience on this board for your foolish pride.

A snake bag is nothing more then a pillow case. You mentioned that you were going to run to Walmart to purchase some sterilite tubs. If you're going to Walmart then pick up some cheap pillowcases. It's much safer for the animals and won't set you back anymore then your tubs......probably less.

Regardless, keep up the good PR as the only thing you've managed to do here is to get thrown onto a large list of people who won't buy from you.

Griz

PS Adoption means just that.....adoption. It does not imply a lower price or a discount. Adoption means free. The new owner pays the shipping and in return you don't charge for the animals. You really need to educate yourself a little more.

Jennifer:

Why is it that you claim something as ridiculous as "not having access to buying snake bags?" You obviously have internet access and a computer. Why didn't you go to the Bean Farm and order a couple? Do you not know how to use google?

Also, bragging about "combined years of experience" and name-dropping means nothing. Anyone can contact one of your big breeders and buy an animal from them. Anyone can contact one of them and buy their animals repeatedly. It does not mean that you know what you are doing.

As far as years of experience, that kind of talk makes me laugh more. There is a couple that shows up once in a while on my own forum, and while they have claimed 20+ years of experience breeding Burms, I've found them posting questions asking people what the correct temps are for incubation. I see a lot of similarities between you and them.

As this community knows, I have zero patience for folks who 'rescue' animals for profit. You're exactly what this hobby doesn't need anymore.

?????????

Go pull a quote yourself from Fedex or UPS from Goleta, CA zip 93117 to your zipcode. You’ll see how much it is for it to go overnight to Florida from California. Estimated to be about a pound (max weight) (and 4 packages..as there’s 4 king snakes and we would pack each separately)

after reading most of this LOL im still trying to understand the reason why 4 cal kings have to be shipped in separate boxes??????????????

LMAO thats just stupid .

they all can be put into snake bags and shipped all in the same box for prolly around $65.00-$80.00 maybe a lil more through fed-ex overnite by 10:30 am

As far as I knew, DHL no longer accepts reptile shipments?

And you could Delta Dash them [and drive to the airport and back, get paid an hourly wage for the time, pay for gas, AND make a profit] for that much.

A Question...

jennifer,

are you a 'lil kid? you do know it all, so maybe you are a teen... Enlighten us...

Sincerely,

I do not know where you heard that, but that take mine and I have a waver.

But they take mine, not, but that take mine. :ack2:

Just FWIW, I sent out a 700g '05 Graziani Pastel male a few weeks ago. I get my pillowcases at either garage sales, Good Will/Salvation Army, or WalMart. They all run less than $2, usually 10 cents to 25 cents depending on how many are taped together. WalMart has then for 2 for $2. Wow.. I just can't afford that to keep my snakes safe and secure when shipped.

I got the box via Repster.com/shipping(it was FREE *gasp*), filled in the buyer's info on the site, printed out the shipping label, packed the snake in the box with newspaper on bottom, then snake, then newspaper all around him and on top, added a cold pack, put the top on, securely taped up the whole box with packing tape, put the label in the label holder and affixed it to the top of the box. I then dropped it off at the Fedex hub, which was a whole 2 miles from me(maybe less) and sent the tracking number to the buyer when I got home.

This took me all of an hour, and the total bill for shipping a 4lb box via Fedex Priority Overnight(arrival before 10:30am) was $46.

Even I am well aware that even Kingsnakes cannot eat each other through the bags. Unless they came up with an acid venom that no one knows about yet that melts cotton..

Get a 12 x 7 x 6 box from Repster for FREE, go get 4 small pillowcases, some cold packs and PACK THEM RIGHT.

I've even packed 5 Ball Pythons in one large box and shipped them to Florida, two were over 1000g, and the total weight was 13lbs. It was $96.00 to ship them via UPS Priority(before 10:30am arrival).

If a seller told me it was going to be $350 to ship 4 tiny snakes, I'd have to politely tell them to stick it up their rear.
