One thing that I know will be happening is people will still be using SYR to try and ship out snakes, even after being told not to....that will be a huge downfall in SYR trying to repair this situation
Interesting point, Clay. Do you think that shipping lizards is even a good idea right now? Do you think they would open any package booked as a reptile shipment right now?
I think I better email Robyn . . .
While I agree that some will continue to ship snakes as usual as long as SYR is still accepting packages, and many of those people will never see this thread.
bwt501;953761 At this point in time said:I just noticed there is nothing on SYR’s website about the prohibition of shipping snakes at the moment, there is even a prominent link to a snake shipping kit.
If people still ship snakes using SYR’s site then there is no one to blame but All Pro Shipping. The web site should have been updated before the email went out.
I can tell you if I bought a snake shipping kit from SYR and shipped a snake through their website that got stopped hundreds of miles from me or it’s intended destination and SYR refused to help I would be beyond angry. Not everyone reads these forums and I suspect many of their emails get stopped by spam programs I know mine does.

I think SYR had to put out that email about halting snake shipments just to cover themselves and satisfy UPS. However, i believe its business as usual with snake shipments because they were never really allowed anyway. I think we have to read between the lines on this one.
This seems like its gonna be a mess before its all over with.
Im thinking it was a mess before it started.... the whole dont label your boxes was a clue.

Yup I got it too...I did call ups and ask to speak to a higher up because syr said the higher ups know of the contract...ups told me there was no such contract.
When I talk to syr they told me they had several calls with ups not wanting to ship out reptiles, they even told me to quitly drop the box off at staples and I m question to tell them they are plants.
We are so on the same page.
iMO: Another attempt to get the "big" money.
Facts as I see them, without needing anyone to "explain" it to me:
A waiver that was READ to someone (could be wrong on this, but as far as I know, the general public was not privy to the waiver?) Very hush-hush because it's a "test." Not sure why it would HAVE to be hush-hush if it were an actual test...
In reality told the reptile community to "FOLLOW UPS RULES" (UPS does not allow shipment of snakes)
Between the lines told the community "Ship your snakes though us, we got it covered" offered snake shipping boxes, helped those that lost snakes and did not clear up the issue by posting on their website..."NO SNAKES can be shipped"..so allowed the situation to continue, and they benefited.
I don't know who was first to advise the community to sneak the reptile boxes though by not labeling them (BIG RED FLAG).
In reality, any service that needs their users to sneak, and be less than honest isn't a service I would want to use anyway.
(((ducks and runs)))![]()
You forgot to mention that they use a stylized snake graphic for their SYR logo. Why use an animal that they're not permitted to ship as their logo animal
Their shipping video also shows proper packaging for a snake.
If their waiver didn't include snakes this goes beyond simply shady.
There is STILL nothing on their site that says we can't ship snakes.
You must also follow all UPS rules and restrictions. For more details, see these sections of the UPS site:
