Thanks Sam,
I was not aware of this thread. I appreciate your good words for us. We have
been in the herp business since 1974 and have never burned anyone. We've
made our share of dumb#### moves, but we've never burned anyone and we are a
very honest family business.
Justin Mitcham does work for us out of Texas as our buyer, and freight
forwarder for DFW, and salesperson from time to time on different deals. He
did have some extreme bad luck and hard times, and his phone did get
temporarily disconnected so he could not send or receive emails via AOL,
which only added to the fears of everyone who paid him for the mata matas.
I don't know all the details of the mata mata import, but anyone out there
who paid in advance for the mata matas will not get burned. They will either
get their money back or the turtles when they finally do arrive, whichever
they choose. I told Justin never to over promise and under-deliver, and
never never never ever ever promise anyone a time frame when it comes to
importing or exporting animals. There is just so much paper work and
bureaucracy to deal with and if something can go wrong it usually will. The
rule with import-export is that nothing goes according to plan, and the
exception is that everything goes smooth without a glitch.
As of Apr-8, the turtles still have not come in. We have paid a lot of money
in advance for the matas, we want to get the turtles in more than anyone.
Best Regards,
David Breen, Jr.
