• Responding to email notices you receive.
    **************************************************
In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Sorry, this is of him in the tub.

Did paypal ultimately rule in her favor? Did you show PayPal the screen shots of the emails and ad?

PayPal doesn't protect buyers when it comes to multiple payments (transactions) for one item. I sent her 5 payments total. The only thing I could do is file on the three I didn't send friends and family, and hope she didn't respond. If she didnt in 11 days, they would rule in my favor, if she did, they close the dispute in her favor because I am not protected. They read to me what she said,

1 that I didn't get it through ebay (I NEVER said that.. I filed by phone and never mentioned ebay)
2, she told them that she told me they change color, and because of this she doesn't guarantee color once shipped. Then posted her site and policy about no refunds.

I cant even dispute what she said in pp because there is no buyer protection. If I want to see what she said, I have to have it subpoenaed.

Here is a screen shot.. you can see what I said, but not what she said.. all I can do is have it read to me. She said there is no way for her to even email anything to me.

Thanks for explaining that, I don't use PayPal so I don't know much about it. She probably had this planned knowing how that feature worked. Woe to the person who would have bought him when he was priced at $2000.

5 minutes ago. How long does it take for them to fire down completely?

Generally they are fired down during the day/while sleeping. It could be that he changes from a light tan to a slightly darker tan, and that is all. The point is that traits are determined by their fired up colors, and this one is not white when fired up.

I really hoped she would be here to say something, but honestly, I don't think she will. Not with what she's done so far.

This is what I mean, how can someone own a gecko that she breeds for so many years, and never see him fire up?

She may have been a good person years ago, but this is nuts, and not good breeder behavior.

:iagree:

Yeah exactly. She knew what she was doing the instant she started advertising him as a non-existent morph.

Sounds like she was getting out of the hobby, had nothing to lose(no need for a good reputation), and decided to scam you on the way out. If she is truly out of the hobby she will never come to comment because there is no point. No point to fix her reputation.

Dont really know what she could possibly say in her defense at this point. Hope she really is done with business because her rep is trashed.

I just found out about this thread today and this is my reply to Lisa along with my resolution:

"Paypal does not get involved in disputes over live animal sales which is why you lost your dispute. I also want Elvis back if you are going to get a full refund (you could still keep him and get all your money back). I wish you would have waited for me to get back to you before escalating so quickly and explained your plan to dispute the Paypal payments you made (which immediately froze the funds in my account) so we could have worked something out and I had assurance he would be returned to me. By the time I saw it, the money was deducted from my account and you still had him in hand.

My website terms state clearly that although I do guarantee the health of a shipped gecko, I do not guarantee color. It states: "I do my best to accurately depict a gecko's coloring in the pictures on my website. Since temperature, stress, and other factors can affect color and intensity of color, I cannot guarantee color". Once the gecko leaves here, I have no idea how he/she is set up at a customer's home or if they are stressed.

Not guaranteeing color is standard practice for many crested gecko breeders that ship and also stated in their terms.

I understand Elvis is your first crested gecko and did not meet your expectations and that you are unhappy. I am not a scam artist, horrible person, cheat, liar or con artist or any of the other names you are calling me. I have a positive reputation as a gecko breeder because I am a good person that produces quality, healthy, high-end reptiles. I needed some time to figure out how to make things right with you. I already offered you a pair of geckos worth $610 along with free shipping ($55) to try to make things right several days ago. You didn't want them.

Now you are threatening me. I have been very understanding with you regarding the 5 months it took for you to pay for Elvis due to your multiple personal problems (instead of the 2 months we initially agreed upon). I was always kind and generous with you, even though I was frustrated the sale was taking so long and I wasn't sure if you were a trustworthy person. I never insulted or questioned your integrity like you are doing to me now. I never threatened you (i.e. your e-mail stating: "You picked the wrong person to scam. I might be new to crested geckos enough to fall for your lies, but I am not new to making websites and getting them ranked by meta tags.") I understand that you are unhappy but threatening to ruin my reputation like you are now, along with all your flakiness prior to the purchase, doesn't exactly make me feel good about dealing with you and it makes me not trust you. I have had personal issues going on myself this weekend and apologize for not replying to you same day. I wanted to sit down and figure something out that would make you happy when my head was clear.

I have been breeding cresteds with a stellar reputation for over 14 years. Ship Elvis back to me, and if and when he arrives alive, I will refund you $805 (his full price including shipping). He is not worth $60 as you state someone told you he was on the internet so I am not okay with accepting that and you keeping him. He is a valuable animal to me that I care about and I would like to have him back.

I recommend using www.shipyourreptiles.com to ship him and you can reuse the box and styrofoam I packed him in. You will need to get a 40 hour heat pack for shipping. This website sells them and tells you in detail how to pack and ship him. They have all the instructions there on how to do it safely and properly and you can even insure him in case the delivery goes wrong somehow. Temperatures need to be above 40 degrees on both of our ends throughout the trip and he needs to be overnighted for arrival by 10:30 am at my house through FedEx or UPS. We also need to work out a day that I am home and he cannot be shipped on a Friday (he could get stuck over the weekend). You can not send him through regular mail and the package must be overnighted for a.m. arrival.

Let me know when you want to do this. I can send you money to cover the shipping up front ($55 which will be deducted from the $805 refund)."

Thank you,
Kati

I may be new to crested geckos, but I'm not new to keeping EVERYTHING.. my phone even records everything coming in and everything going out. I'm sure she doesn't care about her rep..and I'm sure that money was long gone by the time he was shipped. If she's that hard up for cash that she would do this, then well, I hope it was worth it.. let's hope she doesn't get into breeding any other type of animals. Who knows, maybe one day, she will need a certain good paying job, and when they do a search for her online (which they all seem to be doing these days), they will get a chance to read what she's done and pass her by. I don't mind waiting on karma.

Absolutely not.

1. Paypal stated, and I am more then happy to get the recording, that they don't cover multiple payments on single items. Period. They knew it was an animal as stated in the dispute. The only reason I lost the dispute is because you contacted them. Had you not in 11 days, it would have gone in my favor. There is a period of time paypal allows for items to be disputed. I did not receive any money as you responded to paypal and for that reason alone, my claim was closed. There is NO protection for multiple transactions on one item period.

As far as your "high quality", you stated he does NOT change. You warned me about people JUST like you. I posted the evidence. If he doesn't change like you said, then no amount of stress would have caused him to suddenly go from MOONGLOW to a fired up buckskin.

Fact, it's false advertising. I gave you a chance to respond. Patient? You were supposed to be gone rwo days bit I had to contact you on the 13th to find out what's going on. I kept in full contact with you. And why wouldn't you be patient with me.. I was the only idiot interested in this so called moonglow gecko that you started off trying to get 2000$ for.. I highly doubt anyone else was waiting for him. You told paypal you told ME that he changes.. Oh really? You don't lie? How about you go through all the emails and tell me where you said that.

I am NOT paying any shipping on an animal that I did not get. You sold me a moonglow that does NOT change color... this gecko changes color.. you even said he is not a fired down buckskin. Or did I reason this wrong.
