    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

I know, Jeremy...Trust me, I know. I however thought to be courteous and answer your question as truthfully as I could.

In all honesty, I don't know if it could be cured at all. :(
 
I'm sure there will be just as many opinions as there are opinion offerers as to what solution they believe would resolve this. Is there any likelihood that there even IS a solution at this point? Can anyone really accept a "I'm sorry" from someone who called them some abusive names when they thought no one was looking? Even if the whole shmear was caused by Kelli's misunderstanding my intentions and actions and this in turn affected everyone else as well, how do you bury the hatchet when it has hurt so many? Although some may SAY they forgive and forget, somehow I doubt it will be sincere. A rift now definitely exists.......
 
Lets just step back and look at this. IMO, there is no fixing this. The reason I say this is it is like being between a rock and a rock. If by chance, and chance alone, Rich and the others except a apology. In so doing let them return. There will still be a bunch of people in the fauna community that would be mad and hurt about letting that happen. Also there would be flames that will rise in future threads, we know this it shows in the history of fauna.

On the other hand, if Rich and the others deny them the right to come back, there will still be hurt feelings and people that will get angry.

So, IMO, there are going to be those that take offense, regardless of the decision at hand.

IMO, it should have never happen, and it has been a real sad couple of days for many that do, as well as did use this great site.

Looks like there was a disconnect. As I alluded to, I have made posts in the Gecko Forum in the hopes of attracting some attention to when someone was going to address all the bleeding, and not just a situation between Rich and Kelli. As Rich said in the above post, the issues of contention have only deepened. I do not think it because of antagonism originating from Fauna. However, in the last couple of hours, I have had what I feel was a constructive and respectful talk on the phone with Kelli which lasted about 30 minutes. We had areas of agreement. She has spoken tonight to others with a bone to pick with her as well. We'll see what comes of it all. Time will eventually cause the emotions of all this to wane a bit. Some well-placed mea-culpas might help, although scar tissue, and maybe some pains on cold days, will remain. We will see what tomorrow brings.

Come on Folks it is not like your drinking buddy or your best GF said any of this stuff. Most these people have never met and are not likely to. Sure you lose some respect for people who bash you on line but come on. There is fault on both sides and both sides know it.

Bobby we have gone round and round before and said some really crappy things to each other. Yet I consider you an on line friend and have respect for you and your opinion we got past our differences and so can most in this mess if they want to.

Some are enjoying all of this they seem to live on strife and are working to keep this going, no surprise in that at all. What is surprising is that some in this mess don't see that and some of these sharks claim to be their friends.

Yeah it looks like they pulled the plug and hopefully those here will do the same by toning down the cheerleading. Randy

I will agree Randy, we did have our time in the sun, it was mighty hot as well. But it did not make either of us look good at all. We ran the gauntlet so to speak. However, a little time passed before we came together in that phone call, where in we found we were not that bad guy we once tired to rip apart.

I will say this, we were up front. There was no question of our feelings.
Unlike the way this played out, we were straight up with each other. This was done in what was thought to be a hidden place. So, IMO, it was not the same as it was with us.

I can not tell what the future holds, but I will just say it is very sad that this ever happen. It is never good when a great site like has so much hurt and anger to deal with.
 
Just for the record, after many hours of searching, I have finally found a book that will hopefully assist me in NEVER typing in another word that not a single soul can ever misinterpret or take the way it was never intended.

You absolutely do not know what you are talking about.

The differences between myself and some others were created, by THEM, in PUBLIC.

I'm really not sure at the moment whether the differences can be repaired, I am waiting to see what is going to be offered in the way of apologies and assurances.

That being said, it just doesn't sit right when someone who should be carrying NOTHING but an olive branch is asking for the power to punish others HERE after tearing into people and hurting them possibly beyond repair THERE, in the very letter she uses to request return.

I personally see it to be a mark of good character that I am willing to listen at ALL, after what was done.

But the repairs of the public harm must be also accomplished IN PUBLIC by the perpetrators of the damage.

I reiterate though that the repair for public wrongs MUST be made in public. I am aware of the many private emails and have received more than my fair share, but the damage caused by recent events was done in public and *if* it is possible to repair that damage, those repairs must be done in public.

So I am saddened you feel you have to lower yourself to go tit for tat. Thought you were above that but guess I was way way wrong.

The beta testing excuse is the lamest I have heard. As SOON as the administrators knew that the public could see into it, some control could have been execised. It was not.
Brian, you are, in the face of a delicate situation that MUST be repaired in public. If you have indeed changed, you need to try to see the situation from many different points of view and not get off on one of your tears and fan flames. This is not the place for it, nor the time.
 
Why is every one saying Kelli needs to do this, and Rich shouldn't do that and so on and so forth. Speaking your opinion on what has happened and your personal feelings is one thing, but to come right out and tell the two of them what is expected of them is another.
They are both grown adults and respected members (yes both still are) of the reptile community and are quite capable of figuring out what each of them needs to do to get past this whole thing.
Everyone keeps saying I am hurt over this, i cant believe what this one or that one did now or a year ago.We are forgetting that the ones that got hurt the most out of this are rich because he felt he was betrayed by a friend in a public forum, and Kelli who by all accounts was only venting built up resentment and hurt feelings in a place where she thought only her friends would be able to partake of the conversation.
What this all boils down to is that neither Rich or Kelli are going anywhere, both are in the reptile community for the long run, both are respected members of the reptile community and probably always will be. If Kelli no longer participates here in fauna then so be it, If rich and her make amends and she does participate then so be it. But no matter what happens, nobody is going to loose all their members because a group of people left, and no one is going to loose all their customers because of something they said in a moment of frustration and emotional distress.
Its time to let rich and Kelli do what is personally right for them and the rest of us will just have to live with it, and hopefully move on with our lives and businesses.
