In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Info Kelly Gottberg/KY Reptiles... I'd like your opinion?

This thread is starting to seem more like the spillover from the facebook drama then it is an "info" thread at this point.

The animal had old scars, and some nose rub.
Should have been disclosed, however it also should have been noticed when purchasing the animal in person.

It was also in a shed cycle, and maybe dehydrated at the time of purchase.
Again, should have been noticed at the time of purchase, and it was.
You said you were okay with that issue.

The holes in the lip also should have been disclosed, or noticed at the time of purchase. However, I can see either party overlooking that issue.
(If that issue was a deal breaker for you, she may not have dealt with it properly.)

Kelly has said that she was not aware of the holes in the lip.
Samantha either exposed a complete lie, or was mistaken about the lip being treated with neosporin, and it was actually the old scars that were being treated.
That could go either way, but did/does look bad for Kelly.

As far as the animal weighing 200g at 13 months old, that is irrelevant.
If you knew the animal was a yearling, and could obviously tell what weight range it was in when you inspected it, that was apparently not an issue or you would have declined the purchase.
The snake does not look malnourished in the second pic, in post #1.

The "Warning: Info" has been posted, and does appear to be justified.
Kelly has not handled this thread in a way that would make anyone give her the benefit of any doubt, other then the fact that she may or may not have offered to refund or exchange ?

Now it appears that Y'all are just going back and forth posting antagonistic and childish attacks here, as well as on FB and then copy and pasting the responses here in order to make the op look the fool.

Both, (or all three,) parties are starting to look like people to avoid, IMO.

I feel bad about this Rob, but, your cander about this snake's condition and view on this is semi-shocking! Take what you want from it. Thanks for your post too, it's less ads for me to consider when I purchase later on.

Don't feel bad Tom.
I just said that you and Brandy were not looking much better then Samantha or Kelly at this point, so I am not really worried about losing your potential future business.

I don't think I was defending her at all, or "being cander about the snakes condition."

I said that the "Warning: Info" thread appeared to be justified, but was now starting to seem more like the spillover from Y'alls FB drama, then a BOI thread.

I kinda' figured that post was going to be enough to earn my spot on your "DNBFOST" list, and that is why I put the :shootfoot at the end.

Haha. I like it!

AND THEN SAMANTHA! Guess what I am doing next, after this post.. I am calling Daniel, right away, and I am traveling to his house, to take a peek at YOUR old female, I will address everything while I am there..

It's an honor system Samantha. You did me wrong, you did him wrong, you did Brandy wrong, you did the snake wrong....... and I am going to go and clean up your mess!

Do you remember this post? Are you ready for what happened when Tom kept his word... I hate when I am second guessed, or even an 'ask an answer' twice as you can see, I am honest and fun, but I also get serious, real quick, lemme know if you haven't noticed. It'd be similar to popping up outta the grass on an African plain, and startling a Lion pride.. I don't play games when lives are at stake, I have some real thin lines in the sand at that moment.. So.....

Are you ready for Tom cleaning up YOUR mess... YOUR MESS!

Even way before the very second I heard about your "set-up"..... I knew Flagyl was going to be the only answer for the "6 month later outcome" that Daniel has at his house. YOU DON'T EVEN WANT MY OPINION ON THAT ANIMAL AT THAT TIME, THAT NIGHT.. You need to look at everything around you involving your snakes Samantha, right now.. Let me know at any time, if you, or anybody needs clarification and more info on this dramafest. It's been real, it's been fun.... IT JUST HASN'T "REAL FUN!"

Tom, you know I respect you and appreciate the help you have given me w/maternal incubation, but I do have a question that I would appreciate if you would answer it. Yes, I have read the entire thread (more than once), no I am not jumping on anybody's bandwagon. I even considered asking this via pm, but I feel that it is relevant enough to belong here.

In post #61, you said in a text to Kelly:
"Hey Kelly...You never inquired about the Granite girl and how she was doing...So...Here we go...I spent some coin to get her infection treated by my vet...wanted his opinion on it mainly...he agreed on a force feeding done completely incorrectly?"

Then in post #110, when Joe asked for vet info, you said:
"There is no way you have read this whole thread, I qualify myself as a Vet Joe after all these years?"
So, who's opinion were you referring to in the text message I quoted above? Was it your vet(someone liscenced to practice veterinary medicine), a knowledgeable friend, or your own opinion?

If this question offends you, I apologize, but like I said, its been bugging me for a while now.

6) If this question offends you, I apologize, but like I said, its been bugging me for a while now.

1) No, you do not.. This post is evidence. 'Nuff said.

2) If somebody can not see your stance on this, they would be blind Shelly.

3) Are you doubting that I spent money to "repair" this animal? How does that even matter anyways, as I NEVER asked for anything.

4) It may have only been a $20 tip/favor, but, you seem to think it's important, so there is your answer, he owed me a favor finally, and I slipped a $20 out. Yay, at least there are some nice guys around still... lol.

5) And finally Shelly, what do you think the answer was on this? There were 4 professional opinions in the end? Did you miss that or did you need to re-read again?

Shelly, you have posted a couple times in this thread.. I think I mentioned 'thank you' for a couple of your posts here and there. But, I think it's time to be honest with you Shelly? Do you know what I am thinking right now? I wonder....

Since I am so tired of all the nightmare drama... Here is a pic of the Granite, right now, in a shed phase, with a meal in her, doing excellent.. This picture will show you what progress looks like..

Oh, and in the end, upon closer inspection.. What I thought was just dryness/keeling on the lower half of her body.. Has now been determined to be 'live rodent' chew marks. It all makes perfect sense now.. If you have even half a brain. If you purchase from Kelly, or think she is your friend, I WILL NOT SELL TO YOU!

Shelly, your comments trying to help your friend out, let's me know you don't really care about the animals.... Please think, take a minute out, and think real hard about your next post.. :NoNo:

(FWIW: THESE PICS ARE TODAY, THE FIRST PICS IN POST #1 ARE FROM 30 SOMETHING DAYS AGO.) How's she looking to you? Still curious...

Check the other thread on Sam Walters...............................

(((UPDATE))) Tom came by the other night to give a wellness check on this girl and one of our boys to see how they were doing and to give his advice, he administered some flagyl (I think thats what it was) just in case there was something internal that we weren't able to see, the female has some scaring under her chin or something like that he should be able to clarify what that was for sure, said there were no mites (that's a good thing to hear for any snake owner!!!) Told me to give them a day and see how things played out... waited 24 hours and he told me to drop a mouse in with each snake and give them some time, within 10 minutes our boy was in mouse heaven, ended up pounding 5 smaller adults before I told him that was enough for now. We threw a mouse in with the female normal in question on this thread and she didn't want anything to do with it.. luckily we had a very small rat still and tried that.. about 25 mins later squeaking insued and the girl was finally eating her first meal in our care!.. Thanks to Mr. Pecanic our snakes seem to be on a very positive road to improvement!!!

(for those of you asking about the vet and such, yes the female mentioned in this thread is still going to the vet, soon as she passes the small rat she ate we are also taking in the fecal sample to help prove what Tom did helped, as well as to check for any remnants or signs of parasites. More updates soon to follow on that venture as well!)

I'd say I'm halfway qualified... Would somebody else?

Tom you are so immature and can't handle criticism worth anything. You black list ANYBODY who disagrees with you. I'm sorry shelly and I hope you didn't get the pm i did a few weeks ago from Tom because i disagreed with him. And you think you are qualified because you got that snake to eat. So did I tom. Ate three times in a row before selling to him. Funny that you keep making this thread abut me..

Tom, I am disappointed in your response. I am not a friend of Kelly's...I have never had any dealings with her. I even think the info thread is reasonable. As for why I asked the question, it wasn't because I doubted that you got the snake the care it needed and it had nothing to do with the amount of money spent. I think it is great that you are knowledgeable enough to treat your own animals. I asked because if you were representing an opinion as coming from a vet when it had not, I would disagree with doing that. And from reading the thread it was not clear if that was the case, so rather than assuming one thing or another I chose to ask. If my asking that question makes me someone that you choose not to do business with that is your choice. I do not expect to be able to change your opinion.

Yeah right Samantha.. You started it, I will finish it, and your capability of doing this to other fine folks.

Good luck on FB and Craigslist, you have no clue what you are doing with Reptile's? At least Kelly is smart, she's "playing Ostrich" right now, you know, head buried in the sand, hiding..

I'm kinda proud of your vigor Samantha, but it's over now, it's time to go bye-bye. YOU AND KELLY ARE HORRIBLE FOR THE INDUSTRY AS A WHOLE! Grow up!

There are just a few things I want to elaborate on, now that I'm on a computer and not typing from my phone. I do not think my question was unreasonable...in the title of the thread you said you would like opinions. I debated about posting mine, because I don't 100% agree with everything you've posted (I also disagree with some things that Kelly has posted), and since I am appreciative of the help you have given in the past I did not want to have bad blood between us. But after some thought, I concluded that it would be wrong for me to keep an opinion that I felt was important to my self because I was afraid that someone might not agree with it. That would be just as bad as what you are accusing me of now (posting what I did because I am friends with Kelly - which I am not, just to remain clear on that subject). If everyone did that, the BOI wouldn't work. And you ASKED for opinions in the thread title...not sure why you seem so quick threaten anyone who offers an opinion that differs from your own to your "list".

As I said before, I think it is great that you are skilled/knowledgeable/experienced enough to treat your own animals. My equine vet has taught me to do quite a bit on my own. But if I was engaged as a business transaction with someone (either buying or selling a horse) I would not represent an opinion that did not come from a vet as coming from a vet. In my OPINION (which you asked for in the thread title) that would be unethical, no matter how knowledgeable the person who gave the opinion was. If the distinction between vets and people who are not vets wasn't important, we wouldn't have the distinction. If the conclusion that the snake was force fed came from a knowledgeable person who is not a vet, why not just state that?

And with regards to #5 in your post, what I would like to know is, did the opinion that the snake was force fed and that the force feeding led to and injury come from a vet or someone else? I don't know the answer to that, because I have not seen anyone post a definitive answer in this thread with regards to the cause of the injury, and I don't know who you consulted with before you sent that text to Kelly.

At this point, I have no issue being on your "list"...just out of curiosity though, what, exactly, about my comments has led you to the conclusion that I do not care about animals? That is a pretty serious accusation...

YAY! Another one of Kelly's friends wanting to cause drama! Good Bye Shelly, Kelly, Sammy, and Kaitlyn. WE ARE DONE WITH THIS :censored:

Just wanted to state again that I am not a friend of Kelly's, for the record. I also find it interesting that calling me a friend of Kelly's is the way you choose to respond to my question.

*Update.

8-9 months later. She's finally starting to shine! She has been a great BP.

1. Her holes in her lip are finally sealed up, the infection and swelling is gone.

2. The chew marks from rodents on her tail section will take a year plus to heal still, but are in progress, and we couldn't ask for more utilizing AquaPhor! Highly recommend that stuff for anybody that is unknowing of it. It's great for everything/body.

This Granite has been very brave, most snakes don't appreciate being man-handled, flipped upside down, pinned down and treated. She's done so well in the past 9 months, give or take. Just thought I'd share ;). Thank you for following.
