Just repack the candoia the way you received it, Ken could e mail a shipping label - you tape it to the top of the box and drop it off at a hub. Quite simple really.

Also, do a bit more research. Conway doesn't even list all the ssp. He's list is incomplete and anything he produces could well be an intergrade/mutt.

Ken, those snakes are on my addiction list & I've never seen you have an issue where you didn't bend over backwards to solve without hesitation. I'll be giving you a call when I'm ready for more.

Oh, also many different sites show you detailed videos or give you detailed instructions of how to ship animals. Granted it can be daunting the first time you do it, it is not rocket science. Shipyourreptiles has a good video giving the basics of shipping That is just the first one I can come up with there are many more though.

Ken has bent over backwards IMO to make this right well after many breeders would have done anything. Make it right, send the snake back and get your money back. Your pipe dreams of free snakes have evaporated.

First of all, Ken is human and will occasionally make a mistake. We all do, including you. Its how you handle the mistake that gets credited to your character. Ken has offered to refund you in full, plus take care of all the shipping costs for his mistake. Thats a "GOOOD GUY" in my book. Now, I have met Ken as I lived in LAs Vegas for a couple of years. He took care of me and my needs when he was visible in the store when I went. He didnt just sit in some office and have kids doing all the work. When the kids in the store were doing the work, he double-checked them all the time.

Without getting into Kens background, which I read from a magazine I get from the San Diego Zoo for being a donor, Ken is a pretty good source for the reptile community. You coming, and posting a bad guy thread without speaking to him first to take care of this matter is somewhat unreasonable to the many of us. This is NOT what the BOI is for.

As for your request that he just send you another snake, that request seems unreasonable for these reasons...

1) You NEVER contacted him in a timely manner regarding this mistake.
2) YOu posted a "bad guy" thread, yet giving him GREAT advertising.
3) Length of time from purchase to now.
4) This practice is somewhat old, and yes, it was a practice in the old days but not on a retail side. Some situations call for this but IMHO yours does not.
5) You did NOT make a wholesale purchase or purchase in any sort of quantity.
6) I am sure the TOS on this particular deal has been way over for some time.
7) Did your purchase even qualify for such a possibility.

Question for you Jennifer: when did YOU determine the snake's gender? HOW did you determine the snake's gender?

And for the umpteenth time: did you even bother to contact Ken before you started this bogus thread?

So now you want not only a full refund (which you are entitled to if you did in fact order a female and received a male), but you want to keep the snake as well? Because it's "good business"?
Yeah, good business for you ... but unethical on your part, IMO. You want a refund, then ship the snake back.

Turn the tables ... are YOU going to let someone not only keep YOUR stock, but give them a full refund if you make an honest mistake? I think not.
For all anyone knows, this is nothing but an attempt to get something for nothing, especially since you've had the snake since the beginning of March.

How about you stop posting responses unless you are actually going to validate your erroneous claims or talk to Ken on his phone like an adult, as he has asked you to do.

You are now okay with the males? You do not want the refund or another animal anymore? Are you serious? Who did you get them probed by? None of what you have said or done makes sense and if Ken accpets your apology that wasn't ( a sincere apology that is retracted by the next few words is an oxymoron), then he is a better person than I.

Why would Ken do this on purpose? How is it NOT possible to make a mistake every once in awhile? What would this accomplish. I have been to his retail store. He wouldnt even let his employees sell me a BCI that had a slight RI after telling them that I could take care of the problem myself. Your theory is wrong and slanderous at best.

Ken doesnt even know who I am and we arent friends. But, I respect the hell out of his business practices that he makes sure his customers are taken care of. Ive seen it firsthand, in fact, when I lived in Vegas I went to his store every Saturday or Sunday.

You are questioning this mans character and you are surely wrong.

Hello everyone,I orderd a solomon island boa about week before I ordered this one Im complaining about.The first one was a male so I wanted a female to go with it.I doubt any of you would be happy about it if it happened to you.I just want what I paid for and no I dont think thats asking too much.Yes I've ordered 1.1 and gotten 2.0 before and never heard of shipping them back,they allways just apollogised and sent out what I ordered,letting me keep the mistake snake for free because it was they're mistake.I think this is just good buisness.In my first post I stated this is just my opinion.

Ken, I usually give buyers the benefit of the doubt unless they prove otherwise. Let me tell you, something stinks here and I don't buy it. I wouldn't send this person anything at this point. She wants a refund and your willing to do it, let her foot the bill to you.

Jennifer, letting a buyer keep a "mistake" is something that I would do in certain situations but not something for a buyer to set out to do. It's obvious that you were after more than just being made whole on a transaction. You were after something free and for that you have no sympathy from this reader. Ken offered to fix this and instead you didn't take him up on his offer and set out to get something more. Your the person deserving of notice here. All sellers please take note.

There is no bases for the accusation, and I personally find your assumptions, remarks reflecting more on your credibility instead of your target.

That little red X has your name attached as well. Some sellers check their buyers here as well. Your name goes with that little "X" too.

As for the sexing, I don't think it even matters at this point. The seller agreed to fix it. Agreed to cover the return. He did everything he was suppose to do to fix a mistake. BUT, it wasn't good enough, you wanted something more.. you wanted something for FREE.

You say you've received a mis-sexed snake before. Did you ask that seller how he got "the wrong answer"? Do you seriously think mistakes don't happen? And by the way, who was this person who sent you a mis-sexed snake and sent a replacement without receiving the mis-sexed snake in return? This could easily be construed as a vengeance thread, with this comment of yours. Why would you wait so long? Yeah, supposedly you just found this website. However, this is not the only website where you could "return the favor." So again I ask, why did you wait so long? Your "just finding this website" excuse does not hold water.

The only things I see that were truly done on purpose were (1) starting a thread in revenge because he wouldn't give you a free snake, neither then nor now and (2) refusing to answer pretty much every question leveled at you. That last one tells all of us that you did not come here to make things right; you came here to thumb your nose at a seller like a child because you didn't get what you thought you deserved.

Ms. Kapiloff, I highly recommend you step back from the computer for a while and mature a bit more before buying or selling anything online...or dealing with people online in general. Threads on the BOI are not deleted. That means anyone who searches for your name on the Internet will find this thread, and it will not bode well for you. Believe it or not, employers do online searches for people they wish to hire, and they do make decisions based on what they find. Quite frankly, if they find this thread (which they will), you will definitely have something bigger to worry about than getting back at a boa seller.

You may or may not be young in age, but you certainly appear young mentally. You are not ruining Ken Foose's reputation; you're ruining your own.

I'm not commenting in any way on the transaction, but would like to say that in most Candoia spp boas, the spurs are usually pretty obvious and a reliable way of sexing the animal.

If a Candoia boa has visible spurs I wouldn't expect an experienced breeder (or other handler) to send it out as a female without definitively probing it as female and explaining to the customer that it was a very unusual specimen.

Can EITHER party provide photos of the snake to show obvious spurs or no spurs? It would help to settle that part of the debate.

Here are a couple of my Candoia bibroni bibroni (Fiji Boa), which are VERY similar to the Solomon boas (Candoia bibroni australis) for comparison.
First female (no spurs) then male (pretty obvious spurs)

At this point, the argument of whether it was done on purpose or not is a moot one. Ken offered to refund the money, AND pay for the shipping of the animal back to him. Even though you've shown zero proof to back up your crazy claim. You are refusing the offer, so what exactly do you expect him to do? Oh yeah, refund your money and let you keep the animal you claim is a male yet you've shown no proof of. Given the evidence, it's on you to prove your case. Ken has gone above and beyond, and that's not good enough? Ken's reputation precedes him, whereas you're a rank newbie - but you expect us to believe you with no pictures, emails, receipts, etc?

I agree with the line of thinking others have. You're just trying to rip off another (by your admittance that others have let you keep the "mistakes" for free..) honest seller.

Since OP claims they don't want to ship, does anyone live close enough to pick this animal up and ship it to Ken? What happens when the "I don't know how to ship" excuse is out of this equation?
