Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Bad Guy KEN FOOSE EXOTIC PETS

Matter of fact if someone's willing to go get this animal, look it over to make sure it's in good health, and ship it back to Ken - I'll pay for your gas and buy ya lunch.

Wow... this is just.... wow... she chimed in and just ignored every quote and question asked. I'm.. I'm done here... gettin banned over this thread and her isn't worth it... I suggest everyone drops this. Use your time for something better.

Hey Ken,I posted this because I feel you were dishonest with me.

Your page states you are an expert on reptiles and how could you not be after dealing with so many.I belive you are.

So how the heck did you not see the "spurs'' when you were probing it?And why did your probing not give the correct answer?

You sell sexed pairs of viper boas they're close, dumerils same deal.no spurs.I think you sold me a male on purpose just to make a sale.

Well it worked.I do like the snakes you sent, beautiful. You just made me a little angry so I thought I'd return the favor.

I dont like being jerked around by anyone.

If this was an honest mistake you have my sincerest apollogy, but I dont think it was.

I'm going to keep these snakes and hope I find a unrelated female someday. Thanks for the nice males.Jennifer Kapiloff

I reformatted this post..........after reading all 9 of Ms. Kapiloff's posts I now have a raging headache.........

Well, Jennifer, you got sent a missexed snake. Welcome to the club - you are in good company so don't take it personally. It happens and sometimes the best guys in the biz do it - case in point with Ken.

Despite your baseless accusations, despite the muleheaded manner in which you have presented yourself on this forum, and despite your complete lack of manners and grace, Ken has offered to pay for shipping and refund the cost of the snake. He's offered to do literally everything but tape the box up for you to make this right.

Yes, despite you acting like a complete and utter jackass, you are being offered a full refund. Let me remind you that most reputable people in this business wouldn't be offering you this 10 weeks after purchase and without some proof of what you are claiming.

The emphasis being on "most people". Ken isn't most people. He's one of the good guys and is bending over backwards to accomodate you - even though you are doing nothing but flinging baseless accusations at him.

If I lived near you, I would gladly box that animal up and send it back to Ken so you could get your refund and the rest of us would rid of you and your disturbing sense of entitlement.

You flippantly mentioned that other people have sent you free snakes when you've told them they were missexed. I'm going to repeat a question that has already been twice asked:

How many snakes have you received that were improperly sexed? Out of how many of those were you able to con free snakes out of the seller? Or was this just a lie?

In light of your insistence on receiving free goods despite the fact that Ken's willing to do just about anything to make this right, I'm now wondering what others are - namely if this is YOUR scam and exactly how many times you've perpetrated it on others.

Boy, it took 2 cups of coffee to get thru that.... Better and more entertaining than the newspaper though
The fact that a busy guy like Ken would even respond at all let alone repeatedly to a post like this shows that he truely does care and is willing months later to make it right (if there even was a wrong to begin with ?). No pics, No proof, no ship back - come on now, at this point who gives a crap about this deal or her or what she has to say ? If Ken and Kameron both sexed the snake i would tend to side with them on the correctness - not some novice who cant even seem to box a snake up for return ! This is the reason why I always stayed in the Wholesale end of things to avoid dealing with folks and situations like this in retail. The patience Ken has shown here to me is enormous, but the good thing is this turned out to be nothing but a Positive post for him in every way. Ive been dealing with Ken for the better part of 2 decades now and can tell you, generally speaking, as far as dealers go he is kind of like a Jewel in a Sea of Shit...JMO. :yesnod: :yesnod: Go get em KEN !

Not sure if this species can be palpated? If so do a search on how to Palpate, you will know in seconds..

You mean like checking the reproductive condition of female snakes by palpating the abdomen?

I thought that was only useful in feeling for ovarian follicles and uterine eggs............How is the useful in sexing a snake?

Generally speaking, when one talks about palpating a reptile, that is exactly what they are talking about. That is why I am confused. I don't think that the absence of follicles that can be felt is a very accurate indication of sex.

Perhaps by palpate, what was meant was the method of sexing some boa species accurately using a rubbing method. I have never heard it referred to as palpating, although I guess technically it could be.

Jenn, I'm sorry you feel I was dishonest with you. It was not my intent. I'm still not sure that I actually made an error since I have no proof to back up your end of your accusation. We'll just have to call if a draw I guess. I'm far from an expert on reptiles dear. Compared to the common lay person I guess I am, but trust me, there's thousands out there that know a lot more then me, and I learn something new every day. Now, I'm not rich, and I don't like missing a sale anymore then the next guy, but why in the world would I rip you off for such a small sum of money? Makes no sense to me at all why you would think this. Jenn, is this one of those captive bred babies that I still have some of? It just hit me that that might be what I sent you. If that's the case, you should have someone carefully probe it and double check the sex. They are very tiny and I really don't think you can visually sex them at all. The snakes are not even 6 inches long. Am I correct on this? My memory is slowly filling in the blanks. These are captive bred, feeding on f/t pinky mice, and are very nice snakes. Anyway, you said you are keeping the snake and don't plan on sending it back to me. Good for you. As far as I'm concerned this is a closed case. You keep the snake, and I hope you enjoy it for a very long time. Your bad guy thread about me really did not make me mad at all, if that was your intent. It takes much more then this to get me angry. Too bad you get angry so easily. You should talk to someone about that. Therapy is usually covered under health plans these days. Anyway, I'm happy you like the snakes, they are indeed very beautiful. Have a great day, and if there's anything I can ever do for you in the future, don't hesitate to give me a call.

Wow what great advertising for Ken! (I didn't need it as we have done business in the past and will in the future with no hesitation) I have simply put the OP on my run like He!! from list! Good job Ken now go make some money buddy. Id bet good money the OP has a sexed pair 1.1 of awesome solomon boas and a whole lot of breeders that will NOT SELL TO HER!

For the record, "palpate" is not limited to feeling for follicles/eggs/etc. Palpate means trying to physically feel for something, whether it be follicles or hemipenes.

I know very well what palpate means. I was asking what Jason meant by it.He still hasn't replied. There are words that have very broad meanings that take on more specific meanings in a different context over time with continued use. "Palpate" as I mentioned earlier generally means to feel for follicles when discussing stuff in this hobby. Given your loose definition, of course candoia paulsoni can be palpated! There is all kinds of stuff you can feel for, now lets get this thing sexed! I would imagine you could palpate the spurs even! Lets start feeling things.

Now maybe Jason could be more specific (which was all I was asking for), now that we know that palpate just means "feel for something". Thanks for the definition...

I'm sorry, but it seemed pretty obvious to me that no one here realized that palpating can be used for more than follicles/eggs, which is why I gave the general definition. I thought he was pretty clear that he meant palpate as a way of sexing. I've heard of it before, though I'm not sure on what species it works.

You said it MISTAKE.Now why would I want to spend my time ,money and effort fixing someone elses mistake.I know jack about shipping animals. It was winter. They had a hard enuf time just making it this far.I dont happen to have a box of hot and cold packs just kicking around.Perhaps you think I should just order some of those too.

Ummm you said it was winter... as in... like at least 2-3 months ago? Did you even try to work something out with Ken? I have done business with him in the past and he is very easy to work with.... and I will be doing business with him again in the future.

Ken, despite the intent of this thread, you've made yourself out to be a good guy. You've done everything right in this situation.

Whoever the OP did business with and got a free snake for nothing, I'd like to do business with him/her. Ha. I've never experienced that. The only thing I've ever heard of, is breeders sending free reptiles to replace a DOA.

Just so everyone is up to speed on her intent, here are some of her posts from the KS Candoia forum......

Reading it seems she also has misplaced anger about other poor deals and feels like taking it out on the one person who was more than willing to correct any possible mistakes.

HI JERRY, Started a thread on fauna classifieds board of Inc.I got burned a few months ago by ken foosj-exotc pets(sent me a male after I allready bought a male from him)supposed to send a female Its getting pretty popular still near the top.Anyway I thought you should read some of it as you are mentioned. Also since we dont know each other you could give me your real opinion.I'm kinda new to mail order snakes.Everyone there seems to think Im in the wrong. Thanks Jenni

Hey Helen,THANK YOU-again.I'm not concerned.I've been trying to assemble some snakes to breed in the future. So I've bought almost every solomon island ground offered for sale on kingsnake in the last four months(maybe all of them)except the rest of Ken's.And I expect problems when getting them, and have not been disapointed.Once I figure how to post pictures, you'll see what I mean.Like supposed cb animals arriving covered in weird looking ticks.Seller photos posed so you cant see the missing tail.I have another suposed hold back "baby" thats three feet long and I'm pretty sure carried around by a dog, also with ticks and mites, broken ribs puncture wounds-really like a dog had it.Two males instead of 1.1-Literally everyone has pulled something except one guy,who was a private seller. So I'm kinda over it.I only posted that stuff about Ken to piss him off, like he pissed me off.Not to resolve anything.I couldnt care less about the money,I just wanted him to know that I know hes a scammer. As for all his snake dealing buddies well lets just say It attracts a certain type.Maybe thats what it takes to keep these pittiful little buisnesses going in todays economy.I dont know. Sorry if this sounds harsh ,but its the truth.REALLY THANKS SO MUCH/

Hey Jerry,Hi I'm not at all trying to drag you into this.I did want you to know that I referenced the Candoia Page in responce to someone telling me all boas have "spurs" and that I must be very inexperienced.I was just having fun with some guy that ripped me off by selling me a male as a female like I was to stupid to notice.I'm sick of getting burned. These were all folks on kingsnake though.I really apriceate(i cant spell in case you hav'nt noticed)you getting back to me and for writing the candoia book in the first place its grate. And yes what a bunch of crazys I've never seen anything quite like that before, still tons of fun making them freak out.Thank you again ever so much.JENNI/

Hello everyone,I orderd a solomon island boa about week before I ordered this one Im complaining about. The first one was a male so I wanted a female to go with it.I doubt any of you would be happy about it if it happened to you.I just want what I paid for and no I dont think thats asking too much.

Nope...not too much to ask at all... you should get what you paid for

BUT!!!!!

Yes I've ordered 1.1 and gotten 2.0 before and never heard of shipping them back, they allways just apollogised and sent out what I ordered, letting me keep the mistake snake for free because it was they're mistake.I think this is just good buisness. In my first post I stated this is just my opinion.

This is getting more than you paid for..... ALOT MORE.

Most shippers will tell you to send the snake back at their expenses... then they will ship out the correct sex. From what I am seeing... you didn't even give Ken a chance to make this right. You just waited several months then decided to make a bad guy thread against him.

Here's a thought for you to ponder.

Not even remembering the shipment (OR asking for proof he sent it) but telling you to send it back for a full refund = GOOD GUY

Pretty obvious that nobody knew what palpating is? Two people commented on palpating. One was me. See?!

Perhaps by palpate, what was meant was the method of sexing some boa species accurately using a rubbing method. I have never heard it referred to as palpating, although I guess technically it could be.

And that was in response to this.

You mean like checking the reproductive condition of female snakes by palpating the abdomen?

I thought that was only useful in feeling for ovarian follicles and uterine eggs............How is the useful in sexing a snake?

It was not clear, and still is not. I too have heard of palpating to determine gender. I use it for Colombian boas, Kenyan sand boas, and rosy boas. I have just never called that palpating, simply because if I asked "Did you palpate it to know for sure its a female?" people would assume that I was asking them to check for something different, as the method of sexing boas by feel is fairly new. It was only a few (maybe 3?)years ago that people were still popping and probing those poor bci.

Again, I am asking JASON..what did you mean by palpate?
