In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Did you try to get a refund or snake exchanged? if it is the wrong sex get your money back .

Hi. I don't really recall the transaction, but I think I would have, since I don't respond well to be calling dude. I don't remember talking to them at all. Might have, might not have. I have Mad Cow disease, so it's hard for me to remember things sometimes. :ack2: Anyway, I would not have probed a Solomon ground boa, as it's easy to visually sex them. However, if by chance my ailment hit as I was sexing it, and it's the wrong snake, I would be more then happy to have it sent back at my expense for a full refund to the card they purchased it with. That's the best I can do. I can say, since I don't recall any of this, that it's been some time since I sent out the boa. Makes me kinda wonder if it's the same one, but I'll give them the benefit of a doubt.

They happen to be called SPURS, not claws. You were kind enough to inform of this earlier. Why can't you answer the question, and here it is again.

Did you start this thread before you told him there was a problem?

Davey contacted me about this thread. The OP did not. And, although once again I don't clearly recall, it sounds like I told them to send it back for a full refund some time ago. Not sure that makes me a bad guy.

I fail to see the problem. Ken said to send it back and he would reimburse their credit card (am I correct?) so where is the problem?

Totally unnecessary post. IMO, the OP needs to ship the snake back and then if Ken does not make good, they can come back and take up their "sword" again...perhaps this time they will actually CUT something other than themselves.

PS. OP get the details of shipping, who pays, etc ironed out BEFORE you ship the animal back.

Hey everyone,No e-mails -we called Ken he said he probed it personally and that it was female-we said come-on dude its got obvious claws-he said just ship it back and we'ii fix up your card.

So is this a good guy thread?

Got pics of the animal? Ken doesn't remember this deal or talking to you, but is willing to refund. Pics might jog his memory.

Got pics of the spurs? Even though Ken trusts your word, it would be nice to see them

Date of purchase?

Have you shipped the snake back and Ken hasn't "fixed up your card"?

I think we all fail to see the problem. The OP is not answering my question as to whether or not she started this without contacting the seller first. I am not sure what is safe to say about the OP, but I believe not the maturest of people is probably safe to say.

I suggest to take your own advise and read it yourself. Then you will see they are called spurs. I posted it in an earlier post I made, but to save you the trouble, I will post it again, just for you. It is in blue.

Sexing

One of the easiest aspects of Candoia husbandry is the ease of sexing your specimens. There is never a need to probe or pop any Candoia species. To sex any specimen, just look for spurs or absence of spurs on either side of the vent. Male Candoia of all species have very large hooks for spurs. Females have no spurs at all. It is very easy to see provided you are looking in the correct place. All male Candoia are smaller than females. It is especially noticeable in Paulsoni, where most males are dwarfed by females that may be 10 times larger and heavier.

You said it MISTAKE.Now why would I want to spend my time ,money and effort fixing someone elses mistake.I know jack about shipping animals. It was winter. They had a hard enuf time just making it this far.I dont happen to have a box of hot and cold packs just kicking around.Perhaps you think I should just order some of those too.

Umm yeah. He's offered to have it shipped back at his expense. It was a MISTAKE-perhaps you're prefect but the rest of us humans understand that things happen. What do you think he should do? Why is he a BAD guy?

Two questions Jennifer. First, where's the box I sent it to you in? Use it to ship the snake back. No need for heat packs or cold packs right now. Call fed ex and have them pick it up. Call me and I can give you my account # if you don't have it anymore. Second, what else would you like me to do besides offer you all your money back? Just wondering.

Well, if you had contacted the seller first, before you started this, maybe he would have sent you all of the necessary supplies to ship it back. To be honest with you, you waited how long before you started this and then contacted him? Most seller's terms of service have a time limit for returning something. If I was the seller, I don't know if I would do anything for you after you waited months, it's summer now in case you haven't noticed. You should have noticed this right away and contacted him then. Why now?

Their's really no reason to get defensive and confrontational with people. Several posters have repeatedly asked if you bothered to contact Ken first about this before resolving. Based on what you said I'd say you did, but didn't bother to follow up on what he asked you to do. I'm sure Ken or anyone for that matter with experience in shipping reptiles would be more than happy to help you in shipping back the boa.

Honestly don't think he deserved this bad guy thread. He made a mistake, and we all have made them before. He said he'd refund your money when you shipped the snake back. I don't see what is so wrong about that? What do you want him to do?

Okay, regardless of if it was winter time and it was too cold to return the animal, in your opinion. And regardless of your lacking general knowledge of shipping animals, why is it that in May you are bringing this up now?

You have no proof of when you recieved this animal? No invoice? No shipping confirmation sent to your e-mail? Do you have pics of the animal and proof of the spurs (this is the technical term for them, by the way as these do not serve the same purpose as claws and, therefore, cannot be accurately described in that manner)? Like you have already been asked numerous times, did you even speak to Ken about it prior to the BOI going up?

Are you aware the BOI is here forever, good or bad and that you have created a red flag on someone undeserving of it at this moment? He's offering a refund for an animal he is not even sure he shipped. If these animals are easy to sex as you stated then you have had months to do something about it. Instead you throw up a Bad Guy post with one sentence about this supposed bad deal and then cannot even seem to validate your own claim besides being defensive over nothing.

When you post on the BOI, you get questioned, that is how it works. Inquiry, by the way, should be an indicator of that.

So ... to recap proof? Got any of that of any kind? Evidence you contacted the seller before this? Anything to validate yourself?

I have to agree with Diem above me. I would like to see some evidence that this boa was even purchased from Ken Foose. I would also like to know if the OP's unwillingness to ship the snake back is because the OP wants to keep the snake and get refunded or of the OP is just lazy.

I think his willingness to give the person the benefit of the doubt, despite that he doesn't recall this particular sale, shows just how much of a Good Guy Ken Foose is.

I don't give a rat's a$$ what Jerry Conway says, ALL boa's have spurs.
Female candoia have spurs, albeit, tiny.
Has anyone done a search on Conway? If I remember correctly, he has a few "Bad Guy" threads himself. But that's not the point I want to make. The point is: Ken offered Jennifer the option of sending the snake back, so this whole thread should be a moot thread.

I know Ken, very, very well, and he sends what the buyer asks for, and if they are not happy, then he trys to make them happy.

Hello everyone,I orderd a solomon island boa about week before I ordered this one Im complaining about. The first one was a male so I wanted a female to go with it.I doubt any of you would be happy about it if it happened to you.I just want what I paid for and no I dont think thats asking too much.Yes I've ordered 1.1 and gotten 2.0 before and never heard of shipping them back, they allways just apollogised and sent out what I ordered, letting me keep the mistake snake for free because it was they're mistake.I think this is just good buisness. In my first post I stated this is just my opinion.

I have been in this business for years and have never heard of anyone just giving another boa for free. Maybe a free boa is all you are after. Maybe this is your way of trying to ripp off a seller, after all, we hear of seller's ripping off customers, is it possible that a customer could be trying to rip off a seller?
