In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Ken of Exotic Pets in Las Vegas*BAD*

Here is the deal.
I thought he ships somewhat like I do.
I thought he dropped them off at 6:30-6:55 pm

I did not know he put them in a box with NO COOLING PAKCS
and NO AIRHOLES at 8 - 9 am.

They sat around in that truck baking for about 8 hours.
Then they went and baked at kens for another 3-4 ours

7-9 hours baking at Bobbys
3-4 hours baking at Kens.

Who is more to blame?
At whose place was the snakes baking the longest?
I keep scanning pages because I dont want to read them all again, but could someone please point me to where anyone said people need to keep their business open 24/7? I was going to say something about it but cant figure out who to direct it towards. I mean c'mon, no pet shop is open 24/7 that is just absurd.
Anyone who can point me to that page thank you very much.
Sure I can help you out.... it is in the quote below

basically it is neglect in your eyes if they are not there to recieve it. So gotta stay open 24/7 just in case.

The BOI members has gone far.
Now they tell people what time to open their stores too.

Ok Ritchie, I have no idea what your issue is being that I do not know you, I believe everyone knew what I meant, if that is not so then I apologize. As for your acting like a child and attacking me though, I could care less. I own several business's Master Communications ( licensed and bonded Cable Contracting Company in Toledo Ohio ).......Master Computer repair...... And am partnered in 2 small business's And yes I even plan to open a Exotic pet store in the near future. You have wantonly misconstrued and twisted my words to attack me for a reason I am not yet aware of. And then you say you wouldnt do business with me because you attacked me for no reason? Wow, that is very enlightening Ritchie, I think I will survive the disapointment of not dealing with someone who gets kicks out of starting trouble with the newbies.

P.S. To anyone else that misunderstood that statement, If I did word it to the extent that Ritchie makes it sound than I do truly apologize as that was not the intended meaning. What I meant ( And I thought I made this clear but maybe I didnt ) was that if you have an animal coming to your home or business and know it can be between 8 or 830 to 1030 am than you should be there between those times. That is just good business and proper care for the animal. Thank you

I am interested to see what you will twist next to give you your next 10 minutes of thrills Ritchie.

I agree

As I said in my earlier post Ritchie, I do with all the most recent facts at hand agree that Bobby is the one at blame here. I hope he realizes the mistakes he made and changes his shipping tactics drasticaly.

And Ritchie, I have to apologize for the last part of my last post, it was uncalled for, I got a little mad and acted in a way that to be honest I am a bit ashamed of. My sincerest apologies. Thank you

No need for twisting. I di not twist anything. Read the above quote again. The above quote basically says you think it is neglect if they do not sit around and wait 24/7.

But you say that is not what you meant.....
Fine....people write the wrong things sometimes.
But do not say I twisted your words. I did nothing of the sort.
Plain and simple without twisting. open 24/7 or it is considered neglect. No twisting...no nothing. Tell me what the above quote says to you.

That is resonable to me....

But it al depends on the shipping method.
Airborne gets to me between 12-1pm
Other shippers might be different.
I am interested to see what you will twist next to give you your next 10 minutes of thrills Ritchie.
As aforementioned. No twisting needed. Just look at that first quote and tell me what it says.

I just took it the wrong way.
I consider being a business someday.
I also think I have the freedom to open and close when I want.
You just wrote the wrong thing and I felt that you were telliing me when I should and should not open my store. Sorry about that. I am a little sensitive when it comes to my freedoms.
Maybe a little too sensitive. Anyway it is all good. Maybe I just missed it. But you explained it to me... Anyway good night. Gotta get some sleep

WOW!!!!!!!!!!! I didn't catch that they were on a truck in Ohio for that long. Yeah they were probably dead before they ever left Ohio! I assume by Bobby not responding to any of this that he feels he is the guilty party too so maybe things should be left the way they are as far as Ken doing nothing. Bobby, Ken, did you guys come up with a resolution?

Also I would like to know that since Bobby posted this as a bad guy thread about Ken and nobody agrees with it does he (Bobby) feel he was just in posting or was he just headhunting, hot-headed, and hoping everyone would jump on the 'lets get Ken' bandwagon? Bobby can you respond to any of this?

I something people who are new to this hobby or new to this board do not understand is when they see a Good guy or Bad guy post they have no clue about the person or persons or the diffrent styles of bussiness/ sales in the herp community.

As I have seen it many times on here people make a post and then a lot of others jump on the band wagon. This can be productive in helping all parties in the inital problem yet confuse the hell out of a child or parent looking to get in to this hobby.

Take the this thread someone might see Ken is a bad guy and read the first thread only and say i will never buy from him.We as people who have experiance will read on and try to determine the facts. However with all the other persons posting about it would the novice / begginer? I know we would like to think so but probably not. remember Kids are the future of this hobby and 17 pages so far!! well as a parent I know my kids would not read through it all to see the outcome.

Bottom line Ken runs his bussiness as anyone who owns one would, HIS WAY.He was even willing to work with Bobby to try and work things out.GOOD GUY PERIOD.

I'm not saying whether the statement is accurate or not but in an earlier post in this thread Pruett did state that

"One more thing. I booked the pickup online but they didnt pick the animals up until 530pm so know do the math"

If correct, then at least the animals weren't on a truck all day in Ohio.

It still does not excuse the horrendous packaging and total disregard for the animals though.

I'm not saying whether the statement is accurate or not but in an earlier post in this thread Pruett did state that

"One more thing. I booked the pickup online but they didnt pick the animals up until 530pm so know do the math"

He also posted the fed ex tracking information at the bottom of his initial post and NOTHING happened at or around 5:30 PM on JUly 8th, so he was lying when he said they were picked up at that time.

They are listed as arriving at the Fed Ex Ramp at 8:48 AM by his own initial information... He clearly just thought that he wouldn't be questioned about this and was backpeddling and lying as the thread progressed.

As some have already stated most people that sell reptiles on the Web guarantee "live arrival" only IF the package is signed for at the first delivery attempt. Their TOS usually states that the guarantee is void if no one is there to receive the package. The difference in this case though is that the snakes in question were not packaged properly thus it is impossible to determine if they were alive at first attempted delivery.

Bobby's Pruett's TOS do not apply here for 3 reasons...

1) HE initiated the trade which means his TOS do not apply..
2) He LIED about when the snakes were shipped out in order to hide the fact that they rode around in a truck all day in 80F before even leaving OHIO.
3) Those animals were packaged so inhumanely that they had NO chance of survival.

Webslave, would it be possible to change the thread title to reflect the relevent issues at hand or perhaps start a new thread linked to this one that would better inform someone considerng doing a deal with Bobby Pruett of Arboreals Etc. :smash:

I might be mistaken. I thought Bobby said he shipped them at 8-9 am. Actually it was someone else who said that. My apologies on that.

And looking at the data in the quotes above.....
It looks like the 8:48 am arrival at cleveland might just be some kind of computer glitch

In fact it shows a couple inconsistencies.
So in defense of Bobby....I think it was a computer glitch of some kind.

I know computer glitches happen.
I once had an airborne shipment I was waiting for.
I went to track it down and it says it has already been delivered to me.
Thrity minutes later the driver came knockin on my door with my delivery. Go figure.

would it be possible to change the thread title to reflect the relevent issues at hand

I do understand why many have asked this same question. I feel that threads like this one are the reason some people start up a new thread rather than read an existing one.

170 posts, and the thread (in my eyes) still says the same thing.
The animals were not shipped properly. Plain and simple.

I do however, understand why thread titles do not get changed unless they are vulgar or an outright lie. It is nice to let titles stay so we can all understand each others thoughts.

P.S. I would also like to comment on the friendship issues related to this thread. I am in no way friends with either party here, in fact, I recently have had a disagreement with Ken and I did not agree with his thoughts. I was able to put all of my personal thoughts of Ken aside, read this thread and post what I thought about this entire situation. I must admit, after reading posts from all sides, I would not hesitate in any dealings with Ken Foose in the future.
I wouldn't worry about the title of this thread, its clear to see who was at fault

I see your point about topic title changes, maybe it is best if things are left as is. When you use the name search function all relevent issues and dealers pop up.

:look:

Hey guys? Isn't it about time that we all moved on? I think we all have our opinions formed by now...this thread is now nearly 20 pages worth and a lot of it is repeated statements.

It's obvious that we all love these animals or we wouldn't be posting and reading this stuff in the first place. It is a very sad thing that the two snakes died before they lived out a normal life expectancy for the species in the first place. We all have drawn our own conclusions based on the pages and pages of postings of both fact and opinion as to what happened, so maybe we should just end it here and start a new thread.

What do 'ya say?

With all the questions about how long the shipment was on a truck in Ohio, and the only conclusion being made as to the reason for that being that there was a possible computer glitch, and that the tracking info is inacurate, how can one base anything at all on that tracking information? If there is even one thing wrong on that record then I don't see how the 8:48 delivery time can be used to make Ken look like the bad guy. I mean, if Bobby says it wasnt Picked up until 5:30 pm, and the record shows that it was on the ramp at 8:48 , about nine hours earlier, who is to say more mistakes were not made in the tracking info? I dont think that with an inconsistency like that that the info ever should have been brought in. I know that I am not sure that they even attempted delivery at 8:48. I mean , sure it says they did, but it also says that it was picked up at 8:48 the day prior.

I say we drop the shipping record totally, and look at what is at hand, 2 snakes that arrived dead.

Of course no business is required to be open 24/7-

But, we're talking about living creatures here. Let's not forget that.

If a live delivery was scheduled to me at 2am, I would be available. Period.

Assuming I knew it was coming.

Sorry, but no. The only time I edit a thread topic line is for one of two reasons:

(1) The topic line contains obviously inappropriate language or otherwise offensive slang, and

(2) The topic's name has been spelled incorrectly, making searchs for this person or business fruitless.

And these only apply if I happen to see them, which certainly is not going to be the case all of the time.

In some instances of #1 above, I will contact the author and give them a choice: Allow me to change the topic line or have the entire thread deleted.

Even editing the text of messages is not something I want to do at all. It puts my fingers into what someone else has said, and there is always then a problem with credibility if what they said is not completely unaltered and in its original form.

Richard, I have to agree with you there sir. Many a time I have turned off my alarm, crawled out of bed in the middle of the night, thrown on some cloths that happily only the Delta shipping folks would see me wearing, drove the 45 minutes to the airport, to pick up animals that had just arrived. I have always gone above and beyond the call, and I always will. Let's face it, not only do I not want to see anything die, I also don't want valuable livestock to be lost to me. The primary concern is for the health and well being of the animal I am resposible for, but in my position the financial loss can't be overlooked either. It makes no sense to make it sound like I just did not care for the animals, or that I was lax in my attitude towards them. If I had known that the box was coming in that early, I would have been there, plain and simple. And, in my opinion, if I had gotten there early, I would have had the chance to find the snakes dead about 4 hours sooner then I did. It has been almost 48 hours now since I asked Bobby to suggest a way to settle this to both our satisfaction. I have still had no reply. We have both lost in this transaction, he his animals, me the offspring the animals would have produced, and I have in some cases lost a bit of my good name as long as there is a post on here that states that I'm bad, and that I ripped someone off. I will live with it. I thinks it time to collect my marbles and go home now.
