In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Bad Guy Kimberly Lucas Gorgeousgecko.com con artist!!

She's really trying to throw more geckos at you, isn't she? Right now I highly doubt she even has the money to refund you and she is trying to get around a cash refund for that reason alone.

Her saying "Take it or leave it, it is a more than fair offer and the last one I will make" is just another slap in the face...which in all reality is a slap in her own face. She is really digging herself a deep hole...

Personally, id take it. What's the worst that could happen? (Besides a DOA)

You get a gecko you again feel is misrepresented, and were back to square one. Or you like it and are semi-happy with the end result.

I don't think it's really what she should be doing, but I agree that she likely no longer has the money to give you and her stubborn attitude is just not going to completel yield.

I am with Tyler. I would just take it, call it a day and let this thread serve as information to any one that may be inclined to deal with her in the future.

Let me see...400+ down the drain for a misrepresented animal and getting a "chewed up" animal (piece of tail missing) in return...I don't know...neither options seem worth $400 to me.

But if you can use the animal for breeding and get some "whole" animals from this, what is it worth to you?

So kim has made me what she thinks is a good offer to resolve this. After i purchased the "moonglow", but before he was shipped, i inquired about a superdalmation on her website. gecko #1375. That gecko was not priced on the website, and she told me in an email its price was $400. Now she is offering to send me this gecko as a peace offering.

I have a few problems with this. For one i really think she needs to cough up the cash i spent on a very plain olive gecko. The superdalmation she herself said she produced. Well as we all know getting two geckos to mate costs basically nothing, so though she would be sending me a nice gecko, she really doesn't lose much, and therefore it feels like a cop out to me.

Also, i'm very wary of receiving any more geckos from her, for obvious reasons.

Also before she sent me this offer, i sent her the following message here on Fauna.

So as i posted in the thread, i would now like to send directly to you. I should never have used the phrase con artist in my title line. That was wrong of me, and I am sorry. I have tried to edit it and cannot figure out how, and have messaged a mod. to figure out how i can change that title. Now if you will be willing to work with me on a refund, i will have no problem making a post retracting my "con artist" claims, and explaining that you did eventually work things out with me, and that i am happy. I would have no problem saying that although my experience with you was bad, you have had a good reputation for years, and that our experience was most like an exception to the rule.

As you can see she is completely unwilling to work with me on a refund at all, even after i offered her a sincere apology, and even offered to do what i could to help repair the reputation she has trashed for herself during this forum.

I would not be happy with her "peace offering", but i can see she cares little about making the situation right, or trying to save her reputation, and this is all im going to get out of her.

the "peace offering" email she sent me is below

Brian,
I have attached recently taken photos of gecko 1375, the Super Dalmatian that I have produced.
It is 8-10 grams unsexed and is missing the tip of it's tail.
I am offering you this gecko as a peace offering.
It is well beyond in value what you have asked for. I am only doing this because I truly do value my customers and realize you are very upset about your transaction with me. However, I do not take kindly to false accusations or threats. In the future, think before you accuse people falsely. I know it is common in today's society to assume you are getting screwed but that is not always the case.

Take it or leave it, it is a more than fair offer and the last one I will make.

So what so all you think? Is this at all a fair offer? Is this decent compensation? I feel i have no choice but to accept, as she has made it perfectly clear she is completely unwilling to work with me on a refund of any sort, regardless of if its the right thing to do, or how it is damaging her business.

HECK NO!!!!!!!!!!!!!! She, with her indignant attitude, wants to compensate with a gecko that will take at least a year to mature and to boot will not be worth 400.00 even as an adult. You were right to post her blame filled back handed peace offering her.

Sorry for the dbl. Post.

Because she isn't going to offer a cash refund, why get nothing as an end result? I realize you want the cash, but she has clearly made a stand. And I see no reason to get nothing.

I am by no means stating that him taking the deal would equate what he has already spent and dealt with, but let's look at the reality of the situation. Kim has proven herself to be a stubborn woman who thinks her TOS should be used as an achor, rather than a guideline.

She is not going to give him his money. She is making that perfectly clear. If he fails to take this deal, he will likely never hear from her again and she will do the infamous "If I ignore it, it never happened" tactic that many Bad Guys have used regarding the Fauna BOI.

I think he should get his money back, no doubt, but that just does not seem likely.

So, at this point, he has to decide how much more it's worth to him headache wise with a strong possibility that it ends here.

Personally I would tell her to take her 2nd rate quality gecko and shove it right up her ***! The fact that she is even offering a 2nd rate gecko as a resolution is total BS. If another gecko is offered it should be one of your choice from her website and should be top quality if anything. She will definately never get my business after this situation and her so called resolution. JMHO

Now, the bolded is a GOOD resolution!:iagree:

Part of me would say go ahead and take it. I mean, what have you got to lose? She obviously isn't giving up a cash refund.

But the other part of me is noticing a little alarm going off. Right off the bat, she's saying that it's missing part of it's tail. As a replacement gecko, it should be nothing less than PERFECT in my opinion!

Pictures side by side

Just for comparison purposes. From left to right, 1 and 2 picures taken by the buyer, picture 3 taken by the seller before shipping the gecko.

The picture that is posted by Boidsmith below this one is certainly lighter.

Waiiiiit..which one is hers? In the picture with two geckos, one looks olive, but the one on the right looks like the one pictured that she sold?

The gecko with the tail is the gecko in question. Based on the tail pattern, i'm going to go ahead and say that I believe that it is the same gecko. However, I have a hard time believing the pictures provided by the seller weren't altered somehow.

Thanks guys!

Well, I know that it threw ME for a loop (it doesn't happen often, but it's possible )

It does appear that the Olive with the marking on the tail in the second picture is the same animal advertised, however, in the BoidSmith posting, the animal looked lighter...so I am wondering now..if it's a trick of light?:ack2:

If I am totally off base, you all have permission to ignore me.

I purchased a super dalmatian very similiar to the one she is offering you two years ago for $650. I feel she was worth it at the time. Pricing/value has gone down on these just like the BP's. So before anyone jumps me for buying a gecko for $650, keep that in mind.
Her geckos of that caliber are priced at $400.00. IT is not a second rate gecko. Just because it has a tail nip, it is not going to lose it's value as a breeder which obviously the OP wants to do. Otherwise he would not be looking in that price range anyway.

I am not going to say what way you should go or what you should do, that is up to you. I will tell you, she has quality, high end geckos. I personally would not be afraid to have one of the geckos she has bred and raised as a resolution.
