In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Bad Guy Kimberly Lucas Gorgeousgecko.com con artist!!

Well, today i received the super-dalmatian Kimberly sent me as compensation for this whole ordeal. First and foremost I will be the first to admit, he's a pretty good looking gecko, Spot/color wise anyways. Great spots, lots of ink blots, and lots of red spots. And he fires up more red than the pictures i will post show.

But with that being said, i couldn't help but notice something when i looked at him. First I noticed he is missing a toe on his right back foot, not a huge thing, but not something I was made aware of by any means. If you all will remember Kimberly did state that he was missing the tip of his tail when she made me this offer. What she failed to say, is that he lost the tip of his tail recently. Very recently. I'm talking there is still an open wound and dried blood where he lost the tip. It looks like it has barely healed at all, and looks infected. From the tip up about 1/4-1/2 inch is noticeably darker, doesn't bend, and looks as if it is all dying. I'm worried if it doesnt clear up fast, i may be have to force him to drop the entire tail, especially if the part that looks infected reaches any further up the tail. Pics posted below

We were wondering if Kim made me this offer because she came to her senses and decided what she did was wrong and wanted to make things right, or if it was an attempt to save some of her reputation. Well i'm sad to say it appears we were all wrong. Its obvious to me by how fresh this tail nip is and the condition its in, that he was injured most likely a few days before or even the day she offered him to me, and that in fact is the reason why she suddenly went from "you wont get a dime from me" to "here have the highest priced gecko on my site for free"

Not much else needs to be said about Kim and her business and moral practices. I would suggest that no one ever consider doing business with her after this ordeal.

Absolutely ridiculous.

Sorry you ended up with such a raw deal. Hope you can do better for that gecko in getting that "little nip"(infected horrible sore) and missing toe taken care of.

Hi Brian,
For the tail, you just want to keep him on paper towels right now. You won't need him to drop the tail. The worst thing, he might need to have a couple of saunas. He might have shed and the shed got stuck on the tip, making it look raw.
PM me if you need info on saunas.

I gave him a sauna this afternoon and have him on paper towels. I don't think it'll get bad enough to have to make him drop it, but i have seen that happen once, so i'm probably more paranoid.

Was typing up a similar response to dragonlvr64. Scratched up/nipped tails usually have issues with stuck shed (which left untreated can cut off blood flow and cause that section to die and fall off) until they start to heal up.

Wow...I had really hoped that she would make things right with you. To me, this does NOT seem right. What a horrible person. And to neglect to tell you that it had a missing toe...just wow. She obviously cares very little about her animals and customers. :(

Kinda amusing that her "peace offering" actually made her look worse. But it's not like this was a huge shock to everyone. Looks like this thread is staying on the negative side for you, Kim. You earned it. Congrats.

Good luck with your new gecko. He is a real cutie. :) I hope his tail gets better soon...looks like it hurts like heck.

All I can say is it's really sad how this situation all turned out.
Brian - so sorry you had to deal with someone who turned out to be a horrible person.
Sending someone out a gecko that's the not color you claim to be is wrong, but sending someone an injured gecko is just sick and immoral. And the fact that it was supposed to be a "peace offering" is just a slap in the face.
But I really want to thank you for bringing this to the BOI, so Kimberly could be exposed for the person she really is. I'm sure I'm not the only person who has browsed through her geckos and thought about buying one (thank god I didn't).
And now that all of this has come to light, I'm sure her name is on everyone's "Do Not Buy From" list who has read this (except maybe Mr. Wyatt).
It's really ashame it had to come to this, but that's how Kim wanted it, apparently.

I too was browsing her geckos at one point in time but stopped when I saw this thread and I'm sure glad I did my research! I'm so sorry that you had to go through this whole ordeal Brian but sure am glad you brought it to the BOI... Kim.. congrats on losing lots of customers! Peace Offering... Yeah.. OK.. a Peace Offering would be you sending him a top notch completely impecable gecko... Not an injured not as described gecko! Good Luck with future dealings especially from this site and those that frequent it!

Sometimes I hate to say "I told you so", but not in this instance.

Her offer was completely self-serving, but I am rather happy to see that it completely backfired in her face. Even if you can save the tail, it's obvious why she had her "sudden" change of heart.

Kim, I suggest you rethink the way you run your business and the way you care for your animals and customers.

The reptile industry as a whole has enough problems without the people in it destroying it internally.

Brian, sorry you had to go through with this and I am glad you were able to find some resolution, even if it is as crummy as this. Hopefully that little guy will be able to keep his tail.

Well .... that's a nice looking Super D ... but $600.00? Nah, I think I'll pass. Damn shame she didn't even have the decency to mention the missing toe or the true condition of the tail - even if only in private with you, Brian. Omission of the truth speaks volumes.

First off I want to say I dont know Kimberley personally or have done business with her.
Although after reading through all these posts and trying to see both sides of this situation, I definately dont agree with how she handled the situation to begin with but arent you all being a little harsh!?

I mean she has been in business selling high end geckos at extremely high prices for a long time, and there hasnt been a bad boi on her till now.
Im not saying others havent had bad experiences, I actually have only heard good things about her and her animals until this, but no one has said anything.

You never know whats going on in her personal life, we all have difficult times and it seems like she spiralled this one out of control, but doesnt mean that shes a bad person.
Im not sticking up for how she handled this situation but I just feel like this thread is getting a bit overly dramatic.

Not sure why she sent you a injured gecko I am sorry for the way it worked out for you Brian. I have had a gecko with a bad tail nip too and it healed up fine I hope he does ok for you.

This is just my personal opinion.

I actually have only heard good things about her and her animals until this, but no one has said anything.

True ... but perhaps that's because her TOS prohibits a customer from saying anything publicly lest they automatically void it in the event of a problem.
I'd say that's pretty dramatic.

I have said it before and I will say it again.

It does not matter if you have a hundred great transactions and only one bad one. What matters is how you handle it. A good reputation does not negate negligent customer service and misrepresented animals. What she did was wrong, plain and simple.

We are not being harsh. We are being realistic. Reality hurts, that is life. How you deal with said reality is what matters.

She handle this situation wrong numerous times. Now she has to reap what she has sown. It is simple as that.

She should have been completely upfront about the condition of the tail. That's going to be one super nice adult Super Dalmation though.

In my eyes... her TOS alone makes her a bad person. How are you gonna tell your customers that they cant say bad things or it voids your guarantees.

That is beyond stooopid and is some of THE worst customer service I have ever seen.

Yea, looking at his tail closer now that i'm off work, its covered in scars and scabs from base to tip. This poor guy was housed with one mean cagemate....

I really wonder how she cages all her animals. I attended a show this summer she was vending at. I noticed many of her geckos had nipped tails. Personally, I separate geckos when they look like they are being picked on. They aren't in the wild and can't run away, so it doesn't seem right to keep them caged with a bully.

She should have told you what the tail looked like, but I do agree it is a great looking gecko. Once the tail has healed up, that is going to be a fantastic adult!
