    In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

I just want to make sure I got this right...4 days ago you make a post on here saying you were thinking about getting law enforcement involved and today you get an email about a refund.

Ouch.

So is everyone going to contact the law then?
 
I had also left her a voicemail stating that if there continued to be no contact, I would pursue filing a report with the police. I had not made contact with the police yet, as I have been very busy, & this has been lower on my list of priorities.

I got the email about the pending refund today.

I texted her & said thank you, & posted here.

She appears to be trying to make things right.
 
sorry for the delay in posting... as i meant to 3 or 4 times, got busy, then it slipped my mind... i received a PayPal email on June 6 stating i was receiving funds from Geckos in Tails, Subject: Refund

i had sent a few messages to Laura's FB pages but as far as FB shows, none had been "seen". A refund was not what i was looking forward to as my last interaction with Laura was her asking for my zip code so she could give me a shipping quote, and that was on May 5

i have been reimbursed the total amount i paid her (paypal just isn't releasing it until 6-11 because it was via eCheck...

Disappointed i didn't get the gecko i looked forward to BUT i'm satisfied i got resolution.
 
I am now seeking a refund for the agricolae and shipping money. If she does not get back to me within the week I will be filing reports. I have given up hope that any geckos are still alive.

Maybe I missed something Lauren, but what would make you think the geckos are dead?
 
At this point it is what most of us believe. We cannot think of a reason for her to drop off the grid with no explanation after this long. The fact that she has refunded people money instead of sending out geckos (she was trying to downsize and refine projects recently) makes me believe it further.
 
I agree, the fact that she is sending out refunds instead of sending the actual animals does make you wonder if something happened to them?

I hope everyone is able to resolve their deals with her.
 
She and I had arranged a trade back in Feb or March: my snow Kenyan sand boa for her crested gecko 'Paalo'. We were waiting for appropriate shipping weather when she vanished. Messages I've sent her have gone unanswered.

However, since she has 'vanished' and hasn't responded to messages, I'm considering selling the sand boa. :/

How disappointing.
 
Holy Crap I'm so happy and sad to see this I knew about this through a FB Group for Cresties, I think I'm the last person to recieve a gecko from her and that was Golden I picked him up In April his Sire was speckeled like a leopard.

Where did you pick him up in April? Her house? I think by that time she wasn't talking to anyone.
 
Ya I met her In Brandon right out side of Tampa at a Barnes and nobles I live in saint Pete. She told me she was going on a camping trip that week. I followed up with her and she said something happend and she didn't go on it then fell off the face of the Earth. I'm Ryan Thomas Devine on the FB Crestie groups I posted that on what ever one it was I forget
 
No. She is gone with my geckos/$300. She took advantage of everyone, and ruined a lot of valuable friendships.
 
I am in no way defending the scamming or theft committed by Laura Lee Britt Petrila. I don't like animal abusers, liars, scammers or thieves. I would love to see justice done and her trusting customers repaid.

I did a little more digging tonight. I went back to her FB and saw her marriage announcement ... "Got Married October 26, 2011".

Did a little more digging. I found public records that indicated on August 1, 2012 her husband filed for a Dissolution.

Then August 9, 2012 was the file date for a home Foreclosure with the last docket date being recent, 10-23-2013. There was no address for the house that foreclosed at the county website. I do have screen shots to support my findings.

I suppose these would be the reasons for her apparent theft and vanishing act. Again, it's hardly an excuse as every single one of us faces adversity and crap every single day and every single year.

I just wanted to post what I found tonight ... she's still out there, so victims don't give up. Perhaps her former husband (T. A. Petrila, Florida real estate agent, perhaps?) knows where she is.
 
Just wondering if Laura is still a lousy criminal?

Did everyone get refunded? Did anyone?
