• Responding to email notices you receive.
    **************************************************
In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Looking for feedback on http://www.socalreptile.com

So Cal's Store

Hey all, I found their store! Go to socal.com and look at their virtual store. The graphics are very cool and you just point at the area of the store you want to visit and bam you are there. To bad their service and animals are not as good as their web site.

New ID Now?

I was perusing the python classifieds on kingsnake and ran across a very familiar picture of a lavendar albino retic. This snake was listed on Reptibid numerous times by SoCal and also in the kingsnake classifieds very often. This "new" company has the same pictures, though cropped a bit. Also, the title of the ad is the same that SoCal used time after time. To see the ad, go to http://market.kingsnake.com/detail.php?cat=7&de=206232 . Just a little heads up. They seem to now be going by "SerpentsByDesign" (quite the CBD rip off eh?).

HEY CAHNCE GET YOUR FACT'S STRAIGHT...YOU SOUND DUMB!!

THAT IS NOT THE SAME SNAKE!!!

AND WE DID NOT CHANGE OUR NAME ...WHY WOULD WE DO THAT.

SOUNDS LIKE YOUR STORE IS A RIP OFF...PEOPLE BE AWARE OF THIS CHANCE CHARACTER...HE SOUND LIKE A .....""""""

Joseph (or Jody?), do you really think coming on here and screaming like a little kid is going to help your case at all? I mean really, you sound like you're all of 14 or 15 years old. You have a whole string of negative posts about you which you've never been able to refute with anything substantial.

Why would you change your name? That's obvious. After all this stuff about you, it would be the only logical choice for someone wanting to stay in business.

My store is a rip off? Funny, I wasn't aware I had one. Only the desperate start pulling things out of their rear to take the light off themselves. The snake in the picture is very obviously the same one. I wish I would have had the foresight to save those ads from before, but for now I'll just rely on my slightly photographic memory and near obsession with albino retics which convinces me that the snake in the ad is the very same one from before. To anyone else reading this, when you go to the ad, you have to click the picture that is x-ed out, and it will pop up a cropped picture of the same snake listed on all the other ads they had before. If you have seen the other ads, you'll recognize it I'm sure.

If you ever wish to dig yourself out of this massive hole you've built, you may want to start now. For one, try rebutting people with facts, not vague skirting answers. Also, it helps to try to get all these suppose "satisfied" customers here to help you out by giving us their side of the story. It's pretty obvious that seemingly most of your customers or near customers (people who almost made the mistake of dealing with you) exist on the other end of the spectrum.

I noticed just today that they have an ad listed in the Chameleon section on KS for Rhampholean Uluguruensis. The animal they have pictured is not a R.Uluguruensis but rather a R. Temporalis. I was the first person to import the R.Uluguruensis and they are not an easy species to get but now there are others that are trying to cash in by selling similar looking species by using the Ulu's name. I wrote them informing them of this but have not heard back (which I won't as they never write me back when I e-mail them) and they have not changed the ad.

CHANCE

Chance,
They were using the exact same pictures of cornsnakes on Reptibid and on kingsnake. That's actually how I figured out that they had ads on reptibid in the first place. Same exact pictures. So I totally believe you about the retic deal. I guess it is hard for them to believe that there are some people out there that actually pay attention to details.

Now they have an ad listed for R. Uluguruensis and have R. Brevicaudatus pictured. It is obvious that these guys have no clue to what species they have at all.

Just curious- How many points do I need to win something? Kevin Dunne

You screwed it up already! The first time you post, you are supposed to forget to sign your name at the end. Thats how most EVERYBODY earns their first nick!

Good to see you here though, even if you did screw up your chances of winning.:D

Now, to this thread. You live in the same neighborhood as these guys. What do you know about them?

Socal

I also emailed socal about a dumeril's boa. Seems like I am the few that actually got replies. The replies included calling me crazy, and implying that he was screaming curse words at me, because I tried to bargain the price of the dumeril's. I will never buy anything from socal, and I encourage no one else, too, neither. They are just in it to make a few bucks off of unsuspecting people by ripping them off. It was James sheridan that emailed me. Not just once, but several times he emailed bad things to me, he called me "bad for the business" and "I'm the kind of people that give the reptile business a bad name." And finally he told me that he had a business to run and didn't have time (after several emails) to play cat and mouse games with me.

Steven, thanks for the info. Would you please post those email here for us all to read? I think if people can see for themselves the tone these guys take with people it would be great.

Sorry

Sorry, but I deleted those emails quite the while ago, again, I'm very sorry.

Has anyone noticed that they are now posting ads under a set of eyeballs? No more links to their website either, only a "310" area code with no name. I wonder how they answer their phone when you call to place an order? I guess I am not one of the,

plenty of happy customers that you don't hear from because their playing with their new animals

I have time notice things like these.

hmmmmm Now they are advertising as SCR and still posting ads with incorrect species pictured. Their business must be so good that they have to "change the name to protect the innocent".

Rob,

Did you notice they had the R. temporalis/R. uluguruensis photo labled as R. spectrum for a while also? Every time I email them now when their ID is wrong I get a one line reply: "Are you interested?" and they don't bother to correct their adds. You can tell how much they care about their animals/business.

Chris

Chris,

Yes I noticed that as well. I have yet to receive a reply back from them even though I am trying to help them. I guess they will just keep mis-representing their animals until they get on the BOI....oops they are already here. I guess they can keep changing their names when they put each name into the :toiletcla

SCR name Change

S.C. Reptiles II

they don't list a location. the ads look similar. the Logo looks like it was done by the same person. Does anybody know this company? They seem to have appeared when SCR went away.
If this company is not linked to SCR i apologize for listing them in the same thread as SCR.

They are the same, or atleast the guy that I had to call and email relentlessly when I had my problem with them has his same email and phone number with his ads. It appears it is now the second(II). New and improved....?

BOI must be working

If a company has to try to change it's name.

they should have probably tried be honest with their customers.
But i guess a name change is easier, then changing from being lying scum.

For the people at SCR (II) they may not be familiar with the meaning of honest

Marked by or displaying integrity; upright: an honest lawyer(?huh).
Not deceptive or fraudulent; genuine:
Equitable; fair:

did you see the add for the beardie?

These excellent specimens range in size from 6-7 inches.
Healthy and energetic, this female will make a great pet for long term breeders or those just starting!

These firecrackers are $100 + S/H

This is under the bearded dragon classifieds on kingsnake.

Would anyone pay $100.00 for that dragon? What Red? Looks pretty scruffy to me!

I got really rude e-mails back to me as well, now I noticed the name change as well.
