Luis, what happen between December 21st until March 21st? The emails at the beginning of this tread. That is exactly four months for you guys to work this out. I for one would like to hear your side of this transaction. I have heard Matt's side. But IMO, I think we all would like to hear your side as well.

Luis, I can understand your not being able to get away from work to take the dead animal to the vet but you still should have taken a moment to let Matt know what was up. Just ignoring him just made matters worse. You had time enough to inquire about that other animal, didn't you? I know freezing an animal can cause cell damage making some tests difficult. As far as what can kill an animal in a few weeks. A contaminated food item could do it, overfeeding, or constipation from feeding to large a prey, poor husbandry, etc.. By the look of that animal it appears very bloated around the belly to tail section. Looks like it was loaded with flagellates which could cause the stool to be runny and granular. Flagyl may have taken care of it but since nothing was done to treat it is that Matt's fault? If the necropsy shows some kind of parasitic infestation the animal may not have had a problem prior to arriving at your place.
Now it's your turn to say, "but none of my other animals have had any problems." To this I respond, how do we know?

Here's my problem. You never said I was out of luck, but you did tell me you were going to have a necropsy done. Then I didn't hear from you for a couple weeks, so I emailed you. You said that you would check with the vet first thing the next morning to get the results. How was this possible if you haven't even taken it to the vet. See email below, second line from the bottom. I think this shows that you are liar. After that, you stopped responding to all my emails. To me that meant I was out of luck. Also, I don't feel I will owe you for the necropsy because you didn't take the animal to the vet when you got the first runny stool because you didn't have the money. As far as I'm concerned, you took full responsibility for the snake's health at that point. Now send me what you owe me.

Here are the pics...

Here he is exactly how I found him, dead in the cage....

you can see some what in these bad pics that he did crap all over the cage like the picture I showed you earlier.

Like I said before the first time he took that nasty crap, I did not think much of it. The second time I worried... the thrid time he was dead.

In the time he was here he ate only 2 large frozen thaw rats. The same rats I have been feeding all my other snakes. I have raised my Boas since 2000 on the same rats.

The only snakes the Albino was with was a CB 2000 Pastel Female 100% Het Albino

And my CB 2002 Salmon Hypo 100% Het Sunglow from Jeremy Stone.

He was there to spice up some action with the Salmon Hypo Het Sunglow for about 4-5 days.

Then I removed him out of the cage to house him alone in a rack system. the picture of him I sent you before...

When I got the second loose stool I took a picture and ask you if you had any issues with him. Remember?

I have not heard from the Vet ...I will call tomorrow morning.

I will get off work at 8:00 PM AZ Time and I will let you know what I have the Vet found out so far...

Luis was on line early this morning and read my post. But he chose not to reply. I will agree than anything could have killed this snake. I do not agree with his three week period. He got the snake on the 9th of January, and did not complain about the snake being sick until March 6th.


(Luis) How can I make a healthy snake do that in 3 weeks?

I am not drawing conclusions as I will posy here the results of the necropsy for everyone to see.

I told you... If I did Kill the snake I would ship you the Ball Pythons as agreed.

If the necropsy find it otherwise, you know you will owe me Necropsy costs... Right?

Besides a damn good apology for calling me a thief !!!

I would also say (IMO) that If he was out of work, that would give him plenty of time to answer Matt's questions and keep in touch. Instead he chose to dart and duck. I also can not understand how he could not afford to send the paperwork. He had the time, as well as the fact that stamps and a envelope are not real draining on the pocket book.


(Luis) At first shipping cost was an issue. Greg Riso has already confirm that I lost my Job since before Thanksgiving... I was not working and Making my Rent, my Motorcycle, and my BMW monthly payments on time was my # 1 priority.

My question to this would be. Why would you make a deal with Matt, knowing good and well you would not have the funds to uphold your end of the deal. If you lost your job before Thanksgiving, then you knew you would not have the funds in December when this deal was made.
 
Actually the first time Luis mentioned the snake having runny stools was on February 21, not March 6. Still almost 6 weeks after receiving the animal, not 3 as Luis said. He also stated in this email that he wasn't going to take it to the vet for another week because he didn't have the money. I responded very quickly to this email (Feb. 22) telling Luis that this was not normal for this animal and that it must be sick.
So what we have is Luis had the animal for 6 weeks prior to letting me know anything was wrong. He also wouldn't take it to the vet because he didn't have the money and it had been in with his other animals. How am I supposed to be responsible for this? I just don't get it. Please help me understand Luis.

I will have a check coming on thursday.... I work 46 hours last week shipping and I am hoping to ship as soon as Monday. (I will work arround my wok schedule to ship ASAP)

Also here are some pics please tell me what you think. I have got the Albino to eat 2 times... And he looks good. (Not interested in any of my girls)

However, I have got two stools like this...

I am having him now in quarentine in a separate room. Have you experience anything like that with him before? I did save a stool sample to have it look at by my Vet. However, my Vet recomend me to get a fresh sample when I have the money next week.

I would like to thank you for being so very patient with me. I hope to prove to you 100% that I will make things right and as soon as I have some babies I will definitely keep you in mind if you are interested on any of them.

You should have got the paperwork by now... I will check my PO Box to see if it has comeback too me or something.

Thanks for getting back to me. I have never had any problems with the albino. He has been a picture of health since I got him two years ago and has never even refused a meal while in my care. He was feeding on f/t med-large rats every 14 days while in my care. I only feed my males every other week. I don't know what's going on with those urates, I've never seen anything like it before. If he is not eating regularly for you, something is wrong. Either he is sick or he doesn't like your temps/setup. I wish you would have let me know this sooner as you have had him for a month and a half now and he has been in with some of your animals.

Please keep me informed about shipping the balls. Shipping on Monday for Tuesday delivery would work best for me. Let me know.

That would require cooperation on Luis's part. I cannot/won't take them by force. If He is willing, and would like Me to, I would gladly get them and ship them for Matt.

If Luis would cooperate, I would gladly send a check for shipping fees (not to Luis of course). I have already made this offer to Luis as I had someone who lives 10 minutes from Luis offer to go pick them up and ship them for me. So far Luis has not responded to this offer.

I did read your post earlier this morning and I was acctually on my way to work. I am here now and have time to reply.

And you are right it was not 3 weeks it was more like 5 weeks.

I do not really have all the dates written down, and I have not yet look at the record of the phone conversations Matt and I have exchanged. But here is some info:

January 11
I got the Albino, The snake appears in good health and I housed it alone in a separate bedroom.

February 7 to 10
The Albino was housed with CB2002 1.0 Salmon Hypo 100% Het Sunglow and CB2000 0.1 Pastel 100% Het Albino

February 11
The Albino ate for the first time in my care. He ate a frozen-thaw large rat.

February 21
Second loose stool, cage was cleaned, disinfected with diluted Ammonia solution, rinsed. Snake was offered another frozen-thaw large rat and feed.

February 26
Snake is found dead at about 8:00PM and was refrigerated.

February 27
Snake was frozen. And has been frozen since

March 2
I contact my local Vet. Not a Reptile Vet, just the best Vet in 30-40 mile radius for necropsy info.

March 7
The Vet informed that snake must be shipped out to California for necropsy and that shipping is on me. I know a necropsy can be done here in AZ and maybe this Vet just does not have enough reptile information or contacts.

March 9, 10, and 14
I called the Better known Reptile Vets in Phoenix and Tucson. I was recommended to contact The University of Arizona.

March 15
I call UofA and they told me to keep the snake frozen until I can make it to Tucson. I spoke with the pathologist and he told me that even that the snake is frozen, there is ways to figure out the cause of death.

Tomorrow March 30
My sister is going to Tucson and she will drop off the frozen Albino.

As soon as the results are in I will post them...

So how close did I get??, and.... do you actually think I believe that??.... Is that really the best you can come up with??....

Actually Neil, in Luis's defense. We talked on the phone earlier, and HE brought up the subject of Me taking them home with Me until the results were in.
A decision was not fully made about it though.

If it's true, however, and he's willing to give Matt his snakes, until the outcome of the necropsy, that's all I think anyone could ask for.... If it happens that way, I'll be the first one to get up and applaud Luis....

How big was the albino boa? Maybe it is the picture, I am trying to guess the size along with the box it is in. My concern is if the snake was big enough to handle a large rat. Maybe my idea of a large rat is bigger than Luis's idea of a large rat.

If his animals smell funny to you... Well there is not much we can do is it?

They are just stinking Balls... LOL ...Learn to love em!
