    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Wow I see nothing but excuses. I don't know how you were able to remain so patient with him. Hopefully you get your money back soon.
 
I'm so sorry. A seller asking to be paid via Paypal as a gift is not only unethical on their part, it is a huge red flag, since you cannot open a dispute with Paypal over a gift.
I'm wondering whether the snake was alive when it was sent? Have you notified him of this thread?
 
Proof that Luis did, in fact, intend on buying the bike he denied he was buying.

Proof that Luis is putting other financial obligations first.

Proof that Luis is still seeking spending money on other animals rather than compensating Scott.

Yeah, when I got ahold of Scott I've really just had it with this dude. I'm kind of on a personal mission to shut him down.

I had not heard much about him again until I moved to Arizona last year. Seems he has a better rep. in the state as a whole, but he has screwed people over there too.
 
I have only bought a vision cage off him a couple years ago. It went pretty well, but I have never bought an animal off him. He is about an hour or so drive from me.

A cash refund or a animal of your pick as a replacement should have been immediate and first priority to Luis. He has a history in the boi and in the community for not being the most stand up guy. Unfortunately as time passes red flags bury themselves a bit and people become unaware of previous issues will go and make a purchase with not so up and up people :/ I'm sorry this happened to you, your a easy/great customer and I hope Luis resolves it but I wouldn't hold my breath
 
At this point I would suggest a straight refund(if he stops with the excuses and pays up) just to avoid another potential DOA.
 
He's just trying to avoid paying you, but even if his story was true, you don't spend someone's money before they even receive their snake. What is with people either doing this or using it as an excuse. Avoiding a 13.80 PayPal fee is another tell tale sign of greed. This seems to be a trend too. If you're too cheap to pay the 3% PayPal fee or the credit card fee for taking them directly, sell in person for cash. It's part of the cost of doing business and it's against PayPal. Visa, and MasterCard TOS to ask the customer to pay the fee. I hope you get some sort of relief, but it doesn't look good with this scam artist.
 
I actually remember reading some of the previous post about this guy & seeing some of the same FB post. I'm sorry to hear about your story Scott. Nice work Diem.
 
It sickens me to my stomach that for many years now every time I hear that name Luis Tarcena, it’s always attributed with something bad. This guy clearly does not care about animals and I just don’t understand why he just doesn’t go away as is name keeps coming up associated with bad circumstances. He has no business keeping, breeding and selling any live animals whatsoever. I just can’t understand why anyone with some sense would think they can ship a snake to someone in rigor mortis, not refund or offer an exchange in a reasonable amount of time (like the same day geez) and get away with it unnoticed?

We need to have a Hall of Fame posted somewhere for people who you shouldn’t deal and are beyond forgiving even if they make things right in a single transaction because for many years from now, if Luis is still in the hobby, his name will keep coming up in future transactions involving money theft and dead/sick boas. I’m so sorry for these snakes.

All that is needed is a search of the BOI. I think if someone did a search for this seller on the BOI, it is my opinion that no rational person would do business with him.
Unfortunately there are people who are new or who otherwise do not know of the BOI, that do not get the information that allows them to make a better informed choice in their transactions.
 
next time he says that he has blank amount of money and will need a few more days before he has the amount to pay you off just tell him to send that amount and then the rest when he gets it.

You have no idea how lucky you are that people talked sense into me when I came out there to get Aurora.
