I think we all understand that you were being antagonized, but i still disagree with the outright banning of chris. Alot has gone on, on fauna the past few weeks and emotions are high and to just outright BAN someone is a little bit of an overreaction. I came here instead of kingsnake because i was tired of all the drama, but it seems now that there is more drama on fauna then kingsnake. Some of it was quite funny at first, but the drama on this site has turned completely annoying. I know you thought banning chris would stop some of the unneeded drama but i have a feeling its going to make it worse...hm

Chris was great as "Top Shelf". As his rep points and fan club grew, he was beset by delusions of grandure. At some point along the way he became "Over theTop" Shelf. Thats what got him in trouble.

It may have given that appearance to some people since I was allowing the antagonism to go on for far longer then most people would have. Everyone knows that I could have stopped it at any time at the click of a button.

Seriously, I do regret that this happened from a lot of different perspectives. But there was just no way it was going to stop WITHOUT a drastic step, and I believe if everyone will make a truthfull assessment of the situation, it would be rather difficult not to agree.

As I look through this thread~ and think to myself that Chris is still reasonably new here~ I'm shocked to see~ I'm mistaken. I've just been around so long I'm now one of the Old Timers (DAMN~ How did that happen?)

Has it occurred to you that the "Bear" has taken more crap in the last several years than you would EVER consider putting up with? Well, he has. Hair trigger? LOL~ Go back and read the last several years. The man is MUCH more patient than anyone else I have ever met.

Rich is a perfectly reasonable human being~ but just like the rest of us~ he is STILL a human being. More than likely if you had left him alone he would have changed his mind about a hasty action~ but the more you harp on him the more set he is going to become. Why should he let Chris come back and give him crap when he has all of you to do that FOR Chris.

Leave Rich alone. He's a reasonable man. Give him a couple days to cool down~ THEN try having a reasonable discussion. Don't try to reason with the bear while it's still smarting from the latest sting.

I think making the 'fund' permanent would be a good idea, but it would need some sort of extra guidelines, wouldn't it? I mean, I can't think of a better cause than the current one, but how would it be decided which causes are appropriate? Committee vote? Poll?

If it reverts back to the original Fauna Fund while there isn't a special cause or whatever for a while, I think that would be a good idea as well. I thought it was rather fun and entertaining when I had started posting stuff there. Actually, I'm glad I did because I've met some really nice people through the auctions.

Anyway, that's just my opinion.

I have assessed warning points before to people who used their signature line for something along the lines of "Don't do business with RoadKill Herps!", or "Joe Blow sucks!".

It is my opinion that this is not an acceptable use of the signature area. In other words, Robin, I do not want people to use the signature area to make derogatory or antagonistic remarks about nor towards anyone. Generally positive statements, of the kind that people may consider as educational or motivational are not considered as a problem. Blatant advertising of products is also a no-no in that area, as are graphics.

If that comment in Matt's signature is not removed shortly, I will assess him warning points and remove it myself. If it is then replaced, he will be suspended and fined.

I hope this explains my position on this.

Uh, I AM giving him a chance to comply. I'm sure he has read the additions to this thread after his making his posts here. The purpose of the warning system is to WARN people of infractions like this. Seems kind of redundant if I were to warn people that I am about to warn them........

No, not an attack, just a blatant lack of respect. You were asked to remove it and you flat out refuse. It's fine to disagree but to show such disrespect and make such a tasteless post is similar to things that Chris did. Honestly I really like Chris, and I am a member of his site but he did disrespect Rich and others constantly over the past few days. I think many people saw it coming including Chris himself.

Your age and lack of maturity is showing. Nothing wrong with being young but such a lack of respect is pegging you as immature. At least in my opinion.

I didn't make an "ass" of myself. You're making yourself look like one saying that age has anything to do with this. What...? 16 year olds are too stupid to know what they're talking about? Okay now I have that out of me. Sorry for blowing up. This thread has once again gone . We need to stop arguing like children for once and try to get this site back to normal. I mean its like every single thread concerning anything turns into a flame war and it really needs to stop. How about next time someone truly disagrees with something...express your disagreement but keep it subtle...and people when you reply to the disagreement also keep its subtle. One small thing like a signature throws everyone into a tailspin and everyone is arguing. C'mon guys look how we pulled together to help out the hammacks when they were in need. Why does somthing tragic have to happen for us all to pull together. Why can we not always be like that? Just a thought...
