• Responding to email notices you receive.
    **************************************************
In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

  • IMPORTANT! PLEASE READ!! About the Google Adsense ads being displayed

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    Addendum: 01/10/2026
    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Make The Hammack Fund permanent.

So now, are there any other directions this thread can go off topic on?

Yes, I would like to *loudly* vent my frustrations on the difficulties of reading the Internal Revenue Code, I have been looking on the sections having to do with capital gains for the last 3 hours, ( 1(h) ) and I am TOTALLY CLUELESS...... :bandhead0

If there are any accountants or tax attorneys reading this thread I promise to love you and cherish you if you will email me and help out......

Then you know there's something in the water (promounced waw-ta) in NY. That's what makes NY bagels taste the way they do.

And you can't say "y'all" either. LOL.

Jim. I'm pretty sure that, that "something" in the water would be toxins from the Bayonne.

It's not in the water. It's in the air. It's "wild" yeast. Thats why "San Fransico Sourdough" doesn't taste like Sourdough made in New York or Texas using the same starter mix. Same deal with your Bagels. When the baker allows the dough to rise~ some of the "wild" yeast in the air mixes with the "domestic" yeast (what we buy in cakes or granules at the store) and it affects the flavor~ givining regional flavor to most yeast breads.

Thats more than you ever wanted to know about your bread isn't it? LOL!

As far as BBQ~ On Monday I'll be grilling up the absolute best Santa Maria style Tri-tip down here in Southern California (gonna have sourdough bread from San Luis California with it~ I think San Luis Sourdough is the best!)

From oot in da woots yous guys be. In da reevers be da wader dat make da diffrence.

You gotta love Pennsylvania Dutch

The Hayden Fund Banner --- ????

What happened to the HAYDEN banner here on Fauna? I have it on my website, and have seen it on almost every website I frequent. I don’t see it on Fauna anymore. How come? I just got off the phone with Kelli, and had to choke back tears hearing her say how good it made her feel to see it here on Fauna, but wondering where it went.

Marcia and Kelli don't worry. It was removed accidently when Chris was banned and issued refunds for membership & advertising. Chris logged into fauna ads and activated the banner again. it should be active now.

She also told me that she was made aware of what is really going on between Webslave and Chris. Kelli asked me to tell the truth... now I'm just going to have to figure out a way to do that!

I would begin by starting.

Perhaps a new thread in Gen. Bus. or Sound Off.

Waiting......

And on the next episode of All My Children..Soap operas are for soccer moms. Just spit it!

NOT. Sorry Wes, some of us actually know how to keep private matters private.

That sure sounds to me like someone planning on spilling some beans~ if it were a private matter to be kept private~ why the tease in a public forum?

laura, if you're insinuating something here let me remind you of the bear and the stick and the poking and the what happened to the one who poked the bear.

If you've got something to say, say it.

I agree with Cheryl, it was a tease and I think meant to entice just this sort of interest.

I think I just done did said it.

Then I reckon thinking is NOT your strong suit.

This is NOT the place for this.

Feel free to start something in an appropiate forum but this really isn't the place for it.

YOU should know better by now.

Yes, by all means lets spill the beans on yet another private issue.

The only thing it would accomplish is another round of "who flung poo?" That way everyone can eat up the juicy details and feed off the drama it creates.

Leave the damn issue private where it belongs.

Yep. The more I think about it~ Y'all are right. Leave it alone. I'm just as prone to curiosity as anyone else~ which is why I asked~ and the flippant response just made me more curious~

But your right. Leave it alone. This is not the time or the place. This is a sensitive subject (the Hammock Fund)~ I've "overheard" some nasty bite backing crap surrounding it. It doesn't belong associated with it. Move on. Move to another subject. Chris never should have allowed himself to bait Rich in a thread dedicated to such a sensitive subject. Rich never should have taken the bait.

I never should have let my curiosity get the better of me. We should all be ashamed of ourselves. Not just the ones I mentioned. We all know who we are and what we are guilty of.

Leave it alone.

San Luis Sourdough is the best stuff. Tri-Tip Monday~ Y'all should come on down and we can just talk food.

I'm sorry for Kelli's loss, I don't know how it is to lose a child (thank goodness)But I do know how it is to lose a 13 year old brother, and I especially know how much devastation it can wreak on a family.

I think that something like the Hammack/Fauna Fund is a good idea when one of our own community members experiences a catastrophic loss. I think that nearly every person who's contributed to this thread thinks so.

IF there are other thoughts on other issues, who hates whom, who did who wrong, and etc, I really really think that these things need to be somewhere appropriate to the discussion.... perhaps in a "venom" thread? That way all of you can spew your venom without desecrating a topic that is so special and also so distressing.

I've always felt that the people ... the good guys... on Fauna had some sense. I think the guy at the counter has all the sense you guys checked in at the door... why don't you collect it now, and keep sensitive topics ON TOPIC and venom in the appropriate venom filled threads.

Yes, I haven't been part of the whole thing... there are many things I could have said along the way, but thankfully I missed the entire thing until it was past, and it appears to be past. A lot of people have done regrettable things. Let's not continue.

If anyone else has a comment on the subject at hand, (keeping the Hammack fund open) then please post it here, if you have other thoughts, please, just please take it elsewhere. I find the way this thread has gone distressing and demeaning.

Once again, my heart goes out to Kelli, for her tremendous and unassaugable (is that a word?) loss.
