I ran an inquiry on him and saw almost only bad things on him for shipping methods and a story of mites on his animal too.

Not much I can do now other then tell everyone else about what happened.
Lucille, I mentioned twice it was my fault for trusting him you're not making a new point. I also did say I read quite a few good things on him. No matter who you are you are going to get dissatisfied customers. I took it as 2 isolated incidents. I wouldn't think it was his 'thing' to send animals with mites.

I think Patrick is being treated a little harshly being a newbie to this. I don't want to get crucified here as well, just sharing my opinion.

Patrick & I are from the same small town...if it helps, I can see your sunglow for myself & inspect your other reptiles as well? (I'm just trying to be helpful) Personally, I appreciate any heads up someone offers....especially when they live in the same town & I could see an animals conditions for myself.

If Matt had an outbreak of mites (which I know SUCKS!) a heads up with a possibility the animal may have them would've been helpful. I know it's embarrassing to admit such a thing but sometimes sh!t happens & it's not your (Matt's) fault. It's better to be honest than letting the buyer find out later & starting negative feedback on the BOI.

Again,...I'm just sharing my opinion,...I don't want to get dragged into the drama as well. Just felt the newbie attack was a little harsh. =/

Pat-I'm sorry your first boa/boa transaction wasnt more favorable. And if you see specks in between the scales, they are mites as well.

Thanks for the sympathy. Like I've told Barbara before in the years I've kept snakes I've always purchased them through the Hamburg, PA show. I always avoided having them delivered as much as possible, but the Hamburg show seems to be more of a BP and Blood collection so I thought I'd try this. You live and you learn.

I don't think anybody was "crucified" or "attacked". I think that, even though this seller has a reputation for some not-so-terrific (to say the least) transactions, it still doesn't nullify the reason for needing proof of an actual transaction. This isn't the "supreme court", no, but if you want to make a complaint against someone, proof is almost ALWAYS required to get someone to actually listen to you.

I haven't really considered returning the snake. The amount of mites seems manageable I just want to work out a different price then previously discussed.

Screams buyers remorce. So because it had a "manageable" amount of mites, it deserves to be $150?

You guys have nothing better to do then to come on here and instead of listening to what happened to me and avoiding it, scrutinize every little bit of information I've put up. What a waste of time. This will be the last reply on my part here. For those who read this in the future be careful with Matthew and I suggest if you ever want to buy an animal from him you meet up with him if anything. Thanks to those who read this and took it for what it is, a warning, instead of a source of how you can attack somebody.

Not really but the seller did agree to a reduced price if his animal was not up to par , so i think the op has a point .

While i see how some of the BOI regs have become overzealous here u have to understand the norm way to do these threads here is to post proof no matter who the person is that the thread is about.Sorry that you feel this way but proof is needed its the boi no oines word should be taken as proof ,i don't see how a simple copy and past job is too much work for you to do things the proper way .

while i agree, what justifies as "up to par"? for most of us its the same, but to others (i can think of someone on the AC thread about geckos) it can be something so very minor and it becomes a "freak". mites suck, and the animal doesn't deserve to have them, but he admitted to not QTing it. I don't think mites should justify a price of an animal like a kink, etc should. at least not that drastically.

if you can also post all text messages (if you have a smart phone/black berry it should be easy). if the majority were over the text messages itll help your case even more.

Thanks and I understand, in the past 6-7 years (I started breeding when I was 17) I've had about 1000 herp related transactions and 5 or less people have complained on the net about. I really dont see that as bad. When i was younger I didnt know they correct way to do everything as I had no experienced breeder to teach me, but over time have learned. I can guarantee you im one of the most knowledgable people youve talked to when it comes to animals. I also have an awesome collection which you can search me on facebook to see. Everyone has has someone complain about them sometime or another but I always do what I feel is fair, I've even had customers express they weren't satisfied, done exactly what they asked me to and they've still gone online and complained about the transaction. Everyone is always quick to criticize and no one is quick to stand up for you. I just got emails with people telling me they agree with me but are afraid to post because they'll be attacked also.

This is a great animal as can be seen from his pics and he's perfect. I've never done this before, but if you want him and feel like you're taking a chance I'd be willing to send him to you for $150. If he is not as I've descriped him he's yours for that. If I did accurately describe him then you send me the total balance for him. This way i'm the one taking the chance and not you. Then feel free to post of the transaction. If you're not interested in this no problem.

Sorry, I've been busy at work. As Shipyourreptiles is not available to ship I registered with another shipping company to ship my snakes and they haven't contacted me back yet (reptileexpress). I'm waiting for them as when I contacted UPS direct to ship a 6x6x6 package to CA wed the quoted me $83 which is insane and would have costed me $45 before.
I'm just waiting on them to see what the discount will be and resume shipping.
